Charles “Icarus” Johnson is Officially a Collaborationist Progressive

by Rodan ( 279 Comments › )
Filed under Blogmocracy, LGF, Liberal Fascism, Open thread, Progressives at December 1st, 2009 - 10:20 am

It’s official. Charles “Icarus” Johnson is now a Progressive Collaborator. I have been documenting the Leftist attitude of this paranoid Conspiracy monger since May 2008. Many of you at the time thought I was exaggerating and smearing him. As time when on, the Netizens realized I was correct in my analysis that he was a Leftist. Voting with your collective feet, you assembled here and helped make this a great community. Many of you have taken me to task when my opinion was in error, for that I am grateful and hope you all continue to help me improve as a blogger.

Let us look at his lies and rebut them one by one.

1. Support for fascists, both in America (see: Pat Buchanan, Robert Stacy McCain, etc.) and in Europe (see: Vlaams Belang, BNP, SIOE, Pat Buchanan, etc.)

Fascism is a Progressive Ideology that conflicts with the Right’s individualism. RS McCain is a proud Southerner, not a Fascist. Pat Buchanan is reviled by most of the right and I have taken him to task plenty. As for the European Parties he mentioned, they are all not the same and they are around because of Islamic Imperialism and Colonialism. America is my concern, not Europe.

2. Support for bigotry, hatred, and white supremacism (see: Pat Buchanan, Ann Coulter, Robert Stacy McCain, Lew Rockwell, etc.)

Icarus is the pot calling the kettle black here. He is openly bigoted towards Christians, especially Catholics and Evangelicals. He has no right to even accuse others, when he himself is a bigot. RS McCain is NOT a White Supremacist, he is proud of his Southern heritage as I am proud of my Latin Heritage. Ann Coulter a racist? You have got to be kidding me, she has never espoused White Supremacist views.

3. Support for throwing women back into the DarkAges, and general religious fanaticism (see: Operation Rescue, anti-abortion groups, James Dobson, Pat Robertson, Tony Perkins, the entire religious right, etc.)

No Charles, that would be your side that wants to impose a Neo-Feudal dark age. It’s the collaborationist’s who support the Imperialist cause which oppresses women in their Empire. You are enabling their colonization, so you are the one who hates women’s rights. Abortion is not real women rights, equality under the law is!

4. Support for anti-science bad craziness (see: creationism, climate changedenialism, Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, James Inhofe, etc.)

It’s your side that is anti-Science. The Progressives are manipulating data for a political agenda. Does Climategate ring a bell? Of course not because you are in denial. As for Evolution, Creationism and Intelligent design, who cares! Evolution has not been proven nor has creationism!

5. Support for homophobic bigotry (see: Sarah Palin, Dobson, the entire religious right, etc.)

Give any examples of bigotry towards homosexuals? No of course not. Icarus will bring up gay marriage. That is not a right and people oppose it on cultural grounds, not because of hatred of gays! What people do behind close doors isn’t any of my business. The law protects all equally and that’s that!

6. Support for anti-government lunacy (see: tea parties, militias, Fox News, Glenn Beck, etc.)

So the Founding Fathers were lunatics? They were against the tyrannical British Colonial government of their time. We have a Totalitarian regime in power in Washington, DC now.  We are not supposed to resist it and protect our rights? Clearly by his logic he is admitting he is a Fascist. We have a right to oppose tyranny in this nation and I will continue to do so. Charles really wants to throw us in labor camps it seems.

7. Support for conspiracy theoriesand hate speech (see: Alex Jones, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Birthers, creationists, climate deniers, etc.)

This is a joke! Charles was claiming that Multinational Corporations and the Tobacco Industry are behind the opposition to the Global Warming Hoax. As we have noted here, many corporations are supporting the AGW hoax. Icarus, you are no one to accuse others of conspiracy theories since you make them up everyday. Also Glenn beck is speaking facts and has exposed many of Obama’s advisors as Marxists. Too bad Beck damaged your idol Obama, so go cry in the corner Nancy.

