“Coming To America”

Nope, it’s not the 80′s Eddie Murphy flick. It’s more like a horror movie, courtesy of Obama, Pelosi, and Reid among many libturds.

Thousands of surgeries may be cut in Metro Vancouver due to government underfunding, leaked paper

VANCOUVER — Vancouver patients needing neurosurgery, treatment for vascular diseases and other medically necessary procedures can expect to wait longer for care, NDP health critic Adrian Dix said Monday.

Dix said a Vancouver Coastal Health Authority document shows it is considering chopping more than 6,000 surgeries in an effort to make up for a dramatic budgetary shortfall that could reach $200 million.

“This hasn’t been announced by the health authority … but these cuts are coming,” Dix said, citing figures gleaned from a leaked executive summary of “proposed VCH surgical reductions.”

The health authority confirmed the document is genuine, but said it represents ideas only.

“It is a planning document. It has not been approved or implemented,” said spokeswoman Anna Marie D’Angelo.

Dr. Brian Brodie, president of the BC Medical Association, called the proposed surgical cuts “a nightmare.”

Why would you begin your cost-cutting measures on medically necessary surgery? I just can’t think of a worse place,” Brodie said.

According to the leaked document, Vancouver Coastal — which oversees the budget for Vancouver General and St. Paul’s hospitals, among other health-care facilities — is looking to close nearly a quarter of its operating rooms starting in September and to cut 6,250 surgeries, including 24 per cent of cases scheduled from September to March and 10 per cent of all medically necessary elective procedures this fiscal year.

The plan proposes cutbacks to neurosurgery, ophthalmology, vascular surgery, and 11 other specialized areas.

As many of 112 full-time jobs — including 13 anesthesiologist positions — would be affected by the reductions, the document says.

“Clearly this will impact the capacity of the health-care system to provide care, not just now but in the future,” Dix said.

Further reductions in surgeries are scheduled during the Olympics, when the health authority plans to close approximately a third of its operating rooms.

Lies! The procedures being cut are the ones that are not needed immediately to prolong your life, and the ones that relieve unbearable pain from bone on bone joints and whatnot, therefor they are “elective” or unimportant.
If that brain tumor won’t kill you for a few months or that shredded cartilage isn’t so painful that a load of 444′s won’t put you out, you need to buck up and wait for your “elective surgery.”

O/T, but on her latest pro-AGW thread, the washed-up ukulele player Nancy is linking to MSLSD as a “credible” source that proves AGW exists in the AGW hoax. What a moron. Fortunately, quite a few disagree with the pony-tailed libtard imbecile.

All this handwringing by the right!
We need to stop all this opposition to central government control of all aspects of our lives. We need to be the cerebral scientific socialists to counter their emotion based socialism. That’s the problem in Canada…. too many bleeding hearts and not enough technocrats to tweak and refine the laws of the collective to make it all work just right!

If it’s so hard for most progressives to believe that there is something there that they cannot see (the last thread), why is it so hard for them to see that there is nothing (money to pay for everybody’s health care) where they they think that there is?

There must be some sort of easy way to flip that. I was never any good at geometry, maybe the answer is there…someplace my mind naturally does not go.

I’ll disagree there. We currently have the tech to make Wind and Solar combined well over 50% of our power needs. I think we need nukes, but they don’t have to be the dominant power source. Which is good, because wind and solar tech and hardware is also exportable, while nuclear is not.

That is 100% total bullshit, plain and simple, a bald-faced lie, if the moron actually believes it’s true.

Anyone who claims to be worried about “global warming” that isn’t pro-nuclear power probably isn’t really serious about it. Oh, they want to do stupid things like wind and solar. The problem with them is that you can’t store electricity in any quantity. You use it when it is generated. And you don’t generate it when the wind isn’t blowing or the sun isn’t shining. 50% of our capacity from that? This guy doesn’t know what he is talking about. Barring some massive new breakthrough in battery technology what he envisions isn’t possible.

Unless we reduce demand drastically. That is usually the real goal of people like this.

I would like to remind proponents of HR3200 that we hold the moral and intellectual high ground and if confronted by someone who does not want universal healthcare federal style smack them down with honest to goodness truth and logic. Constitutional objections, objections to provisions in the bill(s), outcome based objections, et al. are best met with; “no it doesn’t/hasn’t/won’t”, “paulbot”, and “nirth certificate!” Then pass the health care sceptikkk up the food chain for a final “I can’t believe what I’m hearing,” before they are banned.

the canadian supreme court over ruled the state monopoly on health care in 2005.

“Access to a waiting list is not access to health care,” wrote Chief Justice Beverly McLachlin for the 4-3 Court

The court ruled that the waiting lists had become so long that they violated patients’ “liberty, safety and security” under the Quebec charter, which covers about one-quarter of Canada’s population.

“The evidence in this case shows that delays in the public health care system are widespread and that in some serious cases, patients die as a result of waiting lists for public health care,” the Supreme Court ruled. “In sum, the prohibition on obtaining private health insurance is not constitutional where the public system fails to deliver reasonable services.

4 years, dunno how much private practice has come, or how much they mess with you if you try to start up a practice.

