I agree generally with calling it the Icarus Award, although I wonder if we should have two separate categories.

The Icarus Award would be for paranoid faux-rationalist asshattery.
Then another award would be for exemplary leftwing idiocy; we could call it something like “The Nobel Peace Prize”.

Wasn’t there a Republican candidate for POTUS who was ruined because of using the word “macacha” (sp) in a speech? I have never heard the word before and have no idea of it’s meaning, however the donks pounced on him and destroyed his candidacy.
Yet Harry Reid will get a free pass for his blunder.
The double standard at work here is breathtaking.

@ Mrs.Robinson: I get what youre saying but he's just not important .Its fun to point out his hypocrisy,false facts,conspiracy mongering ,and hysterical shrieking over nothing(while ignoring the big picture)but hes powerless. While ,say,Obama is a denger to the entire country(and therefore the world),Charles is just flicking his "little green footballs"at a poster of Sarah Palin. Now if we have a special "Pod Person" award(think"Invasion of the Body Snathers",he gets all my votes!

I am proud to have voted. Although, I wish that William F. Buckley, the first openly conservative media member had been nominated in some manner. Perhaps an award for excellence in Journalism could be awarded from this prestigious site in his honor. Just my personal opinion.
