Bill Clinton: U.S. no longer dominated by Christians and Jews

WASHINGTON – Former President Bill Clinton has told an Arab-American audience of 1,000 people that the U.S. is no longer just a black-white country, nor a country that is dominated by Christians and a powerful Jewish minority

In a speech to the group on Saturday, Clinton said that given the growing numbers of Muslims, Hindus and other religious groups here, Americans should be mindful of the nation’s changing demographics, which led to the election of Barack Obama as president.

Clinton said by 2050 the U.S. will no longer have a majority of people with European heritage and that in an interdependent world “this is a very positive thing.”

Clinton, who wasn’t paid for his speech, spoke in a wide-ranging 35-minute address that focused on people’s identity in an interdependent world. He said the U.S. can’t rely on its military might in global relations. “It has to begin by people accepting the fact that they can be proud of who they are without despising who someone else is,” he said.CHINA-CLINTON/

Ya think?

(many thanks to Ma Sands)

Dang wasted my comment last thread/

FIRST…..Muslim president, ur, um, never mind.

Seriously, amazing how these atheists can dismiss the existence of the strong Judeo
    Christian base in the USA.

Will a liberal ever be able to do this in practice? I hope so, but doubt it.

Looks like Wet Willie is plugging for the Muslims, atheists and agnostics now. What a disgrace he has further become.

Oh yeah, I must include Black Liberation Theology -- B. Hussein’s spiritual indoctrination.

The existance and influence of the Judeo Christian community on society is quite obvious. Even to an agnostic such as myself. It is also quite obvious that the US is trying to minimise it’s Christian image in the outside world. I don’t believe that this will have any significant positive outcome.

    Dominated? WTF Bill?

  10. 10 | June 14, 2009 4:10 pm

From Marx forward, the left has believed that jews dominate western society. It’s why they have this tendency to go off the end of the pier sooner or later, frothing about the jewish conspiracy against the world.

Apropos nothing: Chuckles is implementing a feature to make comments invisible to non-members. I suspect he doesn’t like having his comments used to show how much of a prick he is.

  11. 11 | June 14, 2009 4:11 pm

This is one of the most racist statements ever. Let us look at this:

Clinton said by 2050 the U.S. will no longer have a majority of people with European heritage and that in an interdependent world “this is a very positive thing.”

This is not true and I’ll explain. The only reason that “Whites” will not be in the majority in 2050 is the increase in the number of Hispanics. Blacks have been at 11-13% for the past 3 decades and are not increasing. Even if their numbers did, most Blacks are Christian and Culturally no different than White Americans. Black Americans follow a European Culture.

As for Hispanics this really is ignorance and racism on Bill Clinton’s part. 55% of American Hispanics are classified as White Hispanics. In other words their ancestry comes from Spain, Italy, Portugal, Italy, Belgium and Ireland. These are European Countries. The rest of Hispanics are of Mixed blood, meaning they have European ancestry also. The pure Blacks and Indian Hispanics are Culturally European also. So Hispanics are European by blood and Culture.

Hispanics are Mostly Catholic with some Evangelicals. These 2 groups are Christians. So in 2050, America will still be a minority Christian Nation with a Strong Jewish minority. In 2050 Most Americans will have European backgrounds either racially or culturally.

The Islamic immigration, that is a problem but I bet by 2050, Islamic immigration will be outlawed and the Muslism that are left will be apostates or convert to Christianity to fit in. As for Hindus and Buddhists, they respect the Judeo-Christian/European Tradition of America and are no threat.

America in 2050 will be the same as America in 2009, just more spicy flavors! LOL! :-)

  12. 12 | June 14, 2009 4:12 pm

The left always separates by ‘race’

To conservatives, we are Americans. to liberals, we are victims to be separated by race.

  13. Hagar
    13 | June 14, 2009 4:12 pm

Perhaps Bill ought to explain the benefits of a diverse society to Obama. Obama’s rise to power began in Cook County Illinois -- the county with the largest black population of any county in the nation. Black Liberation Theology is rampant there. Why should Obama give up power that has served him so well for the dubious future benefits of Bill’s diversity?

  14. 14 | June 14, 2009 4:15 pm

Clinton is saying that because some Hispanics have drops of Black or Native blood, this over rides their European blood. This is racist and comes as no surprise. It was Racist Democrats that implemented race laws and the one drop rule. This clearly is racist. But he will not get called out for it.

  15. 15 | June 14, 2009 4:17 pm

    re: #12 by LanceKates

Its pure racism on his part. In 2050 the Majority of Americans will still be Christian and follow a European Culture. It is ridiculous and clearly this man is Racist.
Its about Culture and Values, not “Race”. We are all the same race, The Human Race. Hence your point is 100% correct!

