Progressive Leadership to press on Obamacare

by Rodan ( 163 Comments › )
Filed under Barack Obama, Democratic Party, Economy, Elections 2010, Healthcare, Liberal Fascism, Progressives at January 21st, 2010 - 5:00 am

This is a blatant example of the elitist view of the Tranzi Progressive Movement, which currently controls the government. The totalitarian trio of  Neo-Fascist Nancy Pelosi, Neo-Maoist Barack Hussein Obama and Buffoon Harry Reid are showing a disdain for the public. They could care less about what the loss in Massachusetts portends for their party. In their minds the American Public don’t know what is good for them.

Republican Scott Brown’s upset win in Massachusetts Tuesday threatened to derail any hopes of passing a health reform bill this year, as the White House and Democratic leaders faced growing resistance from rank-and-file members to pressing ahead with a bill following the Bay State backlash.

White House senior adviser David Axelrod told POLITICO: “I think that it would a terrible mistake to walk away now. If we don’t pass the bill, all we have is the stigma of a caricature that was put on it. That would be the worst result for everybody who has supported this bill.” He said the administration will work with Capitol Hill to figure out how.

Obama’s former campaign manger, David Plouffe, added on ABC’s “Good Morning America”: “I’m very confident we can pass health-care reform.”

The Progressive leadership doesn’t care about public opinion, it’s about enforcing their Totalitarian vision of America. The lower members of the Democratic Party are worried about the wrath of the voters. They know that if this agenda gets passed through without public support, they are goners.

Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.), one of the leading advocates for health reform in the House, urged fellow Democrats to heed the message of Massachusetts and pivot toward creating jobs, perhaps with a health-care component added in.

“If there isn’t any recognition that we got the message and we are trying to recalibrate and do things differently, we are not only going to risk looking ignorant but arrogant,” he said.

Anthony Weiner clearly gets what is going on here.  Americans don’t want this bill. The Progressive controlled Democrat Party will pass this at their own peril. Massachusetts was an opening shot in the American revolution of 2010 and the Progressives will go the way of the King George’s Redcoats.

No offense to any of our British Netizens!

In the end they will pass some watered down POS legislation that does very little. Rewards illegal aliens, and unions, and trial lawyers.
Wimp RINOS will be on board.

all so they can say “they reformed healthcare” and Hussein can have some photo op signing it.

Good, I hope these twats keep pushing their progressive ideology. It needs to remain out there front and center so every American gets a damn good look at it and learns to identify it for what it is. It even warms my heart to see Obama & Co. freely using the word to describe themselves and their policies. Everybody needs to keep getting the word out as to what Progresssivism is and all its champions throughout history. Let people decide if they want to be associated with the worst monsters ever to walk this planet or those who gave us the greatest freedom the world has ever known.

Zero was on TV last night saying that congress should not try to push on with the cramdown until Brown is seated (I hope that he means what he says for once). However, several congressmen were also on TV vowing to press on, essentially saying that the bill is unpopular because us knuckle dragging rubes don’t understand it and that they just need to explain it better.

Am expecting to see congress try to ram this POS bill through in the next week regardless of what Zero said. The egos of Nancy and Harry are just too big to allow them to stop now, even though Zero has given them cover with his statements.

If they do, the resultant 2010 elections will make 1994 look like child’s play for the amount of pickups the conservatives would gain. Given to structure of the current healthcare bill, it could be held up in the courts until it was revoked by a new Congress or outright overturned by the SCOTUS.

Sadly, my Senators are Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Al Franken (D-NY)
They are party hacks who can be relied upon to faithfully rubber-stamp anything which the Democrats float through the senate. Will e-mail each of them though in an act of futility.

good morning compatriots from Beantown. I took a few vacation days so I’ve not been posting, but my husband and I managed to vote early on messy snowy Tuesday. As we were walking out I noticed another ballot, clearly marked for Mr. Brown, so that was at least 3 Scott Brown votes I knew about–leaving feeling very good about my civic responsibility and the outraged “voice of the people”.

I expect Mr. Brown to be crucial in cleaning up the swamps of corruption in and around the Massachusetts judicial system, as well as legislature – let alone the Obama healthcare scam…checks and balances, something this state has not seen for a while, at least since Romney.

    Interesting:

BIG JOURNALISM: Rethinking Bush: Why Didn’t The President Fight Back Against the MSM?

