The Proggies are restless

This is a hilarious if not semi-righteous rant from a libprog blogger. He’s seriously tinkled off at our blunder-in-chief:

But the little prick is making it very hard.

Like any good progressive, I’ve gone from admiration to hope to disappointment to anger when it comes to this president. Now I’m fast getting to rage.

How much rage? I find myself thinking that the thing I want most from the 2010 elections is for his party to get absolutely clobbered, even if that means a repeat of 1994. And that what I most want from 2012 is for him to be utterly humiliated, even if that means President Palin at the helm. That much rage.

Verrrrry angry, indeed.

Are you freakin’ kidding me??? What’s up with the passive president routine, anyhow, Fool? You hold the most powerful position in the world. Or maybe Rahm forgot to mention that to you. Or maybe the fat cat bankers don’t actually let do that whole decision-making thing often enough that it would actually matter…

But, really, are you going to spend the next three interminable years perfecting your whiney victim persona? I don’t really think I could bear that. Hearing you complain about how rough it all is, when you have vastly more power than any of us to fix it? Please. Not that.

Are you angry enough?

Here’s a guy who was supposed to actually do something with his presidency, and he’s turned into the skinny little geek on Cell Block D who gets passed around like a rag doll for the pleasure of all the fellas with the tattoos there. He’s being punked by John Boehner, for chrisakes. He’s being rolled by the likes of Joe Lieberman. He calls a come-to-Jesus meeting with Wall Street bank CEOs, and half of them literally phone it in. Everyone from Bibi Netanyahu to the Japanese prime minister to sundry Iranian mullahs is stomping all over Mr. Happy.

Well, umm… you could have gotten behind Hillary. Fool. Snigger.

It goes on and on and on. Read the whole thing.

The quote in the OP is moronic, but on the other hand I am not going to be politically correct and allege that there isn’t something fundamentally rotten within Islam.

Islam is in the middle of a hideous time. I think of it as being roughly analagous to what Christianity went through in the sixteenth through early eighteenth centuries. I really hope it ends well. And soon.

    In the middle of what!!!!!!!!!???????

TS,MF. You and your kind creamed your pants over the Nonthreatening Handsome Negro when he first oozed out of the Chicago machine into national politics. You didn’t show even the slightest interest in his background or his record, or wonder why the guy escaped any sort of real scrutiny, much less serious criticism, by the Evil Corporate Capitalist Media. You projected all your deepest hopes, and invested all your strongest emotions, onto a jumped-up South Side wardheeler, setting him up for a secular-Messiah role that I don’t think even he wanted.

And now you’re angry that he turned out to be just another sleazeball politico who’s spent the last eleven months selling out his imagined constituency, and the country itself?

Please, do yourself a favor. Resign from your post as a “Political Science” academic. You obviously don’t have the slightest idea of how real politicians practice real politics.

He was right about one thing. The fact that the Dems can’t pass their healthcare bill, which they’ve wanted for decades, when they have 60/40 margins in both houses of Congres and the presidency is just pathetic.

The fact that they keep going on TV and blaming Republicans for their inability to pass it is even worse,

That is a nice way of putting it. As I see it they have no option but to do what Jefferson once did to the bible and form a new religion that allows them to pray 5 times a day, to a different god.

That’s not at all how I see it. I do not feel the religion has an inherent directive toward violence, any more than Catholicism as practiced in seventeenth-century Spain did.

And God is God, no matter what horrible things we can think of to do in Her name. But this is not the TSA’s problem right now, except very, very indirectly.

But if it makes you feel any better, I do clearly see the modern GOP as Anathema to most of the things I love about America. They are anti-intellectual, anti-personal freedom, anti-science, anti- reason and anti constitution.

Other than that they are mostly stupid, uneducated and arrogant to boot.

They are also massively fiscally irresponsible.

They have contempt for the average American’s intelligence, by assuming we have no memory.

That’s precisely the situation we have now, where TSA employees are directed to “randomly” select some percentage of passengers for additional screening.

Since they get to pick anyone they wish, they will almost invariably NOT pick the “angry arab looking young male with sweat pouring down their cheeks,” because that person is likely to be confrontational.

The selective marshaling of “facts” for the purpose of documenting “the horror of the past 8 years” is astounding. It’s like they didn’t live in the same country I did for the past 8 years.

I certainly disagreed with a number of Bush and Republican congress decisions and policies. But those were the policies that should have won praise from dunderheads like this. i.e., they were statist, populist, and entitlement increasing policies that real conservatives have always opposed and libs and statists have always embraced except when they were Bush’s policies.

Now that the proggies are freaking out over The One, I’ll bet it’s tough on ole Chuckster as to how to react.

If he starts picking on The One, he may worry that he’ll sound right wing (since he spent so many years pretending to be on the right).

If he says that The One is still really cool, then he won’t be seen as a real proggie either.

Moderates also don’t like Obambi, so if ole Chuckster says he likes his idol, he will be in No Man’s Land.

…which is where he is already, actually.

Changing one’s political stand based on putting one’s moist finger in the air to see which way the wind is blowing isn’t going to end up working out well for the Chuckster. :-)

A common belief among those who don’t believe in any god is that they are all the same. Even if the atheist is right that there is no god, he is very, very wrong that the conception of him that various religions offer could possibly reflect the same divine being.

In other words, Allah has little in common with Yahweh.
