Sen. Ben Nelson (Neb.) a so called Blue Dog Conservative Democrat has sold out to the Progressives. He has agreed to vote on the Senate version of the Healthcare Bill. He had refused initially to support it because of government funding of abortion. Instead the Progressives created an opt out for some states to refuse abortion coverage. States that stay with plans funding abortion, will still force people to pay for it. This is a Eugenics based plan that will promote abortion to “reduce costs”, that is the intent here.
Sen. Ben Nelson (Neb.), the final Democratic holdout on health care, announced to his caucus Saturday morning that he would support the Senate reform bill, clearing the way for final passage by Christmas.
“We’re there,” said Sen. Kent Conrad (D-N.D.), as he headed into a special meeting to outline the deal.
Democratic leaders spent days trying to hammer out a deal with Nelson, and worked late Friday night with him on abortion coverage language that had proved the major stumbling block. Nelson also secured other favors for his home state.
Under the new abortion provisions, states can opt out of allowing plans to cover abortion in insurance exchanges the bill would set up to serve individuals who don’t have employer coverage. Plus, enrollees in plans that do cover abortion procedures would pay for the coverage with separate checks – one for abortion, one for rest of health-care services.
Ben Nelson should be voted out of office. The real reason Nelson is supporting this bill is because Obama threatened to close down Offutt Air Force Base. In reality this compromise is just cosmetic. Public money is still going to pay for abortions. This is the opening phase of the Progressives and their long term goal of imposing Eugenics on the population. Euthanasia is the next step in their plan.
The American people oppose this plan, yet the Progressive elites will push it down our throats anyway. This clearly is undemocratic and against the will of the people. Ben Franklin warned about this happening. He said the following when asked what type of government was being set up in America, “A Republic, if you can keep it.” We are losing our Republic to the Tranzi Progressives and their Neo-Feudal beliefs.

The four year delay is an accounting gimmick, not the result of any anticipated legal challenges.
As I mentioned above, they tell the CBO what figures to use when they do their “independent” “non-partisan” analysis of the bill. In this instance, they were instructed to calculate the cost over a 10-year period starting next year.
The main reason it comes out as saving money is that that 10 year period only includes 6 years worth of expenditures, offset by 10 years worth of taxes.
Even assuming they’re right about their cost projections, it’s clearly not going to be “deficit-neutral” in the following years. Starting with year 11, it will begin to spend more than it takes in.

Since no government program in the history of the world has ever cut its services, we already know what will happen next.

And you can thank George Soros and his “Secretary of State Project” for Franken getting that seat.
@ Insert Clever Name Here:
Hey,its the truth. I’m not defeated, not just yet.
Sage advice in these trying times…”Despair is a mortal sin; it saps one’s will to continue fighting…You can only be defeated if you accept defeat; you must actively conspire in your own subjugation.”
See ya later.

I have always had faith in the resiliance of our country and her people. Alas, our government; the Legislative as well as the Executive and Judicial branches have betrayed us.
This health care debacle will pass. As I said above, we are on a runaway train and nothing can stop it. Even if we “vote the bums out”, the republic will have sustained much damage that cannot be undone.
We can look back at 2006 and 2008 as the years we delivered our beloved republic into the hands of the of the oligarchs, the clueless and the malevolent.
@ lobo91:
I’ve a dread feeling the 2010/12 elections will be even uglier.
@ wolfie:
Relax. Take a deep breath. Have a drink. And this too shall pass.
@ vagabond trader:
They probably will, because they’ve gotten more of their people in office in order to screw with things.
I’ll give them credit for one thing, anyway. The plan to take control of the Secretary of State’s offices was brilliant. Nobody even pays any attention to those races, and they control the entire election process.
What is truly astonishing is the quality of people who have initiated the destruction of our liberty. Street thugs, political grifters, hoaxers and dumb ass kids. Wow.
Green Mountain College student has filed a lawsuit over the lack of single-sex bathrooms in the her co-ed residence hall.
Nineteen-year-old Jennifer Weiler filed a civil complaint last week against the Department of Public Safety, which enforces building and plumbing codes she claims were violated.
All seven of the school’s residence halls are co-ed. According to the lawsuit, Weiler and others are uncomfortable with the flimsy curtains on the shower doors and men using the toilets without closing the door.
Weiler’s father, Ron Weiler, told The Burlington Free Press that school officials agreed to label the bathroom on her floor “female” but males continue to use it. A college spokesman declined to comment.

Soros and co. are experts at subverting institutions. If someone told me he was satan incarnate it would not surprise me one bit.
To anyone still hoping these commies are simply naive, please lose that belief!