UPDATE: Related: America Betrayed President Bush. Plus this: “One year after taking office however, Obama has done a total reversal on his isolationist, non-interventionist foreign policy, and is now pushing President Bush’s neo-conservative philosophy as a justification for starting a new war in Afghanistan. What the Democratic Party once criticized as an over-simplified good vs. evil argument has become the cornerstone of Obama’s reasoning. . . . As Obama continues to make decisions that mirror the Bush doctrine, it is becoming apparent that the former president was not ignorant or irrational in his foreign policy decisions despite the harsh criticism and disloyalty he endured. He was in fact, ahead of his time, a visionary who understood politics and warfare in the modern age of terrorism. That is why Obama is now following his lead.”

The disloyalty of the Democrats was not merely to the President. Many of them betrayed this country. When Dick Durbin (D-al Qaeda) went on the floor of the Senate and read al Qaeda propaganda into the Congressional Record and no Democrats called him on it, they stepped into a realm that has never been explored in American politics. When they started rooting for our enemies hoping a military loss could translate into a political victory for them, we no longer had to question their patriotism: we knew they had none. Now obama is trying to fail in Afghanistan. He won’t be able to duck his responsibility and blame it on Bush. Not if we don’t let him.

More bad economic news today as unemployment “Unexpectedly” rises. Why is it month after month when unemployment rises it’s “Unexpected’? That is beyond me. Small business is laying off workers in order to stay alive. I Know, because I was recently forced to do it. We simply cannot afford to pay the payroll taxes for our employees when revenues are down 30%. Small business and the individual in America are subsidising out of control Govmint spending and it has to stop!

Now the Congress is going to be forced to vote again to raise the country’s debt ceiling by another 1.9 trillion or so next week.

This Maddness must stop! The government must be forced to live within it’s means like the rest of us.
The time for a freeze on all federal spending is now. No more new programs! No more government hiring new beaurocrats. No more borrowing. The government should be imposing early retirment on it’s employees and an immediate freeze must be put on spending.

The only other alternative is to inflate the dollar and make it worthless or default on the debt.

    Rant Off

Nice little editorial on gun control in the washTimes:

This correlation between the D.C. gun ban and diminished safety was not a coincidence. Look at the Windy City. Immediately after Chicago banned handguns in 1982, the murder rate, which had been falling almost continually for a decade, started to rise. Chicago’s murder rate rose relative to other large cities as well. The phenomenon of higher murder rates after gun bans are passed is not just limited to the United States. Every single time a country has passed a gun ban, its murder rate soared.

The choice Americans face isn’t between freedom or safety. Washington’s experience with gun bans shows once again that Americans will either be free and safe or unfree and unsafe. Letting people protect themselves is the responsible approach. It’s important the Supreme Court remember these facts in March when it hears the case over Chicago’s handgun ban.

I am so hoping for a favorable decision out of the Court on this case. At some point, I hope we can look back at Heller as the Roe v. wade of gun rights. this will mean continuing to dramatically expand individual liberty on the issue. Finally, after more than 100 years of neglect we are seeing improvement. The Republicans should be leading the way, but they won’t.

I had an order in there last year for an out of stock item. They eventually removed the Sku from their shelves before my order was ever filled. it was a very scarce Black Hills loading.

Do you go ever go down to Wheeling? Very hit or miss, but you can call ahead and they will check stock and hold with a card payment.

Save on shipping if the gas and time are worth it. I usually combine it with a beer and grocery run to WV (six packs of varity instead of a case at a time) to dilute the gas expense.

What does history tell us about such instances? The German General Staff in 1918 crunched the numbers and knew that it was a matter of weeks before the Allies would be able to enter and conquer Germany–so they sought an armistice before that could happen. Their counterparts thirty-seven years later, however, knew the end was nigh in 1942 and for certain by June 1944-yet they let the entire country go down in flames. The same is true for the Confederacy; they knew after the US Presidential elections of 1864 that there was no hope for a negotiated peace, yet they fought for six more months and cause needless deaths and destruction.

The Dem leadership, me thinks, is of the latter mindsets–not the former. Maybe someone should have the local opera companies in the DC area stage some showings of Götterdämmerung to give them a hint. Of course, such subtlety would be lost on BHO (opera is a white bourgeoisie affair, afterall) and Biden (he can’t read subtitles).

    This is interesting:

Justices Block Key Part of Campaign Law

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Supreme Court has ruled that corporations may spend freely to support or oppose candidates for president and Congress, easing decades-old limits on their participation in federal campaigns.

By a 5-4 vote, the court on Thursday overturned a 20-year-old ruling that said corporations can be prohibited from using money from their general treasuries to pay for their own campaign ads. The decision, which almost certainly will also allow labor unions to participate more freely in campaigns, threatens similar limits imposed by 24 states.

It leaves in place a prohibition on direct contributions to candidates from corporations and unions.