If you told me that giving up air conditioning in the summer would save the world, would I do it? Not that everyone else had to give it up, too, or that I had to give up anything other than a/c, or that I had to go cold in the winter. Just give up cool air in the humid dog days of summer. To save the world.

    I would not.

    Nor would you.

The world cannot be “saved” except by totalitarianism, a cure that is worse than the disease. If there is a disease.

That’s correct. He and I had many non gentle episodes that left him flummoxed. The right leaning discourse at that time there concerned spiritual matters that were obviously foreign to him and he could not answer in a way that satisfied the other readers whom at the time were not the evolution loving and God denying echoists that consume the site now.

He left right after Babba and I, along with a huge host of others, began to speak about the importance of the Lord Yeshua.

And in time anyone who spoke up with real conviction about the Eternal, the Creator, has been banned.

1.0 now resembles a dilapidated whore house with a freshly painted façade, that once inside, smells of raw sewage and urine. Nancy has become the syphilitic madam with a stable of obese middle age hookers, who couldn’t get laid even if they were paying the customers. Occasionally a normal person, accidentally wanders in, thinking it is a legitimate business and is rolled by his skanks, then thrown out into the street. Nancy then sends Irish Poser or one of his other pools of sludge to follow them and scream about how they were “betrayed” by that person. At the end of the night, Sharmutant, Killgore Guppy and Irish Poser turn all their hard earned quarters over to Nancy, to help defray to cost of their “luxurious” lifestyle.

LOL, Bordm!!! I first got banned from Chuckle’s cesspool for telling Killgore Guppy, on election night, when the loser was saying he was happy The Zero™ won, that he was so pathetic he couldn’t get laid in a whorehouse.

Don’t worry about healthcare everybody : Charles and Charlmuta are busy tackling school board creationists and God Forbid people who think Islamists trying to kill us are a danger.

not to mention that you lose alot in transport and not all areas have sufficient sun or wind to be viable.

such power is regional. I support people doing solar or wind on their own land, but as a primary source? nah.

And as you and I agree there are many others who share this sentiment.

I will now speak plainly and will outlay a long perceived problem observed by many.

This site has had many visitors and they no longer appear here. I suspect they were looking for a site to conflict and share their convictions about shared concerns, but in my opinion the initial overwhelming unreasonable lambasting of 1.0 turned many off. I was one of them and truly considered posting elsewhere.

IMHO Rodan is on the right track and is reporting the issues of the day.

I understand that 1.0 will promote many more to come here, and if they have some concern about their handling there, that is OK. But we have an obligation for truths sake to report the facts without over the top foul and vile pimp talk.

Yes, your articles have had more punch lately, good work.
Also, I do see necessity for many of the free birds to vent and redirect their energies, they have invested much time over there. With time most let it go, but with the constant bannings, the new flock will always need this, and this is the place to do it. Let’s help them, do we have a 12 step program for those who can’t go cold turkey?

    re: #188 by Rodan

As I said in so many other words, you are on forefront of what this site should be and is to become.

Yeah, I may have shut down this thread by what I posted, but I have semi-sweet convictions about what 2.0 may become.

It was my understanding that 2.0 was the new version, a new vision, of what 1.0 left behind as inconsequential-that is the concerns of conservatives who lost their voice at the site that lost that voice- and was to be picked up by a not so new breed.

Hey, many of us have been around the block more than once.

  190. 191 | August 23, 2009 9:20 pm

    re: #190 by song_and_dance_man

That is my goal, to give Conservatives and Libertarians a place where they can comment on today’s subject. Right now I am focused on the Progressive movement like a laser.

Each poster is in a different stage. Some have completed the program.

    {S&DM}

The blog itself is going through it’s own stages. We’ve come a long way from lgfsucks.wordpress.com

    :D

I need to redirect theblogmocracy.com to blogmocracy.com instead of the other way around like it is now.

    We’ll eventually move on.

(charles doesn’t help matters when his crazy keeps coming in stages. either that or people just have different snapping thresholds)

Well I like the tone around here lately. Many references to 1.0 are about topics that aren’t posted here much, so we have a repressed demand. Also, many are fighting at the Defenseman sight and carrying that over here, personally I think that should stop as it just gives them more breath. But to each his/her own.
Kids went back to school last week, so we have shifted from summer fun to scholastics again. The left coast here says goodnight.

When did he get banned from 1.0 and for what?

  203. Bob in Breckenridge
    204 | August 23, 2009 10:08 pm

BTW, I’m not implying that our open threads can’t be or aren’t interesting, just that I’ll let others do it. We don’t have the registered users yet that 1.0 has, but we also don’t ban those we disagree with.
And a lot of those at 1.0 seem to know we’re here, since they’re so obsessed with us.
They claim we’re obsessed with them, but if you compare the number of registered users they have after all these years (thousands, but maybe 10% post regularly or occasionally) to the relatively few we have, the ratio is not even close.
Hells bells, Nancy has probably banned more of his readers than we have registered here. But that’s okay. We’ll take our quality over his quantity any day of the week.
And we NEVER ban anyone for having a different opinion, no matter whom they disagree with.
    Can you read that, SanFranciscoZionist?
