Sorry for the late start on voting. Since the nominations were spread out over a bunch of different threads, it took me longer than I thought finding time to sort through them.
The polls will stay up until next Friday, Feb 5th. One vote per day, per person please.

It must be maddening being the leaker. You see all the headlines, you see the books being sold, you see all the people being interviewed on TV, and you know you caused it all, but you can’t say anything. It’s like being Bruce Wayne or Clark Kent. You want to run out and tell the world, and you can’t.

Admit it. You hacked CRU. You sit there in your cell phone shop in Oklahoma pretending you’re working on cell phones, but really you’re on Inhofe’s payroll, hacking the CRU data base for Exxon. Admit it! Confession is good for the soul!
It is true…. Bruce Wayne puts on the mask of Batman, but Superman, when he needs to hide who he is…. becomes the bumbling Clark Kent.
Just as Batman is Bruce Wayne’s personification of fear to be struck into the underworld, Clark Kent is the personification of how Superman views humanity.
The odd bit about Superman, though, is that he has no courage. He fights criminals armed with guns that can’t hurt him, gas that can’t kill him and lasers that can’t cut him. He has nothing to fear and, as such, never faces fear.
Courage is facing fear and engaging in the fearful activity anyway.

Oh, nil stooge was just helping out, providing the lyrics to “Wolf Moon,” the song I posted above.
I said I didn’t understand a word.

Courage is facing fear and engaging in the fearful activity anyway.
That is one of the most important lessons a parent needs to teach a child. Especially boys, because they are more apt to confuse fearlessness with courage.
I think it’s a part of nature that males need to appear confident and cool when facing trouble, so as not to give the enemy any clue or advantage. So heroes present themselves to us as fearless, when what they really are doing is controlling and overcoming fear.
Like it or not — and I for one don’t — we live in a sound bite, catch-phrase world. Sarah Palin’s use of the term “death panel” in her Facebook column hit a nerve about the prospects of letting bureaucrats in Washington control health care decisions.
IIRC, posters who nominated Palin credited her with giving a jump start to the rebellion against Obamacare.
I just cast my votes for Ben Nelson (the Icarus) and Glenn Beck (the Fallaci). Nelson’s betrayal of Nebraskans and all Americans frankly warrants the award he’s nominated for. And Glenn Beck’s tireless work in telling us about the progressives in America and the threat they pose more than warrants the award he’s nominated for.
Yes. We should have had a special award this year for the best ridicule of He Who Fights with Girls. Chen would definitely be a nominee. RS McCain. Bite Me Comics. All the videos ….especially the calendar commercial. And the one with the monkeys in the boat. Oh. Too many nominees. Too hard to pick just one.

Maybe some better minds than mine can explain what is really happening here:
WASHINGTON — Former President George H.W. Bush and his son Jeb paid a social call on President Barack Obama at the White House Saturday.
The former president, 85, walked gingerly into the White House, using a cane, as heavy snow fell. He departed 35 minutes later, telling reporters it was a “good meeting, good meeting.”
His son Jeb, a former governor of Florida, was with him.
White House aides said the visit was simply a social call because the former president was in Washington for a dinner.
The CRU leaker, hands down. The individual who in a single stroke just may have delivered the developed world from the brink of economic suicide. That’s a gift that keeps on giving.
That was my thinking, too. Without Climategate, would all the other defalcations of the AGW crowd ever have come to light? I think not.

A close second for me versus the Tea Partiers. Frankly, anything that gets the left wing into such a tizzy is a huge win for me. Plus the jag-off congress types who say “Teabagger” are simply setting themselves up for evisceration by their opponents when they are called out on what that means – Mr. Schumer, what do you mean when you claim your constituents “suck balls”? Game and match, mofo!!!
Why doesn’t President Obama nationalize the National Basketball Association? Shouldn’t it belong to the ‘national workers’? It shouldn’t be run and played by greedy capitalists should it?

President Obama is expected to send a $3.8 trillion budget to Congress on Monday for the coming fiscal year, according to The New York Times.
Obama’s budget would increase financing for education and for civilian research programs by 6 percent and provide cash-strapped states $25 billion, the newspaper reported.
The proposal comes as the president seeks to impose a three-year spending freeze on domestic spending not related to national security or entitlement programs.
The budget proposes increases for programs at the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation and the Energy Department, according to the newspaper.
The fiscal budget looks to cut projects of the Army Corps of Engineers and scrub NASA’s plan to return astronauts to the moon.
National security, veterans programs, Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security would be exempted from the cuts.
WTF is this guy thinking? I remember, back in the 80s, when Reagan lamented that the entire National Debt hit $1 Trillion, now this guy is proposing a budget FOR JUST ONE YEAR of $3.8 TRILLION?
Recently, the insanity of a $1.38 TRILLION budget has been widely lamented, NOW IT’S UP TO $3.8 TRILLION?!?
I keep voting for Schuringa. I think I’m alone in this. Why? Simple.
He jumped into the fray. Didn’t talk about it, didn’t write about, didn’t protest it (Neda was a close second for me), but jumped in and beat it down. Just my take.

And Glenn Beck’s tireless work in telling us about the progressives in America and the threat they pose more than warrants the award he’s nominated for.
@ snork:
Voted for Tea Parties, cause since the election I had much less respect for the American people; tea parties showed there was a bit of spine left.

Thank you for reviving The Fallaci. I just wrote about it here.
Thanks also for the nomination, but no one should vote for me. Vote for Geert Wilders.
Bosch, those are great representations! They capture the spirit of the awards really well. Thanks.
Thanks, snowcrash
Who wants to bet that if republicans win big in November, Charles the small Johnson suddenly becomes a conservative again?

Naw – he was never really a conservative to start with. Just a confused hippie…

#135 Robert Spencer
Good to see you here Mr. Spencer! Hope you make a habit of it.
Why doesn’t President Obama nationalize the National Basketball Association? Shouldn’t it belong to the ‘national workers’? It shouldn’t be run and played by greedy capitalists should it?

WTF is this guy thinking? I remember, back in the 80s, when Reagan lamented that the entire National Debt hit $1 Trillion, now this guy is proposing a budget FOR JUST ONE YEAR of $3.8 TRILLION?
Recently, the insanity of a $1.38 TRILLION budget has been widely lamented, NOW IT’S UP TO $3.8 TRILLION?!?
The man is friggin INSANE!!!
Sorry, I freaked out in last post; confused “budget” with “deficit”. More coffee now….
I removed the sticky ~ we’ll post a reminder on each thread until Feb. 5
I keep voting for Schuringa. I think I’m alone in this. Why? Simple.
He jumped into the fray. Didn’t talk about it, didn’t write about, didn’t protest it (Neda was a close second for me), but jumped in and beat it down. Just my take.
