So you think we have a “mania” of sorts with Obama (as a country) as Germany did with Hitler?

    I do so.

But Obama doesn’t have the mustache. There’s also the whole “killing 6 million Jews” thing that separates them.

Stills of rallies could be used to make any politician look like Hitler (or Kennedy or Mick Jagger).

There are some parallels. The Hitler Youth songs thing. Very creepy. But that also looks like Kim Jong Il (a more apt likeness in terms of attitude and cultish mind control, than wheeling out Hitler, which is silly and diminishes the case, IMHO)

    @ savages_girl:

As far as I am concerned, extreme idol worship leads to genocide. Obama may NOT have that in mind, however he is surrounding himself with certain people that have NO problem with genocide.

George Soros comes to mind. He is the WORST TYPE of person alive. A Hungarian Jew who assisted the Nazis with the Final Solution.

Oh, Jeez, Savage. First let me give you a tongue lashing for violating Godwin’s law. Having done that, yes, there are parallels. And by saying that, I’m saying less about Obama (who is somebody else’s tool) than I am about his bots, who are potentially as fanatical and dangerous as the Nazis.

Of course, one big difference is that all these stupid Obama songs and crap are the products of moonbat teachers, rather than an edict from the Department of Education.

When it comes to that, I’ll start to worry. I already assume that most public school teachers are moonbats.

Sorry. You didn’t see my tongue in my cheek.

But seriously, it bothers me when people (cough 1.0 cough) cheapen the Holocaust by calling climate skeptics “deniers”. This is an area where I tread cautiously, but as I said, I think this is fair. I challenge any leftist moonbats to try to find similar imagery and idolatry toward Bush, or Cheney, or even Reagan.

  23. 23 | November 8, 2009 2:24 pm

I think that the parallel ends with the “cult of personality” aspect, which which is as old as mankind itself.

The whole [fill in the blank] = Hitler simply diminishes the evil that Hitler embodied. When Obama goes the genocide route, I’ll revisit that opinion.

The overuse of “racism”, “Nazi” and Hiltler depletes our discriptors and waters down our language to the point where it’s meaningless, political babble.

If Bush was Hitler in the eyes of the left, and Obama is Hitler in the eyes of the Right, then who the hell was Hitler?

Soros may have learned more from the Nazis at 14 than even he realizes. Yes, he does exhibit a lot of sociopathic symptoms, namely the need to control and a complete lack of remorse for his actions during the Holocaust. Considering the sheer horrer he must have witnessed, when viewed from the perspective of time and history, for him to say he does not regret it is breathtaking.

A shame and a scandal for a nation that many like to tout as “exceptional”, and one that many more nonetheless hold up as a model for other nations to emulate.

But as I and other said, there’s the analogy for the charismatic leader, and there’s the analogy for the fanatical followers. While there’s no hard evidence of Obama being as evil as Hilter, it’s his followers who are scary.

The follower analogy stands. Yes, I do think that enough of them would be willing to do those kinds of things.

All of that aside, it’s certainly unseemly in a democracy to engage in this kind of idol worship of a politician. Even the FDR worshipers never went to these banana republic lengths. This isn’t how it’s done in a democracy.

Ralphieboy apparently finds nothing “exceptional” about the U.S & nothing to make it worthy of a role model. Yet he won’t leave.

Even if ralphieboy’s “40+million uninsured Americans” figure is correct (which I doubt), that’s 13% of the population. That leaves us with 87% of the poulation who are insured.

The Bill that was just passed requires (under penalty of law) that everyone purchase some sort of health insurance. This indicates to me that a healthy portion of that 13% are young, healthy individuals who do not consider health insurance a priority, whether they can afford it or not.

It just seems to me that dealing with the 13% would have been a lot easier, and cheaper, than scrapping the current system, screwing the 87%, and making life miserable for 100%.

Simple things like allowing health insurance companys to go market between states and reform of malpractice laws would have been small, incremental steps that would have helped.

As for the 13%, let’s see who they are and find out their situation before we scrap the whole system on their behalf.

I sincerely believe that this is part of the “never let a good crisis go to waste” mentality of this administration; they have turned a “problem” into a “CRISIS!!” in order to nationalize a very large portion of our economy. Even in full view of this naked power grab, they dare to still bristle at the word “socialism”.

