Late again, oh well.

Think about it for a moment: who will buy these bonds? Nobody will want to buy US debt for a multitude of reasons. If nobody wants to buy them, China can't sell them. If China can't sell them, they're worthless. China has bet its entire economy on buying US debt and hoping that the US will never have another recession, that the US was "too big the fail". Nothing, nothing is too big to fail, and China will find that out pretty soon. It'll be sat holding piles of worthless paper, pining for the days when it could dictate to the world because of it's alleged spending power.

The thing is, China is run by socialists with an entitlement complex. They believe the world owes them everything it has and they've gladly taken it when things were easy, without really bothering to actually build up a domestic economy. Now their own economy is in the crapper, built entirely around foreign demand that simply isn't there any more. They've run out of other people's money. They're an investor that put everything into a "sure bet" like a day trader thinking he could make a few bucks on Enron the day before it fell over and now they're left holding bonds that in all likelihood they cannot sell.

And if you can't sell something, it isn't worth a damn penny. That's basic market principles which, in spite of appearances of economic transformation, is something the Chinese leadership never really grasped.

Two questions:
1. Does “Lars” use D cell or C cell batteries?

Oh, and I really don’t want to know the answers.

She is very young. Intelligent enough and a decent writer. The ugly snark and appalling lack of good judgment we can hope she'll outgrow. Hope™ !

I suspect she saw LGF as an entry to the world of conservative/libertarian punditry, but once the Contentions gig came around, she began to distance herself from CJ. Why on earth would anyone with serious ambition want to be associated with LGF now?
