Health Care Summit recap

Filed under Barack Obama, Democratic Party, Economy, Elections 2010, Healthcare, Progressives, Republican Party at February 25th, 2010 - 3:00 pm

I didn’t get to watch much of this summit. However in my Lunch Break, I did get see Eric Cantor and yes, even McCain take Obama to task. What I noticed is that Barack Hussein Obama the whole time was smirking at the Republicans. he seemed arrogant and also looking at them as they are inferior. His posture was that of a 3rd World Dictator feeling untouchable looking down at the Peasants.

What are the Netizen’s take on this?

Let’s have a discussion on this summit.

Update: below are some Clips showing Obama’s arrogance.

from Empire1 on the last thread, it needs to go right about here->:

Exactly! My sister and I were talking about that when she was here from Texas to visit. I pointed out that health insurance is the only kind that pays for routine maintenance, not just major things like car accidents or the house burning down. Want less expensive insurance? Go back to major medical problems only.

I honestly didn’t want the R’s to go because I was afraid they were going to get their asses handed to them.
To say I was pleasantly surprised is an understatement.
BO made a huge mistake in doing this. Them Dems have said over and over ..the mean ol’ R’s have no plan they just say no..wahhh

And the R’s had their A game going today. Citing facts and ideas and you could just see barry thinking who is the MORON who thought this would be a good idea!
They can’t say to the American people that the R’s don’t have a plan anymore because the idiotic Dems just SHOWCASED the R’s plan for them!!!
    LMAO!

I also don’t think that when McCain pointed out the backroom deals, that barrys answer “we can talk about the process or we can talk about how to help Americans” went over very well.
Did NO ONE tell him that us Americans are pissed off at the backroom deals that bought votes for this pos??

I feel this way any time I hear him speak. Cannot watch him (or Gibbs) any longer.

Hubby had a great idea for “healthcare” reform last night. If you are sick, stay home! Leave everything else as is, but if you are sick, instead of the employer paying for “sick” day’s the government would. I thought it was an interesting concept.

How many of you all have gotten sick because someone at work came in sick? Then multiply that out to include $$ due to loss of work, doctors visits, prescriptions, etc.

I know conceptually, it wouldn’t work, but I thought it was interesting anyway! He was on a rage because people at his work have been passing the same crap around for about a month now.

Something tells me that those “customs” will not apply to Muslim/Arab goods made in Judea and Samaria. Thus their law/decision is religious based, and well….

That’s all the Zero cabal did. Bring in phony sob stories including Zero’s very own, implying that just because his daughter got into the emergency room, other children may not.
Someone corrected him on that. Anyone showing up at an emergency room gets treated.
They didn’t give any real evidence or information abt. cost, workability, quality. And they had no answers for the questions the gop raised.

A wide-awake Republican group—or Tea Party group, for that matter—would grab up a few hundred gross of those novelty “clacking teeth” they used to sell at joke shops, print an appropriate anti-Obamacare slogan on them, and distribute them widely.

    This is DELICIOUS!!

  46. 47 | February 25, 2010 3:35 pm

As I’ve said before, Obama’s mannerisms remind me of Benito Mussolini. All this was was political theater to give the Democrats cover when they ram this through with Reconcilliation. They’ve already decided what they are going to do, they just want to bamboozel the voters and stave off a Democrat disaster at the polls in November. I think it is already too late to do that.

  47. 48 | February 25, 2010 3:35 pm

    @ WrathofG-d:

What, you expect the EU to follow it’s own rules? That would be a first!

The worst part is, ebcause the EU is a customs union and never was a free trade area, any decision they make on what can and can’t be imported and any tariffs they apply must be applied and enforced by member states. It was the very first step they took to destroy national sovereignty, and for them it was a pretty easy first step to take as most people get a bit confused about the differences between a customs union and a free trade area.

So despite the fact that my own country’s government probably wouldn’t take a step like this (and it pains me to have to put that “probably” in there), there’s nothing they can do. UK border officials will be required to apply restrictions to products from Judea and Samaria even though the UK government has made no policy on the matter.

Two generations from freedom to slavery. That’s all it took.

Aye, we found that out with the whole PFI nonsense Brown cooked up when he was chancellor. He managed to keep a huge lump of spending off the books for years by pretending it was being covered by private companies, which allowed him to pretend further that he’d rescued us from “boom and bust” by showing the appearance of continual economic growth and an apparently growing government surplus, but eventually the government bought back their debt (after Brown became PM, naturally) and we found out just how big a problem we had. It seems likely he’d got the idea from Enron.

Furthermore, he (idi amin) made them laugh. Once, persuaded by his commanding officer to open a bank account in which he deposited £10, he had within a few hours written nearly £2,000 worth of cheques, a prophetic indication of his future skill with figures.

