ramitI just had to post this picture…Hat tip to Denny.

BEIJING (AP) – The Chinese have learned English from his speeches and celebrated the way he rolls up his sleeves. Now President Barack Obama is finally coming, and he’s being greeted with “Oba Mao” T-shirts and a statue of him that bursts into flames. Sunday’s arrival of a U.S. president admired for his charisma is already a source of profit and brief fame for some Chinese.

Strangest is the burning Obama, tucked away in a Beijing warehouse. Artist Liu Bolin hopes Obama can take time from his visit to drop by.

“He’s so hot right now, so I wanted to translate that through my work,” said Liu, who was inspired by the idea of the first black U.S. president.

The bronze Obama bust is modeled on Time magazine’s “Man of the Year” cover and is speckled with holes for gas that ignites every couple of minutes.

It’s a positive work, Liu said.

“Yes, setting something on fire can have negative connotations, but this piece represents energy and life that Obama has given to the world,” said the 38-year-old, who made a similar piece for former revolutionary leader Mao Zedong.

“We’re eager to see what he can do for China and U.S. relations.”

One Beijing shop owner wanted to see what Obama could do for sales. Liu Mingjie created “Oba Mao” T-shirts, with the president wearing the uniform of the Red Guards, who caused chaos during the Cultural Revolution in the 1960s.

“It’s just kind of avant garde,” Liu said of the images, saying they were no longer political, just fashion.

He sold hundreds of the shirts, to both foreigners and Chinese, until authorities told shops selling the shirts to stop.

“They’re not allowed to sell these things because there are images of Obama wearing the uniform of the Red Army,” a woman answering the phone at the Dongcheng district Administration for Commerce and Industry said Thursday.

Ya notice Obama always says we and the Russians have to reduce our nukes, but he never mentions the china? Maybe somebody should clue him into china’s arsenal?

    Lyndon B. Obama.

    B. O. Johnson.

One just a dumb as Texas drunk, the other drunk on himself.

Lyndon allowed the NVA trucks to operate arms supply lines running at night on the trails in Laos with head lights on running 10 mph 50 at a time. We could hear the engins running, the drivers talking, had to not fire per orders. Sometimes we made a few mistakes, the Generals would have f’n fit. Moved the border via tricked maps, they never caught that one.

Same f’n thing is going on now, Iran and Russia rather than N. Vietnam and Russia.

Russia is the problem, it gave birth to this commie shit, and it has armed every one from 1950 to this hour who kill American fighting men.

We the People are the ones being killed, we need to end it. The two party evil money cult in D.C. just sucks off the juice and buys gold.

    IMO

Obama is very much a Maoist, as is any neo-Marxist or member of the New Left (post 60′s Left.) By that I don’t mean that he is in favor of killing tens of millions of people. I’m just talking about the basic ideology.

The whole country/peasant/3rd World/’colored’ vs. city/urban proletariat/industrialized world/ ‘white’ scheme in neo-Marxism comes mainly from Mao. Of course it is buttressed by the whole European tradition of Romanticism. The ‘noble savage’ and return to nature stuff.

One of the most telling passages in Obama’s Dreams was when he confessed that Europe was nice, but meant absolutely nothing to him. HEY HEY HO HO.

Odd thing is that the Chinese are often as racist as they come. Of course, those so inclined are just as likely to look down their noses at the white devils, but you’ve still got to think that many of them will be looking for a prehensile tail on Obama.

—with apologies to Ringo Starr and “Oh, My My”

    Elected Obama
    To fix up the nation,
    But he went a-travelin’,

    Soon as he arrived
    He started with the jive
You know how he appears to me?
ObaMao Mao, ObaMao Mao, for photo ops he’s on the prowl
ObaMao, Mao, ObaMao Mao, can’t govern, he don’t know how
ObaMao Mao, ObaMao Mao, for the US he’ll throw in the towel

    Wherever he goes, he
    Is apologetic
    If you love this country
    You’ll find it pathetic
    He disses “teabagging”
    Which will start you gagging
    Here’s how it appears to me . . .

    Economic slow down,
    Employment is low down,
    Don’t call for impeachment,
‘Cause it’s out of reach, but,
    Don’t have a conniption,
    You know the prescription,
    The Election Day remedy.

    Chaim Moshe “Todah” (Thank you!)

    Lyrics:

Thanks for all that You’ve created,
Thanks for what You’ve given me.

    Verse 1
    For our eyesight,
    A friend or two,
For what I have in the world.
    For the song which flows,
    And a forgiving heart -
Because of all this -- I exist.

Thanks for all that You’ve created,
Thanks for what You’ve given me.

    Verse 2
    For a child’s laughter,
    And the blue sky,
For the earth -- and a warm home.
    A corner to sit in,
    A loving woman,
Because of all this -- I exist.

Thanks for all that You’ve created,
Thanks for what You’ve given me.

    Verse 3
    For a day of happiness,
    Innocence and honesty,
For the sad day -- which passed and disappeared.
    Two thousand cheers,
    and hands clapping.
Because of all this -- I exist.

    Yes, for example, Darkie Toothpaste.
    It’s been renamed “Darlie”…

However, the Chinese name of the brand, “黑人牙膏” (in English, “Black Man Toothpaste”), has not changed; in fact, a Chinese-language advertising campaign reassured customers that “Black Man Toothpaste is still Black Man Toothpaste”. This is because the term “黑人” does not have any negative meaning in Chinese. The phrase 黑人 (hēi rén) in Chinese is a general term for persons of sub-Saharan African descent

a few thoughts on the trial of KSM from justonewminute

Let me ask a silly question -- is the 9/11 Commission report prejudicial? I don’t see the word “alleged” being tossed around in their description of KSM’s background and activities. So what would a fair trial look like -- any juror in Manhattan familiar with the 9/11 attack and the ensuing government investigation would be barred? Who would that leave in the jury pool -- the utterly clueless and people who are familiar with the 9/11 Commission results but figure the government lies all the time? Great news for prosecutors.

