A Progressive Defense of Communism

Radical Totalitarian Progressive blogger, Charles “Icarus” Johnson, continues to show his far Left colors. He defends Communism and Mark Lloyd who is a supporter of Hugo Chavez.

Here is Icarus’ statement on Mark Lloyd:

Mark Lloyd: ‘I Am Not at the FCC to Restore the Fairness Doctrine ‘

Media | Fri, Dec 18, 2009 at 6:11:54 pm PST

Another target for the far right lately (led by Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh, of course) has been FCC Chief Diversity Officer Mark Lloyd, and a few days ago he fired back at the smear campaign: FCC’S Lloyd Blames ‘Right-Wing Smear Machine’ for Distorting Views.

Here are Mark Lloyd’s words in support of Progressive dictator Hugo Chavez and his control of the media.

His own words, supporting the actions of Chavez. But the spin continues. Charles claims that communists developed the Atomic bomb for the US.

18     Charles  Fri, Dec 18, 2009 6:27:11pm replyquote

Expanding on that point — I’m sick to death of the McCarthyesque BS being promoted by the right wing to drive out Obama appointees. It sucks. If we’d had people like Glenn Beck around in WWII, we never would have developed the atomic bomb — because Robert Oppenheimer was an outright communist sympathizer.

The country is not served by these kinds of smear campaigns.

Wow. So Charles claims Communism was the reason we got the Atomic bomb. Although Oppenheimer was a Progressive, he denied being an outright Communist.

Many debates over Oppenheimer’s Party membership or lack thereof have turned on very fine points; almost all historians agree he had strong socialist sympathies during this time, and interacted with Party members, though there is considerable dispute over whether he was officially a member of the Party or not. Oppenheimer himself, at his 1954 security clearance hearings, denied being a member of the Communist Party, but identified himself as a fellow traveler, which he defined as someone who agrees with many of the goals of Communism, but without being willing to blindly follow orders from any Communist party apparatus.

Regardless of his politics, the Manhattan Project involved other scientists so with or without him, we would of had the bomb.

Charles clearly is a Communist sympathizer and admits to being a radical Leftist.

It’s funny Charles says America is not served by purging Leftists, yet he wants to purge the Rightwing. He exposed himself as a Radical Progressives, he should leave America and move to Venezuela. Admit it Charles, you love Chavez!

This would be the dream of Icarus, to be a guitarist for his hero:  Hugo Chavez!

Charles “Icarus” Jonson is a Communist sympathizer!

Mark Lloyd wants a government commission to control talk radio and make sure at least half of it is leftist. This will be done in the name of “diversity” and local “needs.” The hope is that, by requiring conservative line-up stations to put out a lot of state propaganda, they will go broke.

NPR will be exempt from these regulations, just as it is exempt from the free market.

Okay. How about TV? How about the fact that 5 of the 6 networks w/ news are leftist? How about more “diversity” there?

“It should be clear by now that my focus here is not freedom of speech or the press. This freedom is all too often an exaggeration. At the very least, blind references to freedom of speech or the press serve as a distraction from the critical examination of other communications policies.” These are the words of Mark Lloyd himself. If pointing this out makes me a “McCarthyite” so be it.

“[T]he purpose of free speech is warped to protect global corporations and block rules that would promote democratic governance.”

Magically! Because they are supported by extorted tax-payers’ government money and contributions. They are non-profit. Therefore they are fair and express the will of the people!

Commercial radio, OTOH, is a capitalist enterprise. Just like —gasp!— Big Tobacco and Exxon.

Take a listen to this, its funnier than hell: Savage to Prince Charles: “Why don’t you learn how to speak English the way it should be spoken?” http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/200912180016#comments

  94. 94 | December 19, 2009 12:20 am

    @ theTarCzar:

The Rockefeller Republicans aka. Compassionate Conservatives are the problem. They actually are Progressives who mask as Rightwingers. Ask yourself, what is Conservative about sending US Troops to die for Muslims to have democracy? Keep in mind these are the same vermin that attacked us on 9/11. The correct response would of been to level a few of their countries and make an example. Compassionate Conservatism is Wilsonian Progressivism with a new name. The American people rejected the concept of Americans dying for others in 1920.

Tomorrow I have a post debuting what I call the Rodan Doctrine. It will explain what American foreign policy should be. Basically it’s destroying and humiliating our enemies. Not build schools and roads so Americans troops can dies for some academic concept.

Good morning everyone! Finally, I don’t have to bust my ass for a day or two.

Ok, tell me again why honest debate is expected from Wormtongue? I’ve forgotten.

Haven’t read the whole thread but thought I’d stop in to give you guys a smile.

Here in the hinterlands of Northern Virginia we’ve got about 4 inches on the ground so far -- another 10 or so expected in the next 24 hrs. (it’s almost 6:30 am) -- and the wind is groaning. Strange sound.

