Good morning to all. I’m staying home from work today, nursing the worst hangover I’ve had in a long time. I feel like I’m recovering from major surgery……so of course our internet wasn’t working yesterday so I couldn’t join the Super Bowl threads. Oh my god….they DID it!!!!!

Now there’s the internal bra, which also does this, but goes one step further by putting a reinforcing structure in place, so that you don’t actually have to wear a bra. Ever. The product used is called Breform—a firm mesh cup that’s implanted under a layer of breast skin, effectively providing a support to lift and hold them

They keep saying “bipartisan” bill – well they have it, since a lot of Dems are against it as well, so I guess that’s not quite the “bipartisan” support they were counting on…

    That’s OK, Mandy.

I want to mention here this morning that I probably won’t be posting here at LGF any more.

It’s important to me to be able to say goodbye to my friends though, so I’m logging in one more time to do so.

Mandy, I’ll say it plainly: Iceweasel, Jimmah and a handful of others are destroying the climate here at LGF with their relentless bullying and behind-the-scenes targeting of people that they don’t like.

Also, there were some outrageous lies told about “Defenseman” on yesterdays’ morning open that were really the tipping point for me. I know the person who runs that blog, he’s a decent caring person and would never do what he has been accused of. I expressed my outrage at the end of the thread and was given the usual response from our two resident bullies.

I’m just not down with this kind of thing, it’s not what I come to LGF for.

Obama thinks that even after the election, he must continually campaign. As a result folk are having 0 burnout. I read somewhere that he has given more interviews in his first year than any one of his predecessors. These days the sound of his voice is a continuous drone that irritates – yea verily – even unto the back teeth.

    @ Middle-Earth:

I read that little flame war.

When we thought that Hoosier Hoops was the person behind the Defenseman blog the real person did not fess up and left HH twitching in the wind, as it were.

It would appear that the real person was Reginald Perrin who had a vendetta against Rodan. Anyway, Ice Weasel thought that this was most unsporting of RP, (which it was), and said so.

Irish Rose then jumped in defending RP and accusing Jimmah of being horrible to RP. Jimmah then waded in and pointed out that he had been on the thread until then, Ice Weasel got into the act, there was a loud bang and when the smoke had cleared Irish Rose had obviously flounced.

A couple of interesting points though:,

According to Ice, Defenseman was “allegedly” defending LGF.
According to Irish Rose, Defenseman has been closed because RP has “personal problems”.
Irish Rose is the second of the three Lizard queens to be hounded out of the site by the poisonous pair from across the pond. What now for Mandy Manners?

Good morning compatriots. Overheard at the Tea Party:

Earlier today, Tea Party Nation President Judson Phillips, organizer of the convention, told a crowd, “Complaining is not enough. We need to replace bad leadership with good leadership.”

He asked, “How many of you – before the tea party movement – were never involved in politics?”

Phillips smiled and scanned the room as more than 90 percent of people in the crowd eagerly raised their hands. To which he responded: “Thank you, Barack Obama.”

I got one of those emails today, but this one is really an excellent idea. If only something like this were possible!

Here’s a solution to all the controversy over full-body scanners at the airports. Have a booth that you can step into that will not X-ray you, but will detonate any explosive device you may have on you.

It would be a win-win for everyone, and there wold be none of this crap about racial profiling and this method would eliminate a long and expensive trial. Justice would be quick and swift.

    Case Closed!

I’m a huge fan of the Saints, but even I was wondering about that. I can’t understand the nuance of the game sometimes, you know? Why is one move okay and another a late hit? I still can’t figure out what constitutes pass interference – one time it’s called and the next time it isn’t. Better half says in the case of “roughing the passer” it’s a judgment call on the refs – if the player could have stopped his forward momentum and hit the passer anyway, you’re looking at 15 yards – sort of like an “offside – unabated to the quarterback” is apparently a bigger penalty than just offsides.

Another perspective: Is China a Paper Tiger?

Relevant quote that the blogger chose to highlight:

The myth that the Chicoms magically turned their economy around on an instant dime – one minute double-digit GDP growth via the US gorging on their exports, the next minute the exports fall off a cliff as we stop buying yet they still have double-digit GDP growth via a hocus-pocus stimulation of their domestic economy – is a myth few big-time investors believe in now.