The PowerGuys ask a much better question:

Ask yourself this question: suppose that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed’s trial results in an acquittal or a hung jury. Would the Obama administration really let him go? If so, they are crazy. If not, why are they holding the trial?

I lived in Taiwan for a few years and my soon-to-be wife is Taiwanese. In fact, I’m proudly sporting my Tai ke t-shirt today. This is definitely a potential problem. A jury of his peers would imply Muslim jihadis. Where and how do we find a jury? I was imagining a scenario of one Muslim getting on the jury (excluding them would be “racist”) and hanging it. It wouldn’t even have to be a Muslim. It could an America hating lefty who believes we got what we had coming and that water boarding this jihadi was so terrible he should go free.. I really think Zero is trying to destroy America.

Barry has gone around the world disrespecting this country & called us arrogant among other things. Water seeks it’s own level, his wife was never proud of her country until it was clear that BHO would get the nomination. She called America A “mean” country.
I think that they harbor real & imagined racial grievances. IMO they are racists.

Lest we forget, until recently in the UK, a certain shade of brown was referred to as “(pejorative deleted)-brown”. There are people in the world that do not understand how some terms come across. It’s not malice--it’s ignorance.

    OT- I was momentarily confused.

I’m on several email lists for leftist groups and Emily’s List just sent one with the header “Stop Stupak!” But that’s what we wanted to do too!?

    @ RIX:

The irony is they bring in these Muslim Doctors. I know plenty of Doctors from Latin America that speak English, They would integrate better than the Islamo-Colonialists.

But again, they are Christian, we need to diversify!

They are racists, of the worst order. They blame America for everything going wrong in the world.
Yet look how blessed they are. All the opportunities from this country laid at their feet.
And not a word of thankfulness. Just scowls and frowns and ugly words that they have been deprived.
It is so disgusting that such trash is in the White House. ugh.

Poor, uneduacated Latins & all Muslims are in.
Educated, proffesional Latins are viewed by progressives as part of the oppressor class & to be kept out, so that the Middle Class does not grow. Therefore , they must be kept out.

Yep. A lot of times it is the emotional baggage attached to the word, not the word itself.

For example, from a grammatical point of view, there is very little difference between “person of color” and “colored people.” WE know, of course, the background of each term, but a person on the other side of the world may not.

They clearly feel entitled. Things have been handed to them their entire lives. BHO by his own admission was a drugged up, drunken high school student with bad grades.
Yet he gets an academic scholaship to college & fast tracked to the Ivy League.
Michelle still whines thst she wrote a poor ACT, you know socities fault, yet she goes to the Ivy League.
They are bitter & ungrateful, but this country elected him. Go figure.

    You nailed it!!!!!!!!!!!!

My family is Upper Middle Class Latin so I totally get what you are saying!

Allahmark is opening up a new greeting card line for the Muslim community to express their sympathy at times like this.

You know your place in Allah’s story,
He knows your faithful heart is true.
God’s eye has seen you spread his glory
    Your virgins are awaiting you.

Do not despair, submit to fate.
Our struggle will not ever cease
    Until the day we celebrate
The world’s acceptance of our peace.

OK--buzz has inspired me. This is “Reviewing the Situation” from “Oliver”. Enjoy. I don’t have a tip jar to hit, but comments are welcome.

    A mans got a heart,
    Hasn’t he?
    Joking apart,
    Hasn’t he?

And though I’d be the first one to say that
    I wasn’t a saint
I’m finding it easy to be
really as Red as they paint

    I’m Reviewing,
    The Constitution
You all know I’ve been a Maoist all my life.
Here come the show-trials and executions
Just settle down or I’ll feed you to my wife.

And the wife would prosecute for me
and still put on something cute for me
And enemies she would bag at me
But the fingers she would wag at me
The money she would make me spend
    My misery would never end

I think I’d better think it out again…

    My wife, you can keep
    anyway
    I’d rather seem deep
    anyway

I’m so far to the Left, I seem out of this world
    and I’m starting from now

I need to scare friends and terrify people
    but how?

    I’m Reviewing,
    The Constitution
I must quickly lock up everyone I know
Accuse people -- on that Fox station
That will make a real impressive show
I will control the news networks
They will be my new brown-shirts
and worship me all the time
    such toadiness will be sublime
So much for the vaunted Fourth estate
    But will this revolution generate!

I think I’d better think it out again

    So where shall I go
    somebody
    Who don’t I owe?
    Everybody.

All my dearest companions have always been villains and thus
So at my time of life I should keep pushing them under the bus

    I’m Reviewing,
    The Constitution
If you kiss my feet, you’ll get a federal job
    For such a little humiliation
You’ll get such perks like ticket to see Les Miserables
    So jobs I’ll give recklessly
Just so they know who the boss will be
I’ll get them all to take for me
The bonuses you will be great for me
But we may not get too far
Because the Senate never approved my czars!

I think I better think it out again
I think I better think it out again

    What happens --2010
    Must come a time-- 2010

    When the Party’s a mess
and who cares what you did at the start
    Your one consolation’s
the voters’ memories are so damn short

    I’m Reviewing,
    The Constitution
I’m a bad one and a bad one
    I shall stay

    You’ll be seeing, no transformation
Despite what the right-wing blogs have to say

SEIU will go and hurt for me
while NBC digs the dirt for me
The health care mess was not from me
Still it’s getting too hot for me

There is no middle-ground for me
but no one’s ’round to worship me
Need some one to plead for me
Blame Nancy and Harry Reid–not me!

I think I’d better think it out again!