8. A right-wing blogosphere that is almost universally dominated by raging hate speech (see: Hot Air, Free Republic, Ace of Spades, etc.)

Your blog is very hateful of Christians so you are no one to speak. Think Progress, Daily Kos and Talking Points Memo are way more hateful than anything coming from the Right. Remember, it was the Left that started calling Bush Hitler and using the term NeoCon to insult Conservative Jews. Look in the mirror Charles and you will see hate.

9. Anti-Islamic bigotry that goes far beyond simply criticizing radical Islam, into support for fascism, violence, and genocide (see: Pamela Geller, Robert Spencer, etc.)

So resistance to Islamic Imperialism is bigotry. What is your solution Charles? You have none because you are a collaborator. Resistance is not bigotry, it’s about preserving our Nation and Civilization. If you don’t like it, go move to a Dhimmi nation.

10. Hatred for President Obama that goes far beyond simply criticizing his policies, into racism, hate speech, and bizarre conspiracy theories (see: witch doctor pictures, tea parties, Birthers, Michelle Malkin, Fox News, World Net Daily, Newsmax, and every other right wing source)

So we are supposed to blindly follow Obama? I say hell no. He is a Totalitarian Progressive Tyrant who doesn’t respect this nation. He is seeking to establish a Neo-Feudal system and we have every right to resist. If you don’t like the system this country has, which allows dissent, leave!

The American right wing has gone off the rails, into the bushes, and off the cliff.

The only one off the rails is Charles “Icarus” Johnson. Hi bigotry, collaborationist attitude and conspiracy mongering is in plain site. This blog and it’s Netizens have been vindicated by his actions. You dislike dissent and want an authoritarian regime in this Nation.

Well Charles, you can go to Venezuela. Rumor has it that Chavez needs a guitarist for his singing sessions. I’m sure you and him will get along just fine, tyrants always do!

Update: Andrew Sullivan is now praising Charles in his latest post. Charles is now officially allied with a hater of Israel. Nice friends you have there Charles, I knew you would turn on Israel and your actions of joining the side of Sullivan speaks volumes.

His lack of mention is for obvious reason. Us in toto.

By that I mean, Foster is reluctant to mention us on the grounds that this is a gathering place for his rejected, and as a blog that is up and coming, perceives us a threat. And why? Because we know him better than others in the blogosphere.

Islam was created as part of a criminal enterprise, and to this day it essentially remains a racket. Furthermore Islam denies the validity of all real laws, including the United States Constitution.

On what grounds can Islam claim protected status under the very First Amendment that it denies? I simply don’t see any.

    UPDATE:The 2009 Weblog Awards Update

We are in the running at The 2009 Weblog Awards

The nominations have been closed for the categories we have been nominated in.

    Best Blog – 7 nominations – vote 76
The first nomination is the one that counts. So far we are in second place. The blog in first place has 233 votes. But if one wanders over to the blog, there is no thread with over 30 posts. BS on this tally.

Best New Blog – 11 nominations –vote 79.
First place with no one even close.

Best New Political Blog – 6 nominations – vote 73
Second place. Again, behind a very small blog with way too many votes.

Best Online Community – 6 nominations– vote 58.
    Third place.

Best Conservative Blog–11 nominations– vote 85
First place with no one close.

Best Political Blog–1 nomination– vote 35.
We are still in second place, moving past third place Ace of Spades with 5 votes.

We are getting votes daily and picked up 25 since yesterday. And. in these 6 categories we are either 1st, 2nd or 3rd. Way to go Netizens.

If you have not voted for us yet, please do. And make sure the first nomination is voted on.

A careful look at Mr. Johnson’s case against Robert Stacy McCain reveals that his evidence for calling him a racist rests on a a statement that some people feel a “natural” antipathy to marrying someone of a different race.

One may argue whether this antipathy is “natural” or “cultural”, but it is certainly the case that a great many groups prefer in-group marriage.

