Black Children Are An “Endangered Species.”

by WrathofG-d ( 201 Comments › )
Filed under Abortion, Politics at February 15th, 2010 - 8:00 pm

The eyebrow-raising ads featuring a young black child are an effort by the anti-abortion movement to use race to rally support within the black community.

That should give everybody a little something to talk about.

The billboards went up last week in Atlanta and urge black women to “get outraged.”

The effort is sponsored by Georgia Right to Life, which also is pushing legislation that aims to ban abortions based on race.

Black women accounted for the majority of abortions in Georgia in 2006, even though blacks make up just a third of state population, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Nationally, black women were more than three times as likely to get an abortion in 2006 compared with white women, according to the CDC.

“I think it’s necessary,” Cheryl Sullenger, senior policy adviser for Operation Rescue, said of the billboard campaign. “Abortion in the black community is at epidemic proportions. They’re not really aware of what’s actually going on. If it shocks people … it should be shocking.”

Anti-abortion advocates say the procedure has always been linked to race. They claim Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger wanted to eradicate minorities by putting birth control clinics in their neighborhoods, a charge Planned Parenthood denies.

Of course, the Leftist Pro-abortion for any reason what-so-ever nutcases, including those at Planned Parenthood, are livid:

“The language in the billboard is using messages of fear and shame to target women of color,” said Leola Reis, a spokeswoman for Planned Parenthood of Georgia.  “If we want to reduce the number of abortions and unintended pregnancies, we need to work as a community to make sure we get quality affordable health care services to as many women and men as possible.”

Abortion rights advocates are disturbed.   Spelman College professor Beverly Guy-Sheftall called the strategy a gimmick.

“To use racist arguments to try to bait black people to get them to be anti-abortion is just disgusting,” said Guy-Sheftall, who teaches women’s history and feminist thought at the historically black women’s college.

“These one-issue approaches that are not about saving the black family or black children, it’s just a big distraction,” she said. “Many black people don’t know who Margaret Sanger is and could care less.”

Reminds me of a lyric from NWA:

Black man, black woman, black baby
White man, white woman, white baby
White man, black woman, black baby
Black man, white woman, black baby

    Since when are they endangered?

They claim Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger wanted to eradicate minorities by putting birth control clinics in their neighborhoods, a charge Planned Parenthood denies.

What proof do they have that Margaret Sanger wasn’t associated with the eugenics movement in the 1920s? From what I’ve seen, the proof against Sanger (and by extension, Planned Parenthood) is damning.

We need men of ALL races to step up and be men.

We need men & women of ALL races to stop sleeping around & getting pregnant outside of marriage.

The question was rhetorical – Kirly hit it on the nose though. Only an excuse to get the clinics seated in town. Overall care wouldn’t be offered from those clinics. I doubt you would run to the abortion clinic to fix a broken arm, for example.

Similarly, pro-life people are pro-life, even if the babies grow up to be liberals who vote against them, or even criminals or whatever.

We both, both groups, very much believe in our convictions, to the point of being willing to sacrifice for it. Thing is, what they are willing to sacrifice for…

  20. 20 | February 15, 2010 8:39 pm

You know, I have to admit that in my younger days I was pro abortion.
    1. I didn’t really understand the procedure.
    2. I believed the “its just a bunch of cells” crap.
    3. I fell for the “no man is going to tell me what to do with my body”

I honestly didn’t believe it was a baby because that is what I was told!
But when I became pregnant with Adrianna, that changed everything and after that NO ONE could convince me it’s not a child.
I simply can’t understand how any woman who has carried a child could have an abortion, unless their life was in danger.

  21. 21 | February 15, 2010 8:39 pm

Forget all the subliminals, simply referring to how many are aborted without mentioning how many are born….is not terribly compelling from a logical standpoint. Reading that, one almost draws the conclusion that they could be having three times the amount of sex.

The breakdown of the black family is really an epidemic.

I likes them thar dimples on womens

The phrase dimples of Venus refers to the pair of sagittally symmetrical indentations sometimes visible on the human lower back, just superior to the gluteal cleft. The dimples are directly superficial to the two sacroiliac joints, the sites where the sacrum attaches to the ilium of the pelvis.

This term, while informal, is a historically accepted name within the medical profession for the superficial topography of the sacroiliac joints. The Latin name is fossae lumbales laterales (‘lateral lumbar indentations’–literally ‘ditches’ or ‘trenches’).

There was an argument forwarded in the recent past on how the Progressive/Liberals had to recruit more to their way of politics and societal thining since it is they who are most prone to kill their unborn. That is why they go after the illegals. It’s a way to increase their voter base and still have abortions at will for any reason.

