I spent my 30th birthday in the middle of the Saudi desert, getting ready to move into Iraq.

I was relatively happy when I turned 40, having just met my soon-to-be-wife.

A week after my 49th birthday, she announced that she wanted a divorce.

    Sorry to hear that.

I had a divorce at twenty eight that ripped me apart. It had a lot to do with me first leaving my long time home of DC/NOVA and later moving over to Israel.

Going to Israel for a job was very therapeutic. I came back in the best mental and physical health of my post adolescence (that being my life up to my divorce). I was only there for three years, but it made me who I am today.

I turned fifty this Spring, The wife and kids got me an FAL on my B-Day. I hope that isn’t an omen.

California Assembly Approves Long Gun Registration Bill

Sacramento, CA --(Ammoland.com)- After a lengthy debate which featured passionate opposition from Assembly Members Bill Berryhill and Jim Nielsen and quotes from the California Outdoor Heritage Alliance’s opposition letter, AB 1810 passed off of the Assembly Floor this afternoon by a vote of 43-28. The measure now moves to the Senate.

Under the provisions of AB 1810 (Feuer), those who purchase or transfer a shotgun or rifle will be required to register that firearm by submitting their name, address, place of birth, phone number and occupation to the California Department of Justice.

She asked what I wanted her to get me for my birthday. I told her a Springfield 1911 Loaded. She said she did not want to get me another gun. I told her I could have asked for an Ed Brown. She said, huh? :-)

Good thing she did not ask what I might get myself for my birthday.

My husband has given up looking for work which I think is bad for him. We’ve got savings though, and we are used to living with ancient cars, IKEA furniture, and not much spent on entertainment. We have been investing in gold stuff inside our RRSPs. That’s the Canadian equivalent of your 401k and IRAs. We take the money out and pay the taxes on it. I truly believe that, in tough financial times, the governments will not necessary grant you access to your own money. Certainly happened in Argentina which was not a third world country.

The Dems have actually floated the possibility of the government taking over our 401ks and giving people some sort of “guaranteed” annuitiy instead.

I don’t think even the Obamabots are dumb enough to fall for that…

Wow, you’re right! I never thought of that, but we DID used to be encouraged to use plastic. I don’t get it, though, because plastic bags are recyclable, so why the ban?

I don’t know, I carry a couple of recyclable bags with me, but sometimes I want plastic bags (I reuse them as trash bags for my small trashcans). I can’t even believe this is going to be a law down there…

Because hippy dippy idiots are too lazy to actually recycle them. Look at the amount of refuse left on the ground after and ‘Earth Day’ gathering. They are too lazy to walk 10 steps to put their trash in a trash barrel, but they ‘care’ about mother Earth.

My how the worm has turned!

Fidel Castro claims Obama lives in fantasy world

HAVANA — Fidel Castro speculated Wednesday that a nuclear strike on Iran might help President Barack Obama win a second term in the White House and also suggested the United States could attack North Korea.

The former leader of Cuba, who has not been seen in public for nearly four years, also portrayed the U.S. president as a victim of fantasies planted in his mind by sinister advisers.

The column published by Cuban state media floated the idea that a nuclear attack on Iran — perhaps even without U.S. authorization — might help Obama win re-election in 2012.

“Could Obama enjoy the emotions of a second presidential election without having the Pentagon or the State of Israel, whose conduct does not in the least obey the decisions of the United States, use nuclear weapons against Iran?” he asked. “How would life on our planet be after that?”

Castro often has praised Obama in recent years, but painted him as a pawn of the global capitalist machine on Wednesday.

“President Obama can give hundreds of speeches, trying to reconcile contradictions that are irreconcilable … dreaming of the magic of his well-articulated phrases,” he wrote.

But Castro said Obama “makes concessions to personalities and groups totally lacking in ethics and draws fantasy worlds that only fit in his head and that unscrupulous advisers, knowing his tendencies, plant in his mind.”

The crazy is strong with him.