Anyhoo, yesterday morning I went to the grocery store to relieve them of their stock -- could not believe how crowded it was. Made it to and thru checkout. As the cashier handed me the receipt, she looked behind me and said “Now that’s the BEST combo I’ve seen yet”.

The gentleman behind be -- who was in his 70s if he was a day -- was buying a CASE of beer and 3 gallons of ice cream. He said “Well, I can’t take credit for it. The ice cream was my wife’s idea”.

Best laugh I had all day.

And this is for the ladies, because some girlfriends tell me this is a good story.

I think it was Jan of ’96 -- we hadn’t been in this house long. Hubby had to go to Mexico. And 20 inches -- at least -- came down on my head. I had to dig out by myself. It took days. So, I’m in the house taking a break when Mr. Clueless calls. Oh, Mexico is SO beautiful, the people are WONDERFUL, I had the BEST time at the pyramids, the women are GORGEOUS, you should meet CLAUDIA, and Honey, how are you?

I got some serious jewelry out of that one.

So. When we looked at the weather forecast yesterday morning, I looked at him and said “Um, is there some foreign country you can visit before this thing hits?”.

    Ach. Not enough advance warning.

    heh.

Back later. The heathen of the household are beginning to awake.

I was just perusing through that thread. The lack of reasoning on the left is incredible. “Diversity makes us feel good so what could be wrong with it.” They fail to recognize that the left knows they don’t have the political capital to reinstate the Fairness Doctrine, so they will try to use guys like Lloyd to use the “diversity of local control” to accomplish the same thing. It’s pretty transparent what he wants to do and how it will effectively end national talk radio which is very market driven.

    119 | December 19, 2009 3:40 am

Being a somewhat clueless male myself, I once did something similar. I was on a trip that made me a legend among the associates in my law firm. 10 days, 65 billable hours, SF seminar and sandwiched in the middle was a three-day trip to Pebble Beach. I called my wife from the pay phone near the first tee at Spyglass Hill. “Honey, it’s gorgeous, the emerald green fairways sweeps down the hill through a forest of majestic pines, the sky is bluer than you’ve ever seen with the gentle caress of an ocean breeze. That sound? It’s the seals barking on the rocks along the coast. By the way, how are things in Ohio? That much snow? Wow. Luv ya’, got to go tee off.”

It’s been 20 years and I still have not lived that one down.

  147. 147 | December 19, 2009 5:02 am

As I discussed in my blog post “The greatest evil ever invented.” The liberal progressive left in America, i.e read communists here, have adopted a win at all cost philosophy. It is the true strength and allure behind their philosophy.

All of their claims of social justice are lies and deceits serving the sole and exclusive purpose of allowing them to amass the power to silence anyone who disagrees with them. Charles “I want to be Joesph Stalin” Johnson is a perfect example of this philosophy in action.

As long as you parrot his opinions and ideologies you are a welcome member of his little society, stray from the path and you are punished with banishment. Their is no limit to what Charles Johnson is will to do to achieve what he believes is victory, no lie or deception that he cannot rationalize as being worthy of the goal.

For Charles and his vile ilk, the end indeed does justify the means used to achieve that end. Though the end is claimed to be a world of equality and justice there are no inequalities or injustices so repugnant that they are not acceptable means for achieving that supposed end.

The brutal truth is that Charles and his fellow travelers are not after anything even remotely resembling equality or justice, what they are striving to achieve is the ability to decide what constitutes equality and justice and who gets to distribute their versions of equality and justice.

In other words, it’s all about power and who gets to wield it. If they truly wanted or care about equality and justice they would subject themselves to the exact same standards they subject those with whom they disagree with too.

If Charles Johnson wants the equality and justice of socialism/communism/liberalism then he should subject himself to that equality and justice. Having disagreed with the majority of those who visit his site he should ban himself from Little Green Footballs, since in the truest form of communist/progressive/socialist equality and justice Little Green footballs doesn’t actually belong to Charles Johnson, it belong to the people who comment there.

You will never see this happen, because like all tyrannical totalitarian dictator wannabes Charles Johnson isn’t interested in equality or justice, he’s about power. Go eat the fruit of your own poison tree Charles, eat it with your communist friends like Hugo Chavez and Kim il Jong, raise your glass in toast to Joesph Stalin and Karl Marx.

    @ doriangrey:

I think the left is looking for equality of outcome, rather than equality of standard, and since they’re ‘holy’ and ‘sainted’, only THEY are capable of making those decisions.

That’s why we get the Chosen One whining “the Constitution is a document of negative liberties, says what the states can’t do to you, says what the federal government can’t do to you, but it doesn’t say what the federal government or state government must do on your behalf, and that hasn’t shifted.

“And I think one of the tragedies of the civil rights movement was that the civil rights movement became so court-focused, I think there was a tendency to lose track of the political and organizing activities on the ground that are able to bring about the coalitions of power through which you bring about redistributive change, and in some ways we still suffer from that,”