Actually, Walter started setting it up yesterday with a troll threat. His “paper” was good, IMO, just not good enough for the parsers of The Village. He cited sources, just like King Liz, but no one wanted to read them, and demanded that he provide technical proof that the flawed data spewed by flawed programs affected the flawed conclusions. I couldn’t do that, and the Lizzies certainly can’t, won’t and didn’t.

It is creepy. But this is the policy that blacks consistently vote for. Black males are also responsible for 51% of the homicides in America. But that does not seem addressable either.

I was banned from LGF for pointing out that AGW was entirely unproven. But first CJ preventing from linking to any outside articles that refuted the silly nonsense he picked up in a novel he apparently read.

I suspect CJ has Walter on a tight leash. Considering the way Walter treats other commenters I could not care less. He is a toad.

The black underclass are wards of state. Black women are provided with incentives to breed – child allowances and subsidized housing. But abortion is offered on request for the “unwanted” – inconvenient – child. Foster-care also available for the “no longer” wanted child who is abused, usually by the mother’s boyfriends who do not want to be bothered by another man’s child, even though the child allowance probably finds its way up his nose. These practices are a what make ours such a caring and humane society.

Well, as it sits, it isn’t much of an “essay” in the traditional sense. It lacks a significant amount of context, for one. Anyone who just grabbed it and started reading really wouldn’t know what was going on.

But regardless, one would have thought that with all the threads over there that feature nothing more than pics of the beach, music videos, and pithy phrases, allowing the lizards a thread to discuss Walter’s hard work wouldn’t have been asking a whole heckova lot out of CJ. One would have thought…

So I figured that, if nothing else, it proves that we run things a little differently over here. Maybe they’ll finally get the hint.

It is interesting. If some white supremacist saw this and said “Good! I hope they abort them all!”, people would be justifyably outraged. But if someone see the same thing and says “Genocide!” some of the same people reply “Many black people don’t know who Margaret Sanger is and could care less.”

WTF? Would it help Nazism’s image if most Jews didn’t know who Julius Streicher was? What does that have to do with the price of apples? Sanger was a racist who advocated Genocide. Her dreams of genocide are being fulfilled. I don’t know which is more appalling: that Sanger’s goals are being met, or that someone in the black community would defend that with the lame excuse that “Many black people don’t know who Margaret Sanger is and could care less.”

    Wow.

Saudi official questions new sanctions on Iran: “Sanctions are a long-term solution,” the Saudi minister said. “But we see the issue in the shorter term because we are closer to the threat,” referring to Iran. “We need immediate resolution rather than gradual resolution.” I have long held that the Saudi’s actually want Israel to attack Iran, and would actually facilitate it, i.e. allowing a IDF fly over of Saudi airspace and even refueling. We shall see. Politics makes strange bedfellows.

Over the last couple of months though I have noticed that people are now making mocking comments when it gets nutty.

    Based solely on the article…

    Hmmm.

On one hand, one side changing the terms of a contract in the middle of its tenure seems wrong.

On the other, the union was foolish not to accept the 25 extra minutes, ESPECIALLY since there would be some modest extra compensation. The school’s profile is dismal; however, I hate teachers’ being responsible for drop out and failure rates without seeing some evidence that the teacher were actually at fault.

I wonder whether the fired teachers can reapply for their positions if they accept the new terms.

The three Irish passport-holders accused of taking part in the assassination of a Hamas commander in Dubai last month do not exist, Ireland’s Department of Foreign Affairs said on Tuesday.

The trio of alleged Irishmen identified Monday in Dubai as Gail Folliard, Evan Dennings and Kevin Daveron do not appear in Ireland’s records of legitimate passport-holders, said the government.

“We are unable to identify any of those three individuals as being genuine Irish citizens. Ireland has issued no passports in those names,” the department said in a statement.

The government added that the Irish passport numbers publicized by Dubai authorities also are counterfeits, because they have the wrong number of digits and contain no letters

    HaHa–that’s a hoot.

Saudi official: Freeze settlements rather than impose sanction on Iran
    Published: 02.16.10, 14:46 / Israel News
A Saudi foreign policy official on Tuesday stressed Riyadh was not advocating military action against Iran but rather a linkage with the Middle East peace process as a faster and more effective means to ease tensions in the region.

“There is no point in our spending all our time on sanctions which will not have an effect in the short term. We need something more tangible,” he said, asking not to be identified. “We need to do something on Israel and the Palestinians … For instance, the US could get Israel to halt (Jewish) settlements” on the occupied West Bank, the official said. (AFP)

Another brillant Saudi Idea???? Yeah that oughta stop Iran.