It is kinda scary to think that a man who served two terms as our President did not understand that we are a melting pot, that we are made up of many people from many nations and many ethnic backgrounds, and that we accept and allow all religions to practice in peace.

Nothing has changed, except that we have continued to improve our definitions and practice of that tolerance, making sure that it works as our founding fathers intended.

And what is even scarier is seeing a man who served as President of the United States acting as a craven water carrier, spouting talking points in advance of an agenda that does not include the best interests of the Country he embodied.

What craven creatures he and his wife are, when they could stand up as a voice for what is honest, and what is right.

You don’t have to register or log in to vote in their poll, all you have to do is enter a code thingy to prove you’re a person and not a spammer.

Currently, the results for this poll are…

    Israel = 49.7%
    Palestine = 50.3%

#77 Ma Sands -- it is virtually impossible, People are fooled by the easy rhetoric, and don’t think beyond what they first hear. So they will accept Clinton’s words, and Panetta’s words accusing Cheney of wishing we were attacked at face value without ever thinking -- “Wait a minute! This is a man who has lived to keep us FROM being attacked. No way he would EVER wish that!”

You might want to repost the link to that poll on whatever the current thread is on this blog, to be sure as many people see it as possible.

I know most folks here would gladly vote for Israel (as I did).

I’ve been watching the percentages, and haven’t seen any movement since I started watching.

At least the 49/50 result is better than the previous 60/40 (assuming 60 was for Palestine).

I hope it keeps going up (in favor of Israel).

    So do I.
I notice the comment section is growing with Israel supporters, but no change in the percentages.

There is nothing as whack as “elder statesmen” liberals.

A lifetime of suppressed white guilt, anti-semitism and self-hate finally released in a huge puff of ego.

As the years turn, brain cells die and Bill Clinton will become more & more indistinguishable from Jimmy Carter.

I don’t know if you saw the vote numbers on that poll: 1,859,700 votes! [As of this writing.] With Palis at just over 50%, either a lot of someones are doing a lot of spamming or we really are screwed. But with us having elected Obama, why shouldn’t over 50% of an internet poll support the belief that the Palis are somehow oppressed? I’m sure if they could manage to take a poll, with a fill-in-the-blank answer, of this question, ‘What is Black September?’, the answers would be fascinating. I’m sure some will think it’s in reference to the Great Depression. (September, October, what’s the big deal? It’s only a month.) Maybe some will know it as a muslim terorist group, but most will have no clue as shown by their votes on this poll. They seem proud of their historical illiteracy, just like our C-in-C. That’s why I go for the ‘we’re really screwed’ option.

Gawd, I hope not. And I really mean that. I’m no fan of Bill Clinton, but I think we saw the real Bill on the campaign trail with Hillary when he was accused of racism. He deservedly let loose with both barrels in standing up to such idiocy. I’m not sure if you remember during the ’92 preliminary campaign, but Clinton left the trail to go back to Little Rock to be in the Governor’s House as the execution of Ricky Rae Rector loomed. No matter his faults, at least he knew what being an executive was all about. Now I don’t remember Bill Clinton hopping around the country giving vapid campaign speeches while he was President for eight years, much less the first five months. But if he did, he sure as hell wasn’t bad-mouthing the US as Obama does on his forays into flyover country, and other parts of the world.

Serious question: Who would you rather have as UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon or Bill Clinton? Of course, we’ll never see a Bill Clinton as head of the UN because why should a country that provides substantial monetary support for the organization have any leadership say in the matter? Besides, the leeches in the Den of Thieves on Turtle Bay would never allow such an atrocity to be committed against their anti-American stances. Denial of their anti-American values would be racist, or something.

The Clintons were never friends of the Jews or Israel. I don’t care how many court Jews he or The Obama hire to prove otherwise, its always been about political convenience, something Bill is a consumate expert in.He no longer requires Jewish support, the mask is slipping.

As for the UN, I’d rather they pack and set up house in some third world toilet where they belong.

As I mentioned down thread to Cloudy Day, I was seeing more and more comments in favor of Israel, but the percentages in the poll weren’t shifting.
It did occur to me that only U.S. voters were being counted, as how each person who comments is identified by which flag they voted for.
Still, it’s CNN, and I have no doubts about their agenda.

You beat me to it. Hispanics from South America are mostly Christian/Catholic, and basically white and or indian/white. Also South Americans are actually more hooked into European culture (Spanish/Portuguese) than Americans are.