Mr. Johnson will never modify his guilt-by-association prejudices. He relies on the smear in lieu of analysis.

Rodan, your arguments against Mr. Johnson are tu quoque counter-attacks. It is undeniable that he has biases, but he would regard them as good biases. Where it is important to argue with him is on his reasoning. He thinks of himself as an enlightened “anti-idiotarian”, but he is finding idiocy more and more on the right, deliberately blinding himself to the leftist idiocy that has already been mainstreamed, and absorbed, by him.

His scorn for anti-government feeling is one of his silliest political reflexes. The state and particular governing administrations are not to be confused. To attempt politically to stop the state from growing is not the same as threatening violence to a black president. Beck, Limbaugh, Coulter are not politicians, they are polemicists. They are less idiotic then any ideologue Obama has appointed tsar.

Somewhere at the bottom of Charles political and philosophical confusion is a guilty white lad more sensitive to being called a “racist” than being called muddle-headed, naive, contradictory, ill-informed, obdurate and paranoid.

Racism has become a proxy for morality and politics and it is used to avoid thinking about either.

Will there be a Fiskie this year?

Last year the LGF Idiotarian of the Year Award went to the Mainstream Media for their “non-stop, unseemly, worshipful, overwhelmingly biased coverage in favor of Barack Obama”.

By this rationale, surely Charles must be in the running for the 2009 Fiskie. I sincerely doubt he’ll have the sense of humor to put himself on the ballot and will probably ban anyone that dares suggest him for the award. That’s if he even runs the Fiskie this year. Since it represents disgust for proponents of the corrupt and silly liberal policies he now espouses.

12 months is a long time in politics. Especially when you do 1 180 degree spin and morph into everything you formerly despised.

Charles is now siding with the Islamists (those who he spent years calling the “Religion of Peace” with a great deal of sarcasm).

Never mind the honor killings; the execution of gays; the imprisonment and execution of people (women and sometimes even men) for adultery, i.e., sex; the dictatorships; the government ownership of the press; and the cultural popularity of screaming “DEATH TO AMERICA” AND “DEATH TO ISRAEL.”

His campaign against Creationists should have told us all where he was headed. Progressive Thought Police have been targeting those who believe in G-d and who believe the Biblical story of Creation for years. It’s a witch hunt and Charles has been deeply involved in it for years.

Barking moonbats like Charles regard it as a scandal to believe the Bible. Moonbats like Charles see Creationists’ thoughts as putting the whole country in danger.

There were times all the way through the LGF Years (the years where he was respected) when people would point out that Charles wasn’t a conservative. As I recall, he didn’t speak out in favor of Bush’s re-election in 2004 until almost the last minute.

He found a way to make money and to promote himself by courting conservatives and developing a large conservative community. He thinks he can convert this fleeting success to gain for himself as a barking moonbat website instead.

The liberals will never accept him. They have their own success to think about and they still see him as a war monger anyway.

He knows how to gather some stats to himself by trashing the side he pretended to agree with for years, but he’s only making things worse for himself.

Good article. Indeed CFJ is one sick puppy.

Some cheap advice: Watch overstatement; it weakens your argument. OBama is not yet a capital T Tyrant. He’s more like a sleazy hack liberal politician with a lot of creepy leftover sixties friends. He’s too much on the ropes to be a real tyrant or Tyrant as you say. LEave that to Mussolini and the big guys. (That doesn’t mean you don’t keep your eye on him – but clever understatement has more power. Watch how Glenn Reynolds does it, as an example.)

Regarding gay marriage, that may be the one area where Johnson is on the right side of history. Not that he would know. All he’s married to is his computer and his bike. People don’t count.

Post 9/11 Charles had an epiphany that brought him in alliance with Bush and the War on Terror. By doing that he attracted conservatives in overwhelming numbers that made his blog appear to be a conservative site. And to many ignorants on the left and right, they still see him and his site in that same light. But, if one were to read the archives, as I did once landing there, there is no doubt that Foster was and always has been a Leftist.

