PLA wants China to sell US bonds

by Rodan ( 176 Comments › )
Filed under Barack Obama, China, Democratic Party, Progressives at February 9th, 2010 - 3:30 pm

Barack Hussein Obama has made America more vulnerable than ever. His spending binge is in part financed by Chinese capital. Don’t fool yourselves about how dangerous it is. China, which was Maoist, has morphed into a Nationalist Fascist 3rd Way regime. Their goal is to re-establish Chinese domination of Asia. Personally, I couldn’t care less about Taiwan, but the fact that Chinese generals want their government to retaliate against US for arm sales is a worrying sign.

BEIJING (Reuters) – Senior Chinese military officers have proposed that their country boost defense spending, adjust PLA deployments, and possibly sell some U.S. bonds to punish Washington for its latest round of arms sales to Taiwan.

The calls for broad retaliation over the planned U.S. weapons sales to the disputed island came from officers at China’s National Defence University and Academy of Military Sciences, interviewed by Outlook Weekly, a Chinese-language magazine published by the official Xinhua news agency.

The interviews with Major Generals Zhu Chenghu and Luo Yuan and Senior Colonel Ke Chunqiao appeared in the issue published on Monday.

Read the rest: China PLA officers urge economic punch against U.S.

A decade ago this would have been laughed at. However, this is very serious thanks to the bi-partisan irresponsible spending policies of the last nine years. Obama blames Bush, but this is akin to someone complaining about credit card debt by maxing out five more cards. For the sake of economic and national security we need a balanced budget.  We should not be vulnerable to Chinese blackmailing.

A decade ago, the Chinese tested the new president with a bump on one of our airplanes from a fighter. Now, it’s so much easier.

We’ve shown monumental weakness, naivety, and prostituted ourselves.

The bad actors will now revert to form to take advantage.

    This is just the beginning.

Frankly, this is a good thing.. Like taking a gross cough syrup to treat your cold.

Every bond sold is that much less of our country owned by the communists/socialists, and like the pain of resetting a broken nose, it is the best for us in the long run if it gets washington (one way or another) to be more fiscially responsible.

Federal government needs to be taken through the Financial Peace seminar. Debt to another nation really isn’t a good thing, no matter what anyone says:

The ower is a slave to the lender

Agreed. Best to get this over while we’re still strong. If we become more dependant we’ll be easy pickens!

A seemingly grassroots organization that’s mounted an online campaign to counter the tea party movement is actually the front end of an elaborate scheme that funnels funds — including sizable labor union contributions — through the offices of a prominent Democratic party lawyer.

A Web site popped up in January dedicated to preventing the tea party’s “radical” and “dangerous” ideas from “gaining legislative traction,” targeting GOP candidates in Illinois for the firing squad.

“This movement is a fad,” proclaims TheTeaPartyIsOver.org, which was established by the American Public Policy Center (APPC), a D.C.-based campaign shop that few people have ever heard of.

But a close look reveals the APPC’s place in a complex network of money flowing from the mountainous coffers of the country’s biggest labor unions into political slush funds for Democratic activists.

Here’s how it works: What appears like a local groundswell is in fact the creation of two men — Craig Varoga and George Rakis, Democratic Party strategists who have set up a number of so-called 527 groups, the non-profit election organizations that hammer on contentious issues (think Swift Boats, for example).

These are the bastards we have to defeat to get the debt down. Them and their lackey in the White House

Insane, isn’t it? They seem only to want to give credit to people who are mortgaged up to the hilt. If you pay your debts and are responsible they don’t seem to want anything to do with you! Bizarre!

Oh yes! I’m sorry to hear your went without power for so long – and it seems long when it’s so cold out. I’m real glad you got it back!

I had some real scares over the weekend. Power never went out for more than a few minutes but the thought that it could go out was very real. Especially when I went out and saw how many trees came down. One was fallen over a car and it’s branches were tangled in the power line. Then I heard the news that ten of thousands of people have been without power since Friday and it just made me very grateful that I had mine.

    @ Nevergiveup:

I can’t stand most t.v. Prime example: I came home last night from work and turn the tube on. My brother had been visiting and left the channel on MTV. It was some show about a highschool activist wanting to expose the “horrors and cruelty” of hunting. So she has her camera and goes to Texas. They apparently find some 20ish Texan (whom I suspect is not a Texan, his accent was waaaaaayyyy off) to take them out hunting. They are riding around in the back of a truck and spot a whitetail in a pasture. They then stop the truck and start to chase after it with a rifle. Stupid doesn’t even begin to describe what I saw.

Funniest thing Medurara ever said at BVoAF was all about learning climate science from a mail-order school. I mean, it was just like real college, only fake.

Good evening haters! Since you are so interested I will tell you, 6 D batteries and he rents for $50 a month. His wardrobe (I have to dress him every day) costs me at least $300 a year.

Huh, actually I’m not sure what to think. If this is any indication of who she actually is, she doesn’t seem to be the worst of the worst politically speaking. Of course I have not been around to read any conversations or commentary by her. http://www.kejda.net/about-me/

My take is that Dee went to california, interviewed cluck and met his fiancee who is not sharmie.
Sharmie found out either from the reporter when he called her to interview her or she found out from the article when it came out.

I am curios as to why she jumped ship at LGF. She was on Irish Rose’s Facebook as a friend.

selrahC was told about Sharm-wows obsession with a former “lizard” and that she might go “play misty on him” – he claimed that he understood and would make it plain to her that there was no way they would ever be an item.

Dedicated to Sharmuta & King Yertle:

    It Won’t Be You
    —Bessie Smith

You have really broke my heart
    I wish I knew before we’d start
I thought you’d always be true
That’s why I left my home for you
But everything has turned out wrong
And you have left me all alone
So I’ve made up my my mind
To get someone who always will be kind

No matter how cruel he may be, it won’t be you
If he beats me and breaks my heart, it won’t be you
He may love me, and treat me kind
Love me so hard I’ll lose my mind
But I’m satisfied to know it won’t be you

She is very young. Intelligent enough and a decent writer. The ugly snark and appalling lack of good judgment we can hope she’ll outgrow. Hope™ !

I suspect she saw LGF as an entry to the world of conservative/libertarian punditry, but once the Contentions gig came around, she began to distance herself from CJ. Why on earth would anyone with serious ambition want to be associated with LGF now?

    Late again, oh well.

Think about it for a moment: who will buy these bonds? Nobody will want to buy US debt for a multitude of reasons. If nobody wants to buy them, China can’t sell them. If China can’t sell them, they’re worthless. China has bet its entire economy on buying US debt and hoping that the US will never have another recession, that the US was “too big the fail”. Nothing, nothing is too big to fail, and China will find that out pretty soon. It’ll be sat holding piles of worthless paper, pining for the days when it could dictate to the world because of it’s alleged spending power.

The thing is, China is run by socialists with an entitlement complex. They believe the world owes them everything it has and they’ve gladly taken it when things were easy, without really bothering to actually build up a domestic economy. Now their own economy is in the crapper, built entirely around foreign demand that simply isn’t there any more. They’ve run out of other people’s money. They’re an investor that put everything into a “sure bet” like a day trader thinking he could make a few bucks on Enron the day before it fell over and now they’re left holding bonds that in all likelihood they cannot sell.

And if you can’t sell something, it isn’t worth a damn penny. That’s basic market principles which, in spite of appearances of economic transformation, is something the Chinese leadership never really grasped.