Well, in a way I’ve been in despair about the West since I was sixteen or so. But, although I have been sorely tempted, I have never given up the will to fight.
The way I look at it is this. Even if I knew with 100% certainty that it’s a lost cause —which I think it is — I still have a choice of what to do. Do I want to go down without a murmur, or do I want to go down kicking and screaming, fighting all the way?

Nikolai was also quite wealthy before becoming a politician iirc. lol, I don’t think Soros is satan, just on the payroll.
I often wonder how different (read better) the country would be if Conservatism had an activist “Mr. Moneybags” like Soros.
or a fair, impartial Mainstream Media…
@ taxfreekiller:
Indeed!
@ wolfie:
Of course you fight it, and never stop fighting it, the future is too important. These are indeed bleak times, but with faith Liberty can endure.
It’s pretty disheartening to see the financial future of America.
Can you imagine if any of us were earning 100,000 a year. Driving 5 cars, living in a million dollar home, going out for 500$ dinners every night, buying designer clothes. And financing all of it on a credit card, and just making the monthly payments
and when we can’t even make the minimums, we open a new credit card and put the other cards minimum payments on that card.
That’s what our government is doing. And it can’t be sustained indefinately

I had a friend who did that.He thinks we’re fools for having a mortgage and paying our bills. Hes now bankrupt and no doubt we’ll be picking up the tab.
I found this comment at Hot Air a useful wrap up of the current state of affairs. I disagree vehemently with the despairing tone though…”Socialism is unstoppable because its success depends simply on the exploitation of the weaknesses of human nature, and the weakness of human nature are for more powerful and ubiquitous than its strengths. Partaking of it, either for a voter, or a politician, is the path of least resistance with the most immediate reward. Not only are voters bribed with goodies, but so are the politicians. This dynamic assures that socialism will be the chosen road that every democracy takes.
Thus, socialism is the prewired default destination for any democracy. Virtually every democracy in the world has gone down this same route and become socialist, including even the United States. This dynamic can not be changed because human nature can not change.” http://hotair.com/archives/2009/12/19/breaking-nelson-will-vote-for-cloture/comment-page-11/#comment-3064651
lawhawk and lostlakehiker are posting facts on the Democrats and their health care bill
they are being attacked by the new and old hands of the Kos Kids lgf’s cult members
look for more to normal posters to leave or being cast out over the cults inability to deal with facts any longer
@ Doppelganger:
Yeah, but it’ll last long enough to crush those of us who don’t even have a credit card.
What do you suppose the chances are that a couple of the hold-outs (like Nelson or Lieberman, etc.) will change their vote on Cloture? You know, kinda’ screw Reed at the last minute on Christmas Eve? For the good of USA?

I lived in a co-ed dorm my freshman year of college, but we had seperate halls and seperate floors and, of course, seperate bathrooms. We even had rules about being in each other’s rooms after certain hours (said rules ignored at times). Personally, I like more privacy than was there, then, but I can’t imagine co-ed restrooms. People simply aren’t thinking.
Fight back.

No, they’re good whores. Once they’ve taken the cash they’ll put out. Besides, the way they’ve got it set up, they don’t get the payola unless they play straight.

It’s too easy to dodge debts these days. I’m one of those people who pays his mortgage. Home values where I live have gone into the toilet.
People who got these crazy ARMS on homes they couldn’t afford, just default. Walk away.
There are even people who default then pay cash for their own house. One local “preacher” in my city did that. Disgraceful. Million dollar house, which he defaulted on. Got evicted. Got his church to buy it for him at auction for about 250,000.

I’ve worked all my life, paid my taxes, and now I look to the future and it’s uncertain because “my” government has not been as prudent as I. These bastards now tell me that “we” must make sacrifices for the good of “all”.
Am I becoming bitter? Hell yes, I am.
@ MacDuff:
Alrigh! Who in the Senate offered to blow Ben Nelson!
This is being done VERY deliberately. Ben Nelson has some of the highest ratings of a Democrat so they chose him on purpose to be the guy to be that #60.
The Republicans better get their act together and promise two things:
#1: Repeal this crap, if passed
#2: Pass real reform in its place
They’ll be unable to override a Presidential veto after 2010, so it is vital to stack the deck against these commies in charge so things can change quickly come 2012.
The republican party better fix its problems with RINOS and moderates (liberals acting like Republicans). I could give a f less about the religious republicans, I just want a fiscal conservative and free market advocate in there with an R next to their name. I am beginning to wonder if any exist outside ultra-nutty Ron Paul .