The New York Times commented on his “gentle political deftness” and talked sympathetically of the problems now facing him. In short, he was taken seriously.

Economically, Amin’s shameless incompetence was soon evident. He had no policies, bar extortion. Whilst he raised military spending by about 500 pc, inflation rose to 700 pc, fuelled by Amin’s demand that, if the nation was poor, more money be printed.

    British Tea Party

The inaugural British Tea Party will take place on Saturday in my home town of Brighton, and I’ll be speaking. Do try to come: here are the details.

Labour has raised more than a trillion pounds in additional taxation since 1997. Yet, unbelievably, Gordon Brown has still managed to run up a deficit of 12.6 per cent of GDP (Greece’s is 12.7 per cent). A far lower level of taxation brought Americans out in spontaneous protest last year.

If you happen to be coming to the Conservative Spring Conference, do please pop in: the Tea Party is five minutes’ walk from the conference venue. It is, however, outside the security zone, and anyone is welcome to come. Oh, and this being England, we’ll be serving actual, you know, tea. I hope to see some of this blog’s readers there.!

Don’t bother, it’ll be a flop. It’s politically organised from the top down, not a bottom-up movement, so it’ll never gain any impetus and will disappear very fast. It’s fairly typical of how the meia/political class operates here, though; they see a successful movement in America and try to emulate it, without understanding that the movement they’re trying to copy was driven by the people and left the politicians standing in their dust. They think they can create the same effect here by copying the outward manifestations of “tea parties” with no idea what made them start in the first place.

.Vancouver police say a body has been discovered and that it could be that of missing actor Andrew Koenig.

Police were to release more details at a news conference later Thursday, and say Koenig’s family will be present.

Police have asked reporters to gather in Stanley Park, where the body was found at about noon Thursday.

Koenig disappeared on Feb. 14 and is best known for his Richard “Boner” Stabone role in the 1980s sitcom “Growing Pains.”

On Thursday, his father, Walter Koenig, told a news conference at the Vancouver Police Department that his son suffers from depression.

Koenig, himself an actor who played the part of a Russian crew member on the original “Star Trek” TV series, implored people visiting Vancouver for the Olympics to look out for his son.

I stopped off at The Strand Bookstore downtown on the way home to pick up a good read. While I was getting ready to leave I noticed the window display. Hanging in the window were oval portraits of US Presidents. Lincoln, Eisenhower, JFK, Truman, FDR, etc,.. Obaba of course. A whole bunch of them framed the glass. But not one Bush. Neither of the Bushes were there. It didn’t surprise me but it annoyed me. I love NY but it is so freaking liberal I want to scream sometimes!!!

American Dental Association’s Greed Creates Need for Borrowed Dentures

The fact that it is a denture doesn’t lessen the severity of being without a functional prosthesis. The idea that a woman had to wear her “dead sister’s teeth”, was the story told by New York Rep. Louise Slaughter at President Obama’s health care summit http://www.youtube.com/watch?v= zkJByadebXY& feature= player_ embedded# and is just one story of many that involves the critical state of our health and dental care system in our nation. People shouldn’t have to do without a functional prosthesis, whether it being an arm, leg, or denture.

We’ve been dealing with healthcare being controlled by the American Medical Association, American Dental Association, Big Pharma Corporations and the Insurance companies leaving us with little or no money to meet our day to day expenses. I know lots of people that went to their grave sick and broke, paying for healthcare expenses. Just visit one of your neighborhood convalescent centers and take a look at our people and where our current healthcare system is getting us. Look at the healthcare, dental care and financial situation that the residents and their families are in. Some don’t have dentures or a sister to borrow from. It’s no joke and a serious situation. Health and dental care is unaffordable for most American families leaving people with no choice but to do without.

If corporate ADA would quit squeezing out competition it would free up more chairtime for children, restorative, cosmetic, and emergency dental procedures but instead, corporate ADA’s self-serving political agenda is hurting consumers by suppressing qualified competitors that provide oral health care services, especially those with disparities. The American Dental Association works against its own vision and mission statement by suppressing competition that has been trained and educated in providing oral health care services to those that are unable to pay the high prices charged by dentist leaving Americans without needed dental care. Midlevel oral healthcare providers include denturists, dental health aide therapists, and independent practice for dental hygienists.

The American Dental Association uses money to fight Dental Hygienists from having independent practices, the ADA fights and prevents Denturists from having independent practices and funnels money to state dental associations to prosecute Denturists so they can’t provide affordable denture care to people. The ADA, waste money fighting Alaska, to prevent Dental Health Aide Therapists from providing dental services to Natives of Alaska living in remote areas.

Healthcare reform can not be about greed. A good number of Americans can’t afford to pay for dental work. Most aren’t on Medicaid and they have no dental insurance. The American Dental Association needs to reduce your prices, guarantee your work, and be more competitive.
