This is a hilarious if not semi-righteous rant from a libprog blogger. He’s seriously tinkled off at our blunder-in-chief:
But the little prick is making it very hard.
Like any good progressive, I’ve gone from admiration to hope to disappointment to anger when it comes to this president. Now I’m fast getting to rage.
How much rage? I find myself thinking that the thing I want most from the 2010 elections is for his party to get absolutely clobbered, even if that means a repeat of 1994. And that what I most want from 2012 is for him to be utterly humiliated, even if that means President Palin at the helm. That much rage.
Verrrrry angry, indeed.
Are you freakin’ kidding me??? What’s up with the passive president routine, anyhow, Fool? You hold the most powerful position in the world. Or maybe Rahm forgot to mention that to you. Or maybe the fat cat bankers don’t actually let do that whole decision-making thing often enough that it would actually matter…
But, really, are you going to spend the next three interminable years perfecting your whiney victim persona? I don’t really think I could bear that. Hearing you complain about how rough it all is, when you have vastly more power than any of us to fix it? Please. Not that.
Are you angry enough?
Here’s a guy who was supposed to actually do something with his presidency, and he’s turned into the skinny little geek on Cell Block D who gets passed around like a rag doll for the pleasure of all the fellas with the tattoos there. He’s being punked by John Boehner, for chrisakes. He’s being rolled by the likes of Joe Lieberman. He calls a come-to-Jesus meeting with Wall Street bank CEOs, and half of them literally phone it in. Everyone from Bibi Netanyahu to the Japanese prime minister to sundry Iranian mullahs is stomping all over Mr. Happy.
Well, umm… you could have gotten behind Hillary. Fool. Snigger.
It goes on and on and on. Read the whole thing.

another commie in a cupcake field in academia
That’s gonna leave a mark!
Yeah, I read that the other day (yesterday?, I can’t keep track). Pretty funny. I hope the sentiment keeps spreading.
They believe POTUS is full throttle raw power. Not the main representative and cheer leader for the American people.
Buyers remorse?
Progressives are an angry lot. They also turn on each other. Look at how Hugo is turning against Barry.
@ Rodan:
Would it be fair to compare progressive factions to sunni and shia? Neither one is progressive enough.
No that was a diatribe that warmed the cockles of my heart, not only did I totally agree with him (even if for 100 percent opposite reasons) but the fact that he is sooo upset at his Messiah was just glorious.

The quote in the OP is moronic, but on the other hand I am not going to be politically correct and allege that there isn’t something fundamentally rotten within Islam.
Islam is in the middle of a hideous time. I think of it as being roughly analagous to what Christianity went through in the sixteenth through early eighteenth centuries. I really hope it ends well. And soon.
In the middle of what!!!!!!!!!???????
TS,MF. You and your kind creamed your pants over the Nonthreatening Handsome Negro when he first oozed out of the Chicago machine into national politics. You didn’t show even the slightest interest in his background or his record, or wonder why the guy escaped any sort of real scrutiny, much less serious criticism, by the Evil Corporate Capitalist Media. You projected all your deepest hopes, and invested all your strongest emotions, onto a jumped-up South Side wardheeler, setting him up for a secular-Messiah role that I don’t think even he wanted.
And now you’re angry that he turned out to be just another sleazeball politico who’s spent the last eleven months selling out his imagined constituency, and the country itself?
Please, do yourself a favor. Resign from your post as a “Political Science” academic. You obviously don’t have the slightest idea of how real politicians practice real politics.
@ NoThreat2U:
Yes that would be a great example.
Keep in mind how Hitler turned on Stalin.
@ doriangrey:
He was right about one thing. The fact that the Dems can’t pass their healthcare bill, which they’ve wanted for decades, when they have 60/40 margins in both houses of Congres and the presidency is just pathetic.
The fact that they keep going on TV and blaming Republicans for their inability to pass it is even worse,
@ Rodan:
I say keep letting them eat their own. In the meantime, the grown ups should be running things.
@ NoThreat2U:
WTF?
@ NoThreat2U:
Left you a message about your history quest on the last thread, bottom.
@ lobo91:
Can you believe that comment????
@ vagabond trader:
I am on my way to look at it now. Thank you
Cranky little screed, eh?
I did love the way he said “the world is literally on fire.”
Goddess, are you here? If so, would you please rap the guy on knuckles hard for misusing the word “literally?” I mean, I suppose he means that global warming is greatly increasing and a dire problem, not that the world is literally on fire.
OT.
What passes for a good Constitution based argument over there:
lobo91 wrote:
And the fact that a significant portion of the electorate will believe them is worst of all. That’s what got us here.
Thing is these toenail biters are angry because The Obama isn’t radical enough
@ NoThreat2U:
That’s why Chunky has not been embraced by the Left yet. They view him as a loose cannon. I never thought I would say that Hufington Post and Daily Kos are more to the Center than LGF.
Ooops. I had decided not to post that. Can we PLEEEEASE get a preview function of some sort? Pretty please…
@ NoThreat2U:
VT? My Grandfather’s sister-in-law was in charge of our local geneaolgy society. She is now dead and they don’t know where her work went. After attending the funeral of a very old aunt tonite, I was clued in that my family is of german “descent”. They got pissed if you called them germsn though. Now I find out she was looking for Transylvanian Saxons. Not sure what I should be looking for though. I cannot access her work and Google blows. I was just looking to see if someone knew something that I may have missed. Thank you much
@ wolfie:
You noticed that one too, huh?
Seems awfully cold to me, but what do I know? I’m not a political science professor.
@ Rodan:
At least HuffPo and DK picked a side and stuck to it. The One…not so much. He is trying to be all things to all people…who are on the left. There are many left factions though. Hence, the Sunni Left and the Shia Left….neither is left enough for the other.
@ lobo91:
So the world is literally on fire? Someone please tell it to the snow that is on my truck!!! lol

