A Jazz Guitarist’s support for Maoist Ornaments

Radical Totalitarian Blogger and former Jazz artist, Charles “Icarus” John reveals his true colors yet again. He transformed into a fanatical Obama follower. Any criticism of Barack Hussein Obama sends him into a temper tantrum. He believes that a coalition consisting of The Catholic Church, Tobacco Companies,  Kehanists, Neo-Confederates, Michelle Malkin, James Dobson, The Family and the Vlaams Belang are all out to get him. His paranoia and propaganda knows no bounds, now here’s his latest.

I reported yesterday that the White House had an ornament of Mao Zedong hanging from one it’s Christmas Tree. Other blogs like Hot Air also reported on this disturbing story. The White House spin was that “Community Groups” contributed the ornaments. Still how can no one not notice a Mao ornament? Rising to the occasion to defend his beloved leader, Charles “Icarus” John comes to the regime’s  defense.

Ridiculous Right Wing Nontroversy of the Day

Blogosphere | Wed, Dec 23, 2009 at 12:01:45 pm PST

Andrew Breitbart’s Big Government blog is having a cow about some ornaments on the White House Christmas tree, touching all the right wing hot buttons — commies, gays, and Obama’s “arrogance” — and evoking the desired Pavlovian response: EXCLUSIVE: Transvestites, Mao And Obama Ornaments Decorate White House Christmas Tree.

The facts: the Obamas sent over 800 ornaments left over from previous administrations to local community groups, and asked them to decorate the ornaments to pay tribute to a favorite local landmark.

Wow, Icarus really is reaching here but it gets even better! He justifies the ornament with this excuse!

Well, actually, it’s an Andy Warhol print, but if you really want to run around screaming, don’t let me stop you.

Wow so because Andy Warhol drew a picture of Mao, it’s OK to put his image on an ornament? Does not his murder of Millions of humans make any praise of him wrong? Not in the world of Charles “Icarus” Johnson, he just keeps spinning!

27     Charles  Wed, Dec 23, 2009 12:13:19pm replyquote

Hundreds of community groups donated these ornaments — you can’t tell from that tiny image, but I suggest it’s quite possible the Warhol Mao ornament was donated by a Chinese community group.

Doesn’t Icarus know that Many Chinese Americans left Mao’s China and despise the man? Obviously he’s very ignorant of people who left Progressive regimes. They despise their former homeland’s governments. However the below comment is the ultimate spin for this incident!

92     Charles  Wed, Dec 23, 2009 1:36:33pm replyquote

Maybe it wasn’t thoughtless at all. Maybe it was honoring Nixon’s visit to China.

I don’t know, but I think that’s a lot more likely, given the circumstances, than the silly idea that this is some kind of commie message on the White House Christmas tree.

Charles “Icarus” Johnson has defended Communists before. Mark Loyd and Van Jones were both defended staunchly by this Jazz Guitarist. He defended Anita Dunn who praised Mao Zedong and wanted to silence FOX. It is no coincidence that on his blog, he silences dissent. This is an indication of a Totalitarian belief system. Clearly Charles “Icarus” Johnson is sympathetic to Marxism and Maoism.

If Barack Hussein Obama attempted a dictatorship, Charles “Icarus” Johnson would support him. Progressives are Totalitarians by nature and believe  in control. Even Jazz Musicians can fall for this Ideology. Anyone who defends Maoist imagery is really anti-Human. Icarus’s fall into the sea continues.

When did Mao become a “local landmark” in the United States?

    Huh?

    Huh?

Aside from the idol in Bill Ayers’ back yard, that is.

    I’m waiting….

Good grief. What if a Republican had an ornament of Pat Buchanan, (creep), Francisco Franco (another creep), or Augusto Pinochet on a Christmas tree? You cannot have it both ways.

On a sad note, America’s Most-Decorated Soldier Dies In Waco: WACO (December 23, 2009)—Retired Army Col. Robert L. Howard, 70, who died Wednesday in Waco, was a Medal of Honor winner who at the time of his death was believed to be the most-decorated living American soldier…Texas Gov. Rick Perry issued a statement late Wednesday afternoon in which he said Howard “was the bravest soldier I ever met.” “He was nominated three times for the Medal of Honor, which he was awarded in 1971 for the rescue of a seriously wounded platoon leader who was under enemy fire.” Condolences to the family, and deepest thanks and Godspeed to you Col. Howard.

Speaking of Van Jones, let me predict how this will go down:
    1) Charles comes up with increasingly unlikely excuses as to why an association with evil is completely understandable.
    2) Eventually these excuses are seen at odds with official statements. Charles continues using them for awhile.
    3) Then, after White House apologies admitting it is tasteless and the critics are right, Charles never apologizes or admits to being wrong, eventually dropping the subject except as one more in a list of right wing witch hunts.

