BREAKING: Sen. John Kerry’s Daughter Arrested

by WrathofG-d ( 102 Comments › )
Filed under Democratic Party at November 19th, 2009 - 1:51 pm

This story pretty much speaks for itself.

Alexandra Forbes Kerry, the eldest daughter of Senator John Kerry, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Thursday morning.

The 36-year-old film producer and director was booked for misdemeanor DUI and has since been released on $5,000 bail, police said.

If John Kerry was my dad, I’d be drinking too.

As for his daughter, so what?

And Al Gore’s son did pot, and so on. I personally think this is a non-story. It doesn’t reflect on Kerry or negate his politics any more than a Bush daughter DUI or the Palin daughter pregnancy. Kerry is a scumbag because he lied before Congress about American troops and because he met with enemies of the United States while wearing the uniform of his country, not because his adult child does something.

    Wrath,

I thought the media should have laid off that one too. Maybe, just maybe, since the Bush daughters were 19 at the time you could argue that they were still kids and use that to tarnish Bush’s parenting abilities.

But for goodness sakes, Kerry’s daugther is whet 36? I don’t think this reflects on Kerry at all.

    YMMV

I put it into “Draft” to be put up later because it was posted nearly 1 minute after this one went up.

The Admins (and some Netizens) have discussed the problem with that sort of thing and we decided IIRC that we should wait a minimum between threads to allow those already posted to have time to be discussed.

If I am incorrect in our Administrative understanding, then please let me know.

I think you need to settle down a bit. I am not trying to “take over the site” nor do anything that wasn’t agreed upon by all Admins. If you have a grudge, take issue with the policy and bring it up to the Admins as a whole. I’m simply following the agreed upon rules. You know as well as anyone that I am just enforcing the rules we have all agreed upon. I know very well that I am just one of many Admins, and have to follow the rules we all agree upon, just like you do. As Admins, we’re equal here my friend.

As to the “more important” aspect of your comment, yes, you are correct. It surely is more important. I look forward to commenting on it when it is posted per Admin/Blogmocracy policy.

The step was not personal, I can assure you. Please do not take it that way. Ask any other Admin. This problem occurs a lot actually, and people’s threads are put into “draft” when posted right after another all the time.

The F in John F.n Kerry stands for Forbes. His maternal grandparents are from the Forbes family.

Interestingly, His Paternal grandparents were Jews that changed their names from Kohn to Kerry when they emigrated to the U.S. after the WWII.

    UPDATE:

Senator Kerry Responds: My Daughter Was Not Legally Drunk

“Alexandra Kerry was pulled over for an expired registration and was released after the results of a breathalyzer test at the police station were under the legal limit,” says Jodi Seth, spokeswoman for the Massachusetts Democrat. “Senator Kerry supports his daughter and will have no further comment on a private matter.”

Police Sgt. Enrique Mendoza tells PEOPLE that Alexandra Kerry was stopped by officers “for a DUI investigation” and brought to the Hollywood station, where “she identified herself as Sen. Kerry’s daughter.

I remember when I worked in a nightclub in a well to do area we used to have guys getting drunk and out control, when asked to leave the establishment they would yell “Do you know who my daddy is? He owns half this town” In which we would say “he doesn’t own this half” and then we would 86 them.

Another breaking news that’ll scare the bejeesus out of the global warming mongers if it’s true. The Hadley Climate Research Unit, which is part of/attached to the Met Office here in the UK, has been hacked and thousands of e-mails and files have been released, wherein top climate scientists casually discuss faking data, obfuscating results and ponder destroying their real data in order to prevent skeptics getting hold of it.

IF it’s true it’s a bombshell. The sheer amount of data makes it hard to think it’s anything but true but it will have to be confirmed. Hadley have already circulated an e-mail warning about the hack so it seems likely it will be proven true. This just might be the end of the AGW hoax.

I’d love to see some resident Blog scientists knickers get twisted in a knot about that at 1.0.

That doesn’t work so well if your dad is a banker, lawyer or doctor. If they were telling the truth then they were nothing more than another spoiled trust fund kid and it showed.

I am keeping my fingers crossed it is true and the proverbial cat finally scrambles out of the proverbial bag. Here is hoping… Because laughing in the mugs of these drooling true-believers would be most satisfying. Driving by them in a huge Jeep and splashing them with mud– priceless.

I’m all over the AGW leak, and while it won’t debunk the theory (sorry, guys), it is the Watergate of this issue (if not contaminated). It’s huge, but it’s going to be a bear to prove. Time for some subpoenas.

We have this from Steve McIntyre:

I made up a pdf of the emails to help browse through them and it’s over 2000 pages. Every email that I’ve examined so far looks genuine. There are a few emails of mine that are 100% genuine.

    It is really quite breathtaking.

I can’t see anything wrong with the files.

Fascinating reading, the emails open up really good in wordpad. default txt is notepad. Change your default to wordpad and click away!

I love this comment from Phil Jones: “Mike Mann refuses to talk to these people [skeptics] and I can understand why. They are just trying to find if we’ve done anything wrong.”

No shit, Sherlock. That’s the “pee review” part that you alarmists yammer about so much.

Wouldn’t this qualify as “civil disobedience” approved by Dr. James Hansen?

    Mike,

Can you delete any emails you may have had with Keith re AR4?
Keith will do likewise. He’s not in at the moment – minor family crisis.
Can you also email Gene and get him to do the same? I don’t
    have his new email address.
We will be getting Caspar to do likewise.
I see that CA claim they discovered the 1945 problem in the Nature paper!!

This is some seriously serious shiite, but it’s going to develop and build over time. Several people have invoked the Watergate analogy. I think we’re going to have hearings in the Senate, and probably the House of Lords in the UK. I don’t know if Reid can stop Inhofe from holding hearings, but if he tries, there will be hell to pay.

Sit tight. This is going to start blowing pretty hard.
