This isn’t any news to anyone who has been paying attention, but just for the record, naked misogyny is proudly on display here:

Pamela Geller Shrieks on Joy Behar

Blogosphere | Tue, Feb 9, 2010 at 10:10:19 am PST

Pamela Geller’s appearance last night on the Joy Behar show with Ron Reagan and Stephanie Miller perfectly demonstrates why Geller has become known on the Internet as the “shrieking harpy.”

Geller actually seems to think she came off well on this show, in which she tells Ron Reagan what his own father would have thought about Sarah Palin, and rants continuously like a howler monkey on crack for the whole segment. Notice that it ends as Joy Behar tells Geller, “You have not shut up.”

His defense will be, of course, that this was a debate that involved other women who weren’t being called harpies. That would be like Robert Byrd saying it was ok for him to use the “N” word, because he’s sitting next to Jesse Jackson. Non-sequitur. But notice, also, that his stated justification is that other extreme left-wing fanatics on the internet also do it, so that makes it ok.

This shouldn’t be surprising, given the classless way that this (these?) blogger(s?) also uses the homophobic term “teabagger” routinely. And as we all know, one of his favorite sockpuppets regulars has been caught planting n-bombs on other sites.

Memo to whomever is writing that blog: you don’t have to use such juvenile, bigoted, and offensive language, if you have an actual point to make. But if you don’t, shutting up will make less of an ass of yourself(ves?) than displaying your bigotry and childishness.

There. Somebody had to say it. This is an open thread.

Extra: It appears that the time has finally come when Islamist talking points are openly discussed there:

re: #232 JeffM70
I simply don’t understand this obsession the far right has with Israel. It’s almost as if the United States has to subordinate its interests to those of Israel’s, at least in instances where there is a disagreement.

What I never got about Israel is if we were trying to make up for the horrors of the holocaust, why we didn’t just give them a part of Germany…

25 comments go by before someone responds lamely to this:

260 JeffM70 Tue, Feb 9, 2010 12:22:49pm

re: #235 jamesfirecat

They wanted their ancestral home land returned to them, and Germany was not it, so why would they want it?

Soon, Mearsheimer and Walt will be respected scientists there. Just watch.

Extra Extra: Speaking of misogynists at the BVoAF, it seems like their misogynist-in-chief is leaving the farm due to lack of internet:

43 Cato the Elder Tue, Feb 9, 2010 5:02:48pm

Just to let you all know, I will soon be losing my internet account for lack of funds. It’s been real, but don’t expect to hear from me in the foreseeable future.

Bubye, dick. Just because you were never able to get any doesn’t mean you should hate women whom you’ve never met.

I’m glad I finally got to see Pamela Geller courtesy of LGF. Joy Behar puts down Sarah Palin for crib notes and 5 seconds later can’t remember that Ms. Palin referred to Barak as a charismatic guy with a teleprompter. I got a laugh out of Pamela saying he’s got a prompter when he’s making the moves on Michelle.

Funny about CJ’s Google search proving that Pam Geller “has become known on the internet as the ’shrieking harpy.’” Just looking over the links I find some to LGF itself, a handful referring to LGF, and many calling other women (not PG) ’shrieking harpies.’
In that last group there are quite a few leftwing bloggies slapping that tag on Sarah Palin.

Seems to be a pretty standard epithet favored by the left for uppity women. Does not seem to be connected to Pam Geller in particular…or at all, if you discard the LGF-connected links.

So the “expert” opinion is that a former Governor is not fit to be president.

That’s great. Take that to the bank Alaska. You have to be where the cool kids hang out to be qualified. That would be any place with more than 20 electoral votes. Of course if you have 3 electoral votes and actually talk more about a state that you were actually NOT the Senator of then you are supremely qualified to be vice-president — mainly as an insurance policy for the sitting president. Because after all who wants to take out a president if there is an even bigger numb nuts waiting in the wings?

But my digressions digress at this point.

We are presuming a political royalty in this country where we substitute pedigree and presence for leadership. I may not agree with all of Sarah Palin’s political viewpoints but there is something truly disturbing about those who say she is not qualified to be president when so many who these same folks contend are qualified (including the current one) are the one’s who have gotten us in the present predicament.

At this point I don’t think she could do any worse and I actually suspect she would do much better.

And if anyone thinks they can do better then I think its time to stand up m***erf***er!

The part were Pam is saying that America is the greatest experiment in human history and Behar’s reply is “So what?” sums up the lefts attitude towards America completely. They hate this country, our morals, our history, and our people. They are parasites on a healthy society and they need to be dealt with. Definition of sharmuta
    sharmuta
•arabic term for slut or bitch.
“that girl is a nasty sharmuta.”
by Nikki W., Algona, IA, USA, Jun 23 1999 (Edit definition)

So, Sharm is off the farm, too? Is Ludwig still holding court? How about Iceweasel?

I remember those twits telling me over and over how they were laughing at me, for my foolish denial of AGW-dogma. And finally Ludwig banned me for same, after daring me to say ONE MORE WORD! I figured that was as good a time as any to say goodbye to that abysmal pit of ignorance.

I thought Pam acquitted herself very well, in a very hostile environment where the deck was stacked against her getting any licks in. Gay Ronnie was his usual unfunny, unintelligent self. Behar is unreal…it’s amazing this totally witless “comedienne” has her own show.

As long as we’re still talking about The Village, CJ got a warning for abusing ReTweet via bit.ly. They told him to cut it out.

I’m writing in regards to your bit.ly API usage. You are making an unusually large number of shorten requests to our API (often over 50,000/hour), and it looks like you are doing this on page load (for the Twitter button on pages such as http://littlegreenfootballs.com/article/35599).

Normally it is best not to make /shorten requests on a page load, but instead to make a /shorten request to bit.ly when a user clicks a share button. You can find an example of that at code.google.com. We are increasing our application of rate limits to manage abusive API users, and we encourage you to make the above fix as soon as possible to ensure that your site continues to function normally. I’d be glad to discuss this further and/or answer any questions you have, and thanks for using bit.ly!

    There’s a big DUH in there somewhere…

I’m assuming these are mostly adults and this behavior seems really creepy and unhealthy. Very entertaining though in a strange way – like watching animals on the savannah, particularly hyenas.

I agree that insulting one woman doesn’t make someone a misogynist. OTOH, when you choose a gender-specific word for a repeatedly-used slur, you shouldn’t be surprised if some people take it that way.

IMO it is not surprising that the young are idealistic and liberal; it’s all they’ve known since they were born. They rely on family (or a substitute) to provide for them, protect them and nurture them, until one day they’re thrown out into the real world.

New York Senate Expels Monserrate Over Assault

The State Senate on Tuesday expelled a senator convicted of domestic assault, the first time in nearly a century that the Legislature has forced a member from office.

The Senate voted 53-to-8 to immediately oust the senator, Hiram Monserrate, a Queens Democrat convicted last fall of a misdemeanor for dragging his companion down the hallway of his apartment building.

The expulsion leaves the fragile balance of power in the Senate divided between 31 Democrats and 30 Republicans. Because legislation requires 32 votes to pass, Democrats will be unable to approve bills with just the support of their own conference. In an effort to minimize the disruption, Gov. David A. Paterson late Tuesday called a special election for March 16.