As the site grew, due to the many bright conservative writers and thinkers that congregated there, it attracted even more conservatives. I’m now certain this was pebble in his left shoe.

Then somewhere between 2007-08- I don’t recall exactly- Foster began to comment, and he found that many other bright writers and thinkers there agreed with his slowly revealing and creeping Progressiveness, and he began to post entries that gave clear delineation of just who would be allowed to post there. Thus began the ‘my way, or the highway’ banning threads. And it continues to this very day.

This 1.0 Contract with the Left is the Hammer of the Cult, and serves to rid his blog of any association with the Right completely.

The Left deserves him and he will fit nicely in the Den of the Deceived.

I didn’t quite follow their argument, I got the impression that after some unspecified date people should simply ‘know better’ and so therefore deserved the pejorative ‘creationist’ (unlike Newton, who preceded this unspecified date). Some (slightly paranoid) speculation here re Chazz:

Years ago, I read a book about the life and career of uber-loon Lyndon LaRouche. The author traced his history as a public figure, and found out that he’d started his activist career as a middle-aged Marxist organizer and ideologue at Columbia University. Being a talented speaker and thinker, LaRouche attracted a fair number of followers, and formed a Trotskyist/New-Left fusion group to organize the people around him.

Some time in tbe mid-70s, LaRouche announced that he was abandoning Marxism, and instead pursuing a sort of statist pseudo-capitalist ideology — essentially crossing over to the Other Side. Most of his followers left, but there remained a small group who’d invested so much time, energy and emotional loyalty in the man that they too went along with the radical change, and became the core of the LaRouchite movement we see today.

Is it possible that Chazz did this as well? I don’t think he pursued such a strategy consciously – he’s too obviously flaky and mercurial for such cold-blooded cadre-building – but the parallels are obvious. The difference here, of course, is that LaDouche did this to create an absolutely loyal following of hardened activists and organizers, whereas all Chazz has to show for his conversion is the online adulation of a handful of borderline-Aspergers cases.

Military academy students protest ‘Shalit deal at any price’
    Published: 12.01.09, 20:10 / Israel News
Students of military academies called on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to thoroughly examine the many sides of a possible prisoner swap deal for kidnapped soldier Gilad Shalit before approving it.

In letters sent to Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak, the students wrote, “We must not release prisoners ‘at all costs’, out of a long-term vision and concern for the safety and national strength of Israeli society.” The letter adds, “Despite the pain, we believe a country that loves life must not capitulate to the worst of terrorists.” (Hanan Greenberg and Kobi Nahshoni)

Maybe he thought others would do the same as we once did, and that is not happening anymore, so he now begs for moola.

Like I said above, I’ll take no sooner than a year from now for the first LGF post bemoaning some ‘bad-craziness’ on the left, tacking right following the prevailing (I hope) political headwinds. But on the whole I think he’s given us a lot less to talk about now that he’s officially added his inconsiderable intellect to the leftist brain trust.

1.0 will never be as big as Huff Po or some of the other lefty blogs. Huff Po has topics which have thousands and thousands of comments on them.

1.0 is now merely another run of the mill, hateful lefty blog which practices censorship on an unprecedented scale. There is a real nasty atmosphere over there with constant infighting, bickering, intolerance and bigotry in every topic.

Dingo ate a long post about just turning our backs and moving forward.

here’s about a fourth of it, the intro:

don’t contribute much to this or any blog. I didn’t over at the other place either. I stumbled upon it in late ’03 when I was so pissed at the left coming out overtly against American interests and GB. I decided to start surfing blogs to see if there was a place for fellowship or at least comfort in knowing that there were like minded people of consequence in the world, and that all was not lost against the leviathin. I found such a place there amongst those off you who made your internet homes there.