    @ Nikis Knight:
“Charles never apologizes or admits to being wrong, eventually dropping the subject except as one more in a list of right wing witch hunts.” Correct, he will just drop it. Does anyone remember the case of Bill Sparkman, the census worker Charlie moonbat and Andrew Sullivan implied was murdered by Glen Beck supporters? After is was a confirmed a suicide, he posted about and was mercilessly mocked. I doubt he makes the same mistake.

Whether the obamanation ok’d the ornaments or not, the point is that the ‘artists’ felt it was perfectly fine to submit a mao ornament, a tranny ornament, and one with the won superimposed on Mt. This Nutjob Justin Raimondo nails Chucky! I don’t like this guy but he nails Chucky for hypocrisy!

Going from the sublime to the grotesque, we present the very first Charles Johnson Award, which goes to that individual in the public eye who has no compunctions about stabbing his former friends and allies in the back and attacking them for the very traits he or she exemplifies. Johnson, who is, as you may know, a blogger with a reputation for giving a forum to vilest sort of anti-Arab racism, and whose blog, “Little Green Footballs,” became a haven for the hateful, has now repudiated his awful past in favor of his equally awful present – which consists of smearing those who fail to toe the Johnsonian line on everything from the role of religion in public life to the reality (or non-reality) of global warming. Having succored racists and Islamophobes of the most extreme sort for years, Johnson has now taken to denouncing these very same racists as the vilest creatures on God’s green earth – without, of course, mentioning his key role in encouraging, organizing, and egging them on. Although he wouldn’t cite God, you see, because, having abandoned the epithet he used to defame Islam as (sarcasm on!) “The Religion of ‘Peace,’” he has now decided that all religion (except one, of course) is the Enemy. Think of him as a cut-rate Christopher Hitchens – an intellectual hooligan without the erudition, or the accent – incapable of writing a blog post longer than a few short and mostly cut-and-pasted paragraphs, albeit with the Hitchensonian nastiness intact.

The Charles Johnson Turncoat Award – this is an “honor” Charles has earned several times over.

And how berserk would CJ be if, say, Sarah Palin had a picture of one of them on her Christmas tree??!! (It’s too absurd to even imagine that happening, but you get my drift!)

A poster here the other day was saying Whatever man claimed he once played with Steely Dan. However, when poster searched for said claim they had come up empty, no sign he ever played with the band. I think I figured out what selrahC really meant; STEELY DAN
A dildo in the William Burroughs novel ‘Naked Lunch’. According to Burroughs, the first Steely Dan was a metal dildo that an evil German bulldyke prostitute crushed using her nether regions, and the second Steely Dan is still in use.

When I was a dope addled leftist in my misguided youth, I used to think Pinochet was the spawn of the devil. However, he saved his country from economic chaos and a communist inspired civil war; which doubtless would have caused more casualties than those caused by his regime, and left Chile in ruins or under the heel of a pro soviet regime. His depredations against his own countrymen were miniscule by comparison with the communist dictators…Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, Ceaucescu, etc. and even by comparison with his next door neighbors, the Argentine Generals, who were the true rightist psychopaths yet who for some reason are not singled out for the same level of condemnation that the left reserves for Pinochet. The real reason the left hates Pinochet is not because he was a brutal dictator, but because he prevented a brutal dictator of their own from coming to power and was successful at derailing the Socialist train in Chile, and allowing a free market, democratic country to emerge. He could have made himself dictator for life…he did not.

    Yes.

The economic chaos engendered by Allende’s Socialist “reforms” was tilting the country toward civil war. The Cubans and Soviets were smuggling in Kalashnikovs and RPG’s to be used by communist cadre.

Middle class Chilean housewives were marching in the streets, banging their pots and pans outside the military HQ to display their anger against Allende’s economic policies which had left the shelves of the stores empty. Chilean truckers, who were mostly independent owner/operators went on strike against the collectivization strategies of Allende and the “Unidad Popular”. The left likes to portray Allende as this benign guy because he was elected, but he was communicating with Castro to coordinate his Socialist policies. If a civil war had broken out, the commies would pushed him further to the left or replaced him with a hardliner.

I don’t condone everything Pinochet or his forces did, but given the alternatives at the time, I have come to believe he was the only alternative for Chile between capitulation to Communism or a destructive civil war.

They are trying to create a clause to prevent repeal, but they have no constitutional power to limit future congresses. That basic tenet goes way back in historical precedent.

How could CJ write a book when his blogulag posts all these years have been a few sentences each (with words like “scream” and “howl” in them to indicate who he’s hating at the time)?

A book is longer than a couple of sentences with “scream” in them.

  180. 181 | December 23, 2009 10:27 pm

    @ Bunk X:

So, the bill passes, we start paying lots of extra taxes to fund healthcare, but don’t get any healthcare benefits for another 3 – 4 years.