Critics of the stricter limits have argued that they amount to an unconstitutional restraint of free speech, and the court majority apparently agreed.

“The censorship we now confront is vast in its reach,” Justice Anthony Kennedy said in his majority opinion, joined by his four more conservative colleagues.

Note that the Leftist Justices are for restricting free speech in the Political arena. This is a good decision. McCain-Feingold was unconstitutional. Bush failed us when he signed it. Now it looks like the Supreme Court is going to reverse that abomination. Good.

Also – more amusing news! Barry is going out to Nevada next month to help Harry Reid get elected, just like he helped Martha Coakley. And Harry is perhaps the only politician who’s shot himself in the foot oftener than Coakley. If the GOP’s candidate is even half way decent, and puts up a competent fight, Harry may be half way to being unhorsed.

A lot of people bought hybrids and then found out that they COULDN’T access the HOV lanes. And ha ha on them – I believe those stickers expire either this year or next and will not be renewed. But I was always curious why would we want the supposed LESS polluting car to get a break – isn’t that the one we’d PREFER be sitting in traffic since it’s causing less emission when it does so?

Here in NorCal, the HOV lane from the East Bay to SF is 3 persons per car and it’s probably the best and most effective one in the state. There are limited commute choices once you cross into Solano County and BART is not an quickly accessible option.

Are you saying there are Lizards in revolt against Charles’s politcal directives? Lizards actually coming out and disagreeing with the Blog proprietor? Er, are they still around, or have they been summarily kicked off 1.0 already? Tell all!

This is different. It violates teh equal protection cluase. Some states and people are favored over others. This will get throw out or defunded. The People don’t want it.

CJ is putting his mad cut and paste skilz to work at TrueSlant.com and every one of his “contributions” gets slammed for its idiocy. He really believes himself to be a citizen journalist – when in reality he’s the annoying kid in 7th Grade stuttering through his weekly current events report.

That’s with an A, and they seem to do the job for me!

If I were coming to Pittsburgh this weekend, I’d consider checking this out.

I’m going to the ‘Electric Factory’ in Philly for the first time next mo. I hear it’s a pretty historic venue.

Yes, the donks seem to think that Coakley lost because they were NOT able to pass health care reform. Those people delusional! They are so far detached from the average citizen that they have no clue what we really think. It is absolutely unbelievable how stubborn and obtuse the Democrats have become!

Yeah, I’d be very interested to hear what happens. It could be that I totally have my understanding of the law wrong – I’ll have to go back and re-read.

However, I can’t believe this hasn’t been challenged in the courts yet. Have you heard anything about a challenge?

Never been to the Electric Factory, usually I go to Philly for Phillies games or the airport.

I’m more of a Country Music guy, was thinking of seeing Trace Adkins and Martina McBride at the Sovereign Center in Reading 1/29, but wifey is getting her Thyroid removed.

Does this mean she can’t talk for awhile??

One of my local stores is already doing ID check on large caliber ammo. I bought a brick of .22 ammo (which is getting scarce now-go figure) without a problem, but was told that anything larger would have meant me being interrogated.

Next time, wear a robe and one of those checkered middle eastern headdresses — they’ll give you the ammo with no questions asked.

He did one a couple days ago equating AGW deniers with Holocaust deniers and he had educated himself and the science was settled. There were 18 comments, all but two of which told him he was an annoying idiot who didn’t know shit about science and asking if he would be banning people from the TrueSlant site as well.

I’ll have to look at that.

I could agree with him except for the 6 million dead bodies kinda make the Holocaust seem a little more tied to man caused vs. a bunch of pinheads predicting the end of the world when we’re experiencing the coldest winter in decades…but, what the hell do I know.

Man, he’s got a new hate object, hasn’t he? Did he finally get bored stiff fulminating against creationists? Apparently, he’s on a crusade against the tea partiers, I take it. No comments, at least when I clicked on your link. Looks like readers are as energized about this as they were about those endless rants against creationism.

  153. 153 | January 21, 2010 8:29 am

    @ S the Elder:

    Wait!

Holocaust deniers deny a historic event which not only already happened, but is exceptionally well documented.

Global Warming (which will “destroy the world”) is nothing more than a theory about what might happen sometime in the future!

They are not even close to the same.

He has German DAG (Dynamite Nobel) Nickle Clad 7.62 steel core mil-surp at .50 a round and less in quanity before shipping.

This particular cartridge’s bullet yaws on impact and sheds its jacket like a 55 gr. 5.56 M193 round does, only with expotential terminal effescts. Good reliable stuff and great for social purposes.

He is in Western PA fro shipping considerations