I primarily spent the bulk of my time as an LGF habituite looking for information. It served as a clearing house for information on the WOT and all things ME studies without having to surf my favorites. There are many other sites of significance now that can serve the same informational ends and I gravitated toward them when he started commenting and shiting on his guests. I still went there daily for the link list index thing and stayed away from comments. For the most part I stopped reading them altogether when the assault on people’s faith began. I wasn’t aware of this place or the extent of the trend toward shuning, attacking, and banning when I found the witch doctor thread to be so ludicris and irrational that I thought fuck this asshole and posted in the threads comments eith the expectation of being tossed. My feelings were not hurt, I felt liberated.

Now to the present. We all need to forget about him, it, and them and move on. I would think everyone over there is aprised of this site and will come on over if they are of the diposition to appreciate uswill it. I obsessed over a divorce for nearly three years until I finally left the country to challenge my facilities to the point that my thought would be otherwise occupied. I sugest as much here in that we need to face the challenge that lay before us in restoring this Republic and forget about the figurative whore that has made a cuckold of our sympathies and dedication.

I went on in length about how emotionally wretching it is for some at blogmocracy, but that this ongoing emotionally driven intercourse feeds him, it, them and how it isn’t healthy and a waste of our talents and vigor. How it is best to stand down with this obsession and move forward at this pivtol moment to regroup and set bearings around the swamp to firm ground where we can confront and defeat the real enemy and not feed its milk maids with our effort. That and should be out of our conscious for they are fallen (nephilim)and beneath our noble mission, and would in due time be consumed by their own nature when they turn upon theirsleves and it shouldn’t concern us when they do.

and on and on but I guess you may get my drift.

it was just the humble opinion of a past and present infrequent poster, but a concerned observer of what has/is transpiring.

is the standard title for most of the DKos diaries.

    Hmmmm.

    #9 is especially ironic.

“Anti-Islamic bigotry”? Are you kidding me?
After 9/11, which web site was the definitive anti-islamic blog on the entire internet?? LGF!!

I remember even writing to Johnson saying that while I agreed with him on most issues, his anti-Muslim tone was putting a lot of people off. It was also the number #1 complaint about LGF at left-leaning blogs. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black!

And Andrew Sullivan praising him? Please… he never even knew LGF existed until the switch.

Charles Johnson Jumps the Lizard – from Saber Point

    271 John Rohan

My thoughts exactly. For several years, LGF was strongly anti-Islamic to the point that liberal blogs would accuse it of being “anti Muslim.”

As for Johnson’s list of reasons as to why he abandoned the right.

First of all, apart from being strongly in support of the War on Terror for a few years, Johnson was never truly “on the right” to start with.

The rest of his list is littered with misrepresentations of those with whom he disagrees, and I spotted a few double standards, too.

There are several points on his list that are true of him, true of LGF, and true of his main blog contributors that he says are his quibbles with the right wing.

I see “hate speech” coming from him, Killgore Trout, and the overall tone of his blog.

    Said Johnson:

    3. Support for throwing women back into the DarkAges, and general religious fanaticism (see: Operation Rescue, anti-abortion groups, James Dobson, Pat Robertson, Tony Perkins, the entire religious right, etc.)

I am a woman and don’t view the legalization of abortion as necessarily a “pro woman” or “feminist” practice.

If anything, some women who have undergone one say they deal with physical ramifications and regrets afterwards.

Some of the babies aborted are female. How is one female permitting the murder of a female who is residing in her womb “feminist?”

Lastly, as some have mentioned before, some liberal males support abortion because they would rather pay the $200 abortion fee than spend a life time paying child support. Liberal males do not have altruistic motives for their pro-abortion stance.

    Said Johnson:

    5. Support for homophobic bigotry (see: Sarah Palin, Dobson, the entire religious right, etc.)

I can only wonder how he defines “homophobic bigotry.”

These days, with progressives such as Johnson, it’s not enough to “live and let live,” or “agree to disagree,” you’re expected to toss your own convictions and morality out the window
    -and-
completely applaud, support, and agree with morals, lifestyles, and choices of those who adhere to an entirely different world view, one that you oppose.