That is a nice way of putting it. As I see it they have no option but to do what Jefferson once did to the bible and form a new religion that allows them to pray 5 times a day, to a different god.
That’s not at all how I see it. I do not feel the religion has an inherent directive toward violence, any more than Catholicism as practiced in seventeenth-century Spain did.
And God is God, no matter what horrible things we can think of to do in Her name. But this is not the TSA’s problem right now, except very, very indirectly.
@ NoThreat2U:
It’s just bigotry over there.
@ NoThreat2U:
The thread that you got that quote from degenerated from “make fun of a GOP politician” into a two front pissing match:
1. Is gay marriage a “right”? Where do rights come from?
2. Which religion has led to more suffering/death through history. Islam or Christianity (particularly Catholicism)? Detailed discussion of the Inquisitions ongoing…
Lotsa fun over there

@ Opilio:
They are all nuts. lol
@ wolfie:
Sadly, I agree with you.
@ Rodan:
The poster Ludwig van Q is seriously out of control. He is a horrible hater.
@ snowcrash:
Ludwig is a Catholic Hater. he also hates Hispanics and even hates White Christians.
Ludwig should leave America.
@ NoThreat2U:
Yup, Charles praised Mao and they even agreed with it.
BTW, good Chunky thread coming up. Chen Zhen nails him!
@ Rodan:
I would have to eat a bullet if I found myself ever going along with the “crowd”. Ugg. Do people no longer stand on their personal convictions anymore????????? Ya’ know, Wrath said here one time that he gives the moes credit for at least “walking the walk” and he got slammed for it. I agree with him though. No matter how much vile ridiculous garbage the motard spout, they back it up. WE need to start talking the talk and walking the walk.
@ NoThreat2U:
Try this website if you are looking for ancestors. It takes a little family info and some patient hunting but its amazing what you can turn up if you’re determined. I helped a friend trace her family back to the Middle Ages.
A pity about the records, older relatives and friends are excellent sources. All my family is either gone or estranged so it is near impossible to find anything, plus being Jewish.

@ NoThreat2U:
It’s a cult.
@ snowcrash:
You mean like this gem?:
@ vagabond trader:
Oh yes, that site is awesome. I forgot I had it saved to favorites already. Now that I have more information, it will be of even more help. Thanks for the reminder!!
Hey, Wolfie is a Historian with a specialty in European Medieval, give her a shout out!
@ NoThreat2U:
RAAAAAAAAACIST!
@ lobo91:
Yes, just so. LOL. He is an idiot.
@ lobo91:
Ludwig is a coward. The only reason he gets nasty is because Charles has his back.
@ Rodan:
I could never be that weak of mind, And if I ever am, you have my permission to shoot me in the frakking head!
@ lobo91:
I love the “gems” you referred to. hahahaha I am the biggest nerd in my family. lol I took zoology in high school. I can read a book in two frakkin days and absorb what it had to say. I also took Chemistry in high school. My sister has married a black man….twice. I have friends and family that are gay. Puhleeeeeeze!!!
@ vagabond trader:
Now I have to scroll through to see if wolfie has chimed in. I will make a note of that though. I really really wanna know more about this!
Signing off ya’ll. Thanks for the great conversation. Be safe and I will see you all tomorrow!!!
Looks like the consensus of opinion among the security experts on that thread is that since there’s no way to predict with 100% certainty who might be a terrorist, there’s no point in adopting any methods that might catch 90% of them.

If a liberal were in charge of profiling and two passengers were waiting in line, a middle aged white woman named Sue, and an angry arab looking young male with sweat pouring down their cheeks, the liberal would no doubt choose to screen Sue.

@ lobo91:
How can anyone be that ignorant and still remember to breathe!? “roll”
@ NoThreat2U:
No, I think the people that bought BHO are quite pleased. It’s the rest the party that’s pissed at him.
@ Mad Mullah:
That’s precisely the situation we have now, where TSA employees are directed to “randomly” select some percentage of passengers for additional screening.
Since they get to pick anyone they wish, they will almost invariably NOT pick the “angry arab looking young male with sweat pouring down their cheeks,” because that person is likely to be confrontational.

While it is amusing that the leftists are now also angry at The One, reading this fellow’s screed is also infuriating. The selective marshaling of “facts” for the purpose of documenting “the horror of the past 8 years” is astounding. It’s like they didn’t live in the same country I did for the past 8 years.
I certainly disagreed with a number of Bush and Republican congress decisions and policies. But those were the policies that should have won praise from dunderheads like this. i.e., they were statist, populist, and entitlement increasing policies that real conservatives have always opposed and libs and statists have always embraced except when they were Bush’s policies.
@ Da_Beerfreak:
Of course, when (not if) the next really horrific attack comes, these same geniuses are going to be up in arms, demanding the resignations of those who failed to protect us, even though they themselves insisted that no effective measures be taken.

A good Charles thread will be up! This one is funny as hell!
They do seem to love their gay marriage over at 1.0, don’t they?
Now that the proggies are freaking out over The One, I’ll bet it’s tough on ole Chuckster as to how to react.
If he starts picking on The One, he may worry that he’ll sound right wing (since he spent so many years pretending to be on the right).
If he says that The One is still really cool, then he won’t be seen as a real proggie either.
Moderates also don’t like Obambi, so if ole Chuckster says he likes his idol, he will be in No Man’s Land.
…which is where he is already, actually.
Changing one’s political stand based on putting one’s moist finger in the air to see which way the wind is blowing isn’t going to end up working out well for the Chuckster.
