I think the ABC video hosted at ‘Yahoo’ (Is This Global Warming?) is in regards to all the snow we’ve had lately (I don’t feel like downloading and watching the video, so I’m guessing as to its content), but this is the headline below the video:
“Climate scientists say winter storms bolster the case for global warming.”
I saw a few days ago where a liberal person at another site linked to a story (at a British online paper, I think) arguing that all the snow and cold lately actually makes the case for global warming.
Only liberals can make a bunch of snow look like evidence in favor of their view on global warming.

Since big cars are soon to be a thing of the past. I took a Cadillac Escalade for a test drive, just to drive that sucker before they become extinct.
The salesman sat in the passenger seat describing the car and all its wonderful options. The seats were of particular interest. He explained that the seats directed warm air to your butt in the winter and directed cool air to your butt in the summer heat. I stated the car must be a Republican car. He asked why I thought it was a Republican car and I explained that if it were a Democratic car, the seats would blow smoke up your ass year-round.

Another aspect, albeit not impossible, but something which comes mind is that he just came back from what sounds like a sight seeing tour of the country. Not a particular easy thing if you happen the have a physical disability. Not impossible of course, but certainly not easy for someone with a physical disability.
He could have a disability. From outward appearances, it does not show, but there are numerous conditions that really might not have the hallmark of someone you think to be disabled. (I work in orthopaedics, thus I encounter this stuff day in & day out) So my instinct is to pick up on things that probably do not register on the everyday radar.
Add to this, I am pretty familiar with Canine Partners for Life, and know how they train these dogs. (I’m quite close to a facility we have dealt with from time to time) The majority of the time, they serve either the blind, the deaf, or the physically disabled. They can also be trained to help folks with things like seizure disorders, diabetes, etc.
I’m not saying his situation is not legitimate, but after reading the story in the Baltimore Sun, and his internet brand, something seems awry.

Yes, it could be a neurologic condition. But if that is the case, I would imagine the doctor who provided his note would have some reservation about him driving to the court house.

I’m not sure of the law over there, but in this country if you have an epileptic seizure you’re banned from driving and operating any form of licensed heavy equipment until you can demonstrate two years seizure free. The rules are similar for other neurological disorders if they’re likely to affect your awareness or ability to concentrate – meaning if your disability is profound enough to require a service dog, you can’t drive.
I would be very surprised if the laws aren’t similar for you as well.

Oil is flopping up and down 5 % or more/day of late, and the industry is wary, to say the least. A recent large potential find in the US shallow water but deep drilling US GOM is the last big ‘maybe’ find I heard of, about 1.5 months back or so. The various shale plays in N. America have gone moribund, as natural gas prices simply suck.
