The Other Occupied Territory

The Progressives rail against Israel for “occupying” Arab lands. As a Catholic Christian I think this is crap. The Israelis have every right to that land as it was given to them by God in the Old Testament (Torah). The Israelis also treat the Christians with much more respect than the Imperialists ever did in their Colonial time period. That said, no one ever discuses another “occupied territory”, which is Northern Cyprus.

Cyprus has been historically Greek territory since Ancient times. In 1974 Turkish Islamo-Imperialist illegally invaded and occupied Northern Cyprus. To this day not a peep comes out of the Transnationalist Progressive movement about this occupied land. The only nonsense you hear is about the fictional nation of “Palestine”. Well screw the Palestinians, who are really Arab-Imperialists colonialists. How about the Greeks who’s land has been occupied?

Here is a video about this act of aggression.

It’s in Greek but you can get the idea of Turkish Aggression.

Here is a protest about Occupied Cyprus.

Even the Leftist EU has condemned the Imperialist Occupation of Cyprus.

Cyprus exists, Palestine doesn’t!

Long live a free Greek Cyprus!

This is an Open Thread as well.

You never heard anything about Syria’s brutal occupation of Lebanon.
Jordan just revoked the citizenship of it’s palestinian population.
If Israel revoked the citizenship of it’s arab population, the world would explode.

OT They got over 1100 post on the stalker site, must be a big fight over there.

BOT Turkey blew their chance to get into the E.U. because of Cyprus, so now they’ve align themselves with Iran and Russia.

    @ mjazz:

Agree, Lebanon is occupied by Iraqi Shia and Syrian Sunni. It is Occupied Christian Territory.

New alliances are being formed all the time, just look at Russia and Iran and the billions of dollars in arms deals, I’m sure the Russians wouldn’t mind selling a whole bunch of stuff to Turkey.

OT I just caught the tail of the last thread, it seems like there’s a lot of mature discourse going on at the swamp./

Hey the point of this thread is the hypocrisy of the Left’s support of “Palestine”. What about Cyprus?, It’s actually really occupied.

How about Britain’s occupation of Gibraltar?

How about China’s occupation of Tibet?

    How about…leaving Israel alone??

    I agree Rodan.

It was stupid for Moshe Dayan to have given the key to the Temple Mount and the Dome of the Rock to the Muslim leaders…

They could have appropriated the Temple Mount when they took East Jerusalem back in 1968…and razed the Dome of the Rock.

Did you know the Dome of the Rock was built as an polemic against Christians?? It was built by the Christian Orthodox prisoners from the Byzantine Empire and it had Byzantine style.

    Good morning, y’all.

Bottom line: Israel has a RIGHT to her land because she defended and won it on the battlefield. She does does have he land because God said so (although I personally agree with this, it is not a valid secular argument) or because the British (or anyone else) “gave” it to her or because she “deserves” it as a result of the Holocaust. Her people set her borders, planted their flag, and shed their blood for their claim. They won. Game over.

The dangerous precedents that will come of trying terrorists in public court will be ponderous. It will grind the already overburdened federal justice system to a halt.

Leftist lawyers will file appeal after appeal, ensuring mass confusion and show would-be jihadis it will be worth it to strike the infidel.

No my friends, this isn’t due to ignorance or lack of experience. There is no doubt this is a willful act to turn the greatest country on earth, into third world status.

Try a forensic examination of Genesis Chapter 1… Remove the word day and replace it with indeterminate time period, then compare the sequence of events depicted in Genesis with those depicted in the theory of evolution. They are virtually identical.

Genesis deals with WHY creation happened, scientific evolution refuses to discuss that question and instead restricts itself exclusively to the mechanics of how it happened.

Only those with a ideological agenda insist that there has to be a conflict between the two concepts, they both deal with exactly the same event, they just happen to do so from completely none intersecting vantage points.

Instead of attempting to interpret the evidence, which is pretty indisputable, try asking a completely different question.

How did the people who wrote the book of Genesis some 3500 years ago know the sequence of events that took place? Where did they get that information? They did not have scientific methodology or the technological resources required to gather and analysis the data. they had to have been incredibly intelligent, far more intelligent than anyone currently alive, or someone had to have told them.

Remember, the book of Genesis has the sequence of event correct from the Big Bang right up to when Human beings first appear on the face of the earth. You don’t just randomly guess a sequence of events that complex and get it right.

    @ Beltfed:

Just getting caught up on the overnight 1.0 train wreck myself.

The following defining excerpt from a Dark Turkey post would be funny if it weren’t so pathetic:

[snip]…And I am scared of what’s going to happen when Charles sees the flame wars in here.[/snip]

This sentiment gets echoed daily in dysfunctional households across the land by fearful children of abusive parents:

“Oh no! What is Daddy going to do to us when he gets home??!!”

Falcon, seriously, Dude. Get out of there. It’s just a blog.

    On a happier note:

    HAPPY B-DAY, M!!

    @ tommy torquemada:

I remember one night when the “door was open” godblogger was on a banning spree, warning us not to register sock puppets. Apparently someone (who shall remain nameless) was warned on the blog not to do it. Charles called them out and said “I know its you!!” etc. Well this particular poster who allegedly registered a sock puppet BEGGED Charles not to ban them. I mean groveled. It reminded me of “The Dark Crystal” and the Skeksis. It literally made my stomach turn. I said to myself “fck this shit” and went about doing something else on my computer.

This is the visual I got EVERY time someone was banned.

    @ doriangrey:

The word day (i.e God’s day) is ok in Genesis especially when you realize that HE didn’t put our clock (the Sun – to count the seasons) up until verse 14.

Thanks {Vapig} {Chickadee}! The alternative to having a birthday is not making it to one, so I guess I need to just hush! lol

Ya, I am aware of that, but for some strange reason getting most people to grasp that a day, as referenced in Genesis 1 doesn’t mean a 24 hour period is incredibly difficult. Doesn’t matter if you point out to them that the earth wasn’t created until the third day.

Straight out impossible for a day to represent a 24 hour period which coincides with the rotation of the earth if there is no earth until three days after creation began. It is therefore logically impossible for a day as represented in Genesis 1 to have literally been 24 hours.
