We're not easily offended and don't want people to think they have to walk on eggshells around here (like at another place that shall remain nameless) but of course, there is a limit to everything.
Play nice!

If you can’t pull a fit bird in that car, you might be a progressive
Nice, what is it?……hey, I drive an 85 f150…three on the tree no less!
Back before they became Government Motors and were producing cars people wanted to buy.
Of course, even back then, they were kowtowing to the unions, sowing the seeds of their own destruction, and failing to build reliability into their products.
What is that?
I don’t give a shit if that car costs 100 thousand bucks, I gotta have it!
If GM puts that baby out on the production line with all the modern goodies and safety stuff required these days, GM would be out of bankruptcy in 40 days.

Morgan and jelo, that is a 1957 Chevrolet Belair
I see all the gearheads have arrived… lol
Ahhhm my old 57 and 59 chevy with a few other chevy parts.
My grandmother had a Belair….sure as hell didn’t look like that!
@ CynicalConservative:
Great, but I was hoping to find out the name of the car (whether it be Money, Sex, Damn! or some other name).
Maybe iran will keep kerry, you know he served in Vietnam.
57 to 60 parts on a corvette frame
Looks like the Batmobile
@ savage:
Then let me just say, Damn! Now that’s a car!
My boyfriend/fiance has expensive tastes…
Once owned a ’54 Ford Mainliner.
So, what’s its story? What happened to it? It obviously competed against the T-Bird.
I see a 57 Chevrolet Belair nose and hood. A 1959 Chevrolet Impala Trunk and tail light array. Short body frame would lead me to believe that it is on a Corvette chasis. What does the instrument cluster look like? You can’t get much better than the ’59 Impala SS IMHO.
Remember when Detroit sold dreams? I posit that Washington killed Detroit even more than the unions did. GM hasn’t made anything that I’ve wanted to buy since the late 80′s.
That right thar is the car Johnny Cash built in his song.
IMHO
taxfreekiller wrote:
I remember that song. Took ‘em all out in his lunch pail IIRC.
That car is a classic.

Automobiles are art (good ones, anyway), and the anti-automobile green crowd are Philistines. Phuq Chuck and his bike.
@ snork:
Icarus is blaming Bush for the attempted terror attack.
@ Rodan:
Yes, because who is President these days? EPIC FAIL.
@ snork:
I’m pretty sure it’s real.
I saw a car like that about 6 months ago outside the Denny’s in Raton, NM, of all places.
@ Iron Fist:
Yup, who approved the terrorist’s visa?
Icarus is just a propagandist.
Rodan wrote:
You’re kidding me!
Rodan, I need to go to that Apple Store in Culver City and pick up a flash drive.
Can I pick you up anything? hahahaha
Savage, next time you’re up here, you and SG need to go see the LeMay museum, if you haven’t already. It’s south of Tacoma, and has about 700 cars including some really rare ones. Lots of GM.
@ Rodan:
Some GS-7 clerk at the State Department would be my guess.
I’m fairly certain that the president doesn’t personally review visa applications.
Rodan wrote:
Doesn’t he get it? Francis took his bike.
This the same Icarus who 2 days ago claimed that this wasn’t a bomb, and that this man wasn’t al qaeda?
That Icarus?
Documented wrong 99.5% of the time
@ snork:
Isn’t that in Lacey?
@ snork:
Perfect, I can drop the wife off at Southgate…then sneak on down there.
That thang reminds me of those Studebaker Hawks:

Too bad they didn’t make any convertibles. Those were magnificent.
@ Rodan:
And if they hadn’t been released, we’d be racist, Islamophobic and Zionistic for not accepting their statements as members of the Religion of Pieces.

It’s actually closer to Tacoma, in Parkland. Just off highway 7.

And if you do it in August (or a certain week in August), they have a huge open house where the admission is free, and you can see the other LeMay collections that aren’t normally open to the public; something like 3500 cars.

Hmm, yes a new Ipod!

I agree. It’s beautiful. I was rolling down the road today, thinking how all the cars look the same.
The Mercedes Suv looked just like the rest of them. I was very depressed to see what cadillac was doing in the SUV category. It could have been a ‘Probe’ or something stupid.
@ Rodan:
hehe, maybe I can get a part time job there.

Quite a car!
And then we have this:
The Sully theory is sounding more plausible now.
@ savage:
That sounds like a good idea. See if they are hiring.
Here we go. It’s a custom job built on a C6 Corvette chassis, as I thought:
1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 789 by n2a – C6 Corvette Chassis
Combining design elements from different classic Chevrolet models, the 789 shows the world that you really can’t have enough of a good thing. The 789 looks instantly iconic because it is a melding of 1957, 1958 and 1959 Chevys. Who says you can’t have it all, time tested classic design and up-to-date performance and reliability. This vehicle is built on a 2005-2007 Corvette C6 chassis, virtually the same chassis that won its class at the 24 hours of LeMans for the past few years and is known in the car world as the best value in a performance chassis ever produced.
That’s the car I saw in Raton. Not that exact car in the pictures, but one like it.
Great Photo Op tomorrow down in Big Bend National Park in deep south Texas.

A thread on this snow storm would make Al Gore happy with this blog I’m sure.

I’m shocked. Why doesn’t CJ see that Zero has failed to impress and win the Islamic monsters? He has certainly tried valiantly to bow and grovel before them. Rolling out a red carpet for these barbarians. Begging them to unclench. Promising he will stand with them when an ill wind blows. Insisting that part of his job as POTUS is to insure that Islam does not suffer from scurrilous attack. And all kinds of bull shit like that.
Yet they kick sand in Zero’s face because of Pres. Bush?
Fck off CJ and go get some help.
@ chickadee:
Yup, “three on the tree”…few years ago down in Dawg Country, I had a blond georgia peach sitting beside me on the bench…she couldn’t figure out what the hell I was doing while driving down the country roads…thought I was putting it in neutral every once in a while. She was country to! We laughed for hours once I told her…
Don’t you mean Icarus is blaming Bush for the Man Caused Disaster?
Reading through the comments over at the swamp, it’s clear that most of those geniuses have no idea why the people who are at Gitmo are even there.
There’s nobody in there for “trying to blow up a Humvee in Iraq,” or for “buying a fallafel at the wrong stand.”
Only a tiny percentage of the tens of thousands of people we’ve captured over the past 8 years end up in Gitmo.
What a bunch of clueless morons…
chickadee wrote:

What will be interesting is that if these terrorist scum at Gitmo get their criminal trial in the USA, and for some reason get off on a technicality, what happens then?
The USA isn’t going to let these guys go free.
Obama has already said they will be found guilty and they will be executed.
He can’t have it both ways. Either they are innocent till proven guilty or they are already guilty and we shoot the bastards.
I vote for the latter
I don’t wish to post a comment from 1.0 that has been mentioned before but I just read this at LGF on the Napolitano defense thread. I thought it was too funny to not paste here.
I don’t really care what is said over at the swamp but I thought it humorous that this got a lot of downdings but not very many condemnations in writing.
And Charles responded and did not delete the comment.