“Tolerate” has been twisted and perverted by those on the left to mean “agree with” or “embrace.” Anything less than your full support is branded as being “bigoted.”

A person can disagree with homosexuality and disagree with homosexual marriage and not be a “bigot” who “hates” homosexuals.

    Johnson wrote,

    4. Support for anti-science bad craziness (see: creationism

Being in support of creationism is not ‘anti science.’

Funny thing is, some creationists are either scientists themselves or are fascinated by science and spend hours studying related topics (reading scientific journals, etc).

Johnson keeps begging the question on this point anyway. Nobody has ever demonstrated to me that macro-evolution is 100% true and beyond scientific scrutiny and questioning.

He’s assuming that macro-evolution is science, that it is scientific, or that it is “accepted, settled science.”

In my view, M.E.(macro-evolution) is based more on a naturalistic, atheistic world view and presuppositions from those vantage points- as well as wishful thinking, hope, and speculation- than it is on “science.”

    Johnson said

    7. Support for conspiracy theories and hate speech (see: Alex Jones, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Birthers, creationists, climate deniers, etc.)

Johnson has himself supported various conspiracy theories (e.g., supposedly the Discovery Institute is out to sneak I.D. into classrooms), and at some points Johnson has defended Obama appointees who dabbled in conspiracy theories (see Van Jones).

Johnson fully supports conspiracy theories if they line up with his own opinions.

    Said Johnson:

    8. A right-wing blogosphere that is almost universally dominated by raging hate speech (see: Hot Air, Free Republic, Ace of Spades, etc.)

This one makes me laugh the hardest.

It was Johnson’s bestest LGF buddy, Killgore Trout, who went on to another blog to refer to Michelle Obama (and black people in general) as “n*gg*ers” – and Johnson defended that!

The staggering amount of hypocrisy coming from Johnson on so many different topics is amazing.

    @ CloudyDay:

As a woman I couldn’t agree with your more. Abortion and feminism have absolutely nothing at all to do with women. It has more do do with women who hate other women for reasons too numerous to mention.

Those I know that bought into the abortion scam have seriously regretted their decision when they were old enough to understand and certainly when they finally had children. They couldn’t believe, when they looked into the eyes of their children, that they had done what they had done. Others who never had children and no longer can, wonder what if…

Abortion has always been about “free sex”, “free love”, and all that other 60′s bullshit. We’ve always had free choice…to have sex or not to have sex and suffer the consequences either way. And feminism and it’s aftermath have created generations of women who now have to work to support their families when that used to be done on one salary. And others now raise the children while both parents are off working long hours just to get by. But then that was always the lefts plan, now wasn’t it?

Like minorities, women were just another tool to be used and discarded.

Excellent post,Rodan. And ill add, anyone on LGF who sticks around after this load of extremely laughable lib talking points,is as empty as the head frogger himself. And those who were there years ago,and stick around are just as fake.

I agree this was Chuckles’ last attempt to generate traffic since his traffic chart looks worse than global cooling the last 10 years.

His blog is dying and this is his way of trying to drum up new business. It will backfire. He’ll get a small blip for a couple of days and then back to the normal freefall (we can smooth that blip out later with a few tricks learned from Phil Jones and Michael Mann).

Today was the death of LGF 1.0. Good riddance.

  275. 276 | December 1, 2009 23:31

I am sure someone has brought this up but I guess Chuck does not remember how many posts he started with ROP strikes again.

    Pot meet kettle indeed.

  276. 277 | December 2, 2009 07:35

Wow. I won’t go there and give him a site hit, but he is obviously blind to his own flaws. Many of those flaws are cited as reasons to split with the conservative population of this country. I also am confused as to why it’s okay for the left to protest – but not the right. His logic is gone.

LGF is a microcosm of his ideal society it seems.

No dissent. Paranoia leading to total control.

Jeez what a sick bastard that Andrew Sullivan is now. Funny but several years ago LGF and The Daily Dish were my first reads every morning when I turned on my computer.