And finally, folks are figuring out that of all China’s bubbles – make-believe growth, stocks, real estate – the biggest of all is its gigantic pile of “dead money” – those $2.4 trillion of our alleged dollars.

How many countless times have you heard some pundit bemoan how much we “owe” China? Yep, sure was stupid of us. We got all this stuff – as in real physical products we actually use in our lives – and they got all this paper, all these imaginary things called “T-bills” and such, and please explain how they cash them in.

Finally, bankers are figuring it out. “There’s nowhere for China’s reserves to go,” is the latest buzz in London’s City. “How do they unload them without taking a trillion dollar haircut?” And with the whiff, the merest whiff of the US defaulting on its debt, the Chicoms are running scared and retrenching. Their attempted stimulus of their economy has run out of steam – any more would be like pushing on a string.

So they’ve pulled back on buying up the world’s commodities, which is why everything from copper to oil to soybeans is down – which is why, e.g., Brazil’s Bovespa index is down thousands of points as China isn’t buying its beans and iron ore.

The way people talk about China now is how they talked about the soviet union in the 60s and 70s, as this all-powerful force that would replace the western “hegemony” with its superior and enlightened system. It was bullshit then and it’s bullshit now.

They appear to combine boxing and karate with football. I didn’t even know those sort of thing was allowed. I understand, shoving, pushing and tackling, but using fists and all that seemed to cross a line?
I wasn’t going to say this before but I will now. Manning is a great quarterback….Manning is also an arrogant arsehole who needed to be brought now a few notches. Thing is, he was an arrogant arsehole BEFORE he started playing in the big leagues. (personal experience)
That’s surprising, since Olivia and Archie Manning are such gracious people. I didn’t follow his college career – did he get a lot of hype and a swelled head there? I’d be interested in hearing about your experience with Peyton.

Yes his mother and father are fine people or seem to be.I don’t know anything about them except what I read. But their son is another matter. One of the games against the Crimson tide, manning led some of his players in a little dance stomping on the crimson tide logo on the field. Then, he climbed up in the stands (on our side) and led the opposition in songs. He had no idea how many people it took to hold a certain someone from storming his ass. (They did beat us btw)

Wasn’t the pile on thing. I noticed they were all fists running after other’s as if it was a boxing match. The pile on is one thing. Acting like its hockey is another. I kept wondering if all that was within the rules. There was one incident early in the game that one of the Colts was penalized for. One of the Saints caught the ball and one of the Colts started punching him all over the place until he dropped the ball. Some sort of call was made for that one. There were many players engaging in that sort of behavior, which I’ve never seen before. It was not accidental or just getting caught up in the game. Really dirty players. Didn’t see anything like that from any other team the Saints have played.

The audience usually does not see what the players see up close. And mostly they keep it to themselves. But I think the secret is out about Manning. No , Rose, we didn’t lie, we stated a FACT. One that is easily checkable and well known to all who were reading LGF and paying attention to what was happening with the stalkers at that time. Hoops got attacked by the stalkers because they believed, for some idiotic reason, that he was behind the ‘Defenseman’ site. The person who was really behind that site let Hoops take the fall for being responsible for it. He never stepped forward to take the heat off Hoops, despite his being targeted by the stalkers for months. This continued until the stalkers figured out for themselves who the proprietor of the site really was.

The slagging off of Hoops went on at defenseman’s site itself, so the proprietor could hardly claim ignorance about it.

Hoops is considered to be a good guy here on LGF by just about everyone- and rightly so – one of the best in fact – and here you are, inviting everyone to believe that he too is a liar. Good luck with that.

I just came back to this thread to check later replies, and I scrolled up to find the disgraceful comments about “Defenseman”… an individual who is as kind and decent as they come. A man who is no longer posting for personal reasons, and is not here to defend himself.
Iceweasel and Jimmah, you make me sick.
And SHAME on you Hoops… you damned well know better.

That stuff reminds me of how I get rid of fire ant hills. You have to have two fireant hills within running distance of each other. DIg way down in one and scoop up about a thousand and run like crap before they climb up the shovel. After a few trips and a fight that lasts for two days, they are mostly dead and they rest moving on…that’s LGF