If this is not a classic example of socialism, what is it?

    http://townhall.com/columnists/DennisPrager/2009/03/24/why_doesnt_communism_have_as_bad_a_name_as_nazism?page=full&comments=true

    /Dennis Prager

    Excerpts:

Why is it that when people want to describe particularly evil individuals or regimes, they use the terms “Nazi” or “Fascist” but almost never “Communist?”. Given the amount the human suffering Communists have caused – 70 million killed in China, 20-30 million in the former Soviet Union, and almost one-third of all Cambodians; the decimation of Tibetan and Chinese culture; totalitarian enslavement of North Koreans, Chinese, Vietnamese, and Russians; a generation deprived of human rights in Cuba; and much more — why is “Communist” so much less a term of revulsion than “Nazi?”. There are Mao Restaurants in major cities in the Western world. Can one imagine Hitler Restaurants? Che Guevara T-shirts are ubiquitous, yet there are no Heinrich Himmler T-shirts. This question is of vital significance. First, without moral clarity, humanity has little chance of avoiding a dark future. Second, the reasons for this moral imbalance tell us a great deal about ourselves today.
    . . .
Until the left and all the institutions influenced by the left acknowledge how evil communism has been, we will continue to live in a morally confused world. Conversely, the day the left does come to grips with communism’s legacy of human destruction, it will be a very positive sign that the world’s moral compass has begun to correct itself

Israel is working on a warning system that will calculate the precise location of where a rocket will hit and alert residents in the area using cell phones, a newspaper reported on Sunday.

“The rocket sensor will create a virtual ellipse (of the predicted impact zone) and all phones in that area will receive a warning,” the Jerusalem Post quoted Chilik Soffer, a senior official at the Israeli Home Front Command, as saying.

“We will use communications technology to send the signals and we are now working with the communications ministry to make the alert available,” he said.

The alert will come in as a vibration, audio alert, light flash or text message, he added.

The aim is to make more specific the air raid systems that Israel currently has in communities near the border with Lebanon and Gaza, which have in the past come under regular rocket fire from Hezbollah and Palestinian militant groups.
They will need all they can get. Be fireworks soon as Iran pushes President wee on Israel.

IF (supposedly)40 million uninsured Americans (13%) is a reason to nationalize the Health Care system, is 10.2% unemployed Americans a reason to nationalize the entire economy?

“Man Child” is a term which was popularized in the early-mid Sixties by Claude Brown’s rather lurid autobiography “Man Child in the Promised Land,” about growing up in Harlem in the period right after WWII when drugs were really taking hold on the population. It is a subtle playing of the race card.

I find comparisons between Obama and Hitler simultaneously compelling and extremely stupid. Compelling because it has been said many times, quite accurately, that when fascism comes to the US it will be in a homegrown form, different from its prior forms—and there are, certainly, parallels between the mass-marketing of Obama and the mass-marketing of Hitler.

That said, I find such comparisons stupid because the clear differences between the two, and the fact that Obama has not run on such an overt platform of race hatred as Hitler, makes any comparison between the two, and anyone who makes such a comparison, liable to dismissal out of hand on grounds of paranoid lunacy.

“Obama = Hitler” comparisons are a way to ensure that opposition to Obama’s actual initiatives will remain weak and on the fringe. And for that reason, I reject them.

    Nah, not like Hitler.

I don’t think Obama is actively evil. Almost psychotically self-absorbed and narcissistic? Oh yes. Power hungry? Yes. But I don’t think he has objective designs to slaughter people.

Try Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge. They were among the best educated people in Cambodia. They were from good families. They studied at the Sorbonne (Khieu Sampan wrote his doctoral thesis on his plans for Cambodia). They honestly believed that their socialist theories would bring about a utopia. It brought the killing fields instead.

Beware of idealists flogging hope and change.

That’s because of the nature of the rockets they’re firing, and their erratic flight paths.

If they were using standard rockets, mortars, or artillery, it would be much simpler. The Israelis have the same counterbattery radars we use, which allow us to return fire before the incoming rounds even hit in many cases.

They weren’t designed to track giant bottle rockets, however.

Simply because one of the blog writers chose to link to a rather sophomoric YouTube video scarcely means the blog is about to self-destruct. It’s useful to know what other people are saying, even if we don’t agree with them 100%.

About the only similarities between Obama and Hitler are their narcissism and the ability to mesmerize large crowds and inspire virtual worship in some of their followers. Their speaking styles are hugely different. And Hitler had better tailors, and traveled in classier automobiles.

The video speaks more to the parallels in image between the two politicians, and not at all to the nuts and bolts of their agendas.

Hitler like Obama drove his country in to near bankruptcy. War was Hitlers solution and indeed plan all along who knows what the Obamanation has in store.