2010, congress shifts to republicans (we’ll pretend they’re the republicans with a spine and want to end government-run healthcare) and 2012, we take the white house so we have someone who would sign such a ‘kill government healthcare’ bill.

That’s three years of paying taxes on something that dies before we see the benefits of it.

    so…… where’s the money go?

Decades of Social Security fraud (well, it’d be fraud if it happened in the private sector) have taught us that when the government says that the money is in a lockbox for us, it is an empty lockbox with a big hole in the bottom.

We’ll then be taxed for something we don’t even get…… and won’t get our money back.

I believe a particular war was fought over that.

We’ll then be taxed for something we don’t even get…… and won’t get our money back.

What we would get for it if the Dems stay in power is the loss of freedom and a health care system that is run like the DMV.

The Dems are going to soak us all for taxes anyway, but hopefully, we will end up with a Republican president who can save us from ending up with a health care system that will tell people this: “You have cancer. Your next appointment to evaluate an action plan will be in six months.”

    Said Johnson:

…and evoking the desired Pavlovian response:

I hate to disappoint Johnson, but in the two threads on which I’ve bothered to comment on this ornament-gate at this blog, I have not blown a gasket over it.

I’m not steamed nor “bent out of shape” that a photo of Mao is on an ornament on a White House tree.

(Do I approve of a Mao ornament? No, I’m just not infuriated by it.

So Johnson can stop pretending that every last conservative on planet earth has blown a fuse over a stupid tree decoration.)

I would be interested in seeing the time stamps for Johnson’s posts where he mentions that Mao portrait is an Andy Warhol print, because I mentioned it on this very blog a day or two ago.

Is it possible Johnson saw my post where I mentioned Warhol and decided to use my observation as his own idea?

I am not worked up over there being an ornament with Mao’s photo on it. I’m not sure why, I’m just not.

As the ornament appeared to be a collage containing many images of many different people, places, and things, I can see how such a portrait could go overlooked. It was one element among many in a composition.

I don’t expect the President of the U.S.A., regardless of his political position (Republican, Democrat, Independent, socialist, liberal, moderate, or conservative) to carefully examine every single decoration that goes on a tree in the White House.

If an offensive ornament is discovered by someone and they complain about it, I would expect the White House to look into it, be sensitive about it, and remove said ornament.

As I mentioned elsewhere at this blog, whomever glued the Mao artwork on to the ornament may have chosen the image not due to being a fan of Mao (I bet most younger people today don’t even know who the partially bald guy is), but because they like Warhol, or Warhol’s style.

Absolutely. There’s no way I blame Obama personally for this.
And I realize that far too many people do not know much about Mao.

I nevertheless think that choosing a decorator who was well known for offensive and highly political displays was stupid in the first place. Once that choice was made, the decorations should have been carefully inspected.

It is a sad state of affairs when a picture of Mao, the greatest mass murderer in history, has become cute and stylish.

Sure , everybody send him a pay pal donation so he can publically out your identity.

I knew it wouldn’t be long before people dug up examples of Republicans quoting Chairman Mao too.
The simple fact is that Chairman Mao was a pretty perceptive political thinker. You can deplore what he did in China and still realize that not everything he wrote was the sheer embodiment of evil.
(I know, this is unthinkable to many on the right. But apparently not to Newt Gingrich.)http://littlegreenfootballs.com/showc/34/7800986

Substitute “Hitler” for “Mao” above and you get a glimpse of how deranged he is.

That is PRECISELY the first thought that came to mind. Chaz has an admiration for all things tyrant, but Pam Geller, RS McCain and Michelle Malkin are the REAL threats to humanity.

Cyber balls are quite likely the only balls Chuckles has. No balls, no brains, saggy man-boobs, a tofu-gut and a receding greasy ponytail… What a pathetic excuse for what may have once been a human being.

Carter wouldn’t have even issued the apology if his son wasn’t running for office. When called on it, he demurred, saying that wasn’t the case, that Jews only comprise 2% of the voting population in the district.

Really? Disregarding for a moment that Jimmy “Yassir” Carter would probably prefer the there were 0% jews in the district, if it didn’t matter, why does he know the percentage?

    @ vagabond trader:

I’m very angry that not ONE Republican Senator objected to the customary waiving of the reading of the bill. You cannot tell me that any member of the “most deliberative body in the world” has a CLUE what is in this bill. And I don’t give a crap if it means you don’t go home for Xmas while the bill is being read. You are about to enslave 300 million Americans to higher taxes and unwanted health care, not to mention taking the first step in controlling 6% of the U.S. economy – KNOW what you are voting for.

I hope it dies in reconciliation and if that fails, I hope for a successful Constitutional challenge. Then I hope every one of the tyrants who ignored the will of the American people and that are up for re-election in 2010 find themselves defeated in the primaries.
