The classless Presidency

Great op-ed in the Washington Times- Classless Presidency from a classless, in way over his head and clueless inexperienced man-child…

Classless presidency

President Obama has degraded the office of the presidency – once again. Coming under increasing criticism for his inept handling of the BP oil spill, Mr. Obama is resorting to being vulgar in the hope of appearing tough to the American public.

“I was down there a month ago, before most of these talking heads were even paying attention to the Gulf,” the president said. “And I don’t sit around just talking to experts because this is a college seminar; we talk to these folks because they potentially have the best answers, so I know whose ass to kick.”

Really? Mr. Obama should be ashamed of himself. Presidents historically have used salty, even profane language in private discussions – Andrew Jackson, Harry Truman and Richard Nixon being the most notable. Yet in public statements, they understood the need to represent the dignity and decorum of the Oval Office. Every president has – until Mr. Obama.

The presidency is not just the highest office in the land; it embodies the collective will of America’s democracy. Mr. Obama occupies a sacred and noble position entrusted by the American people. His comments convey utter contempt for the office he occupies. This is street-gangster language more befitting a community organizer in the South Side of Chicago than the leader of the Free World. It is political posturing masquerading as decisive leadership.

For weeks, Mr. Obama has been under growing pressure from his leftist allies to unleash his inner demagogue regarding the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. They want him to show more empathy, passion and outrage. They want him to express more solidarity with the fishermen, small-business owners and wildlife in the region. Instead, the president has been aloof and disengaged – cold in the face of the worst environmental disaster in American history.

Like a leaking boat, even many of his most die-hard supporters are turning on him. Maureen Dowd, Chris Matthews, Rachel Maddow – these leftists are coming to realize, to their horror, that Mr. Obama is incompetent. Their political messiah is turning out to be an imposter. Rather than leading America to the liberal promised land, he is crashing upon the rocks of reality.

In the book of Revelations the anti-Christ is described as the Obamanation that makes desolate, ok, it really calls him the Abomination that makes desolate, but clearly somebody just couldn’t spell correctly because President Obamanation is indisputably making America a desolate place…

Makes sense (no -- I don’t think obama is the anti christ -- just on the payroll) that such an evil “religion” would have the anti christ as their messiah.

The antichrist is supposed to sit in the Temple claiming to be God.
The dome of the rock and some other mosque is there now, so that will be a tough one to fulfill. But for two thousand years there was no Israel and that became fulfilled.
Unless you allegorize it or say that symbolically that the mohammedan control of the Temple Mount -claiming to be the (religion of) the true God is.

Seriously -- just in terms of the livelihoods this is going to destroy in numerous states -- states that border and depend on the sea -- wouldn’t you throw everything you had at this thing? Where are the thousands of barges we own that were built for scooping this stuff up? Why isn’t he using those things in Maine to block it from coming ashore? Why hasn’t he suspended the Jones (?) I worked for a military news paper at that time. I believe they “publically” said they didn’t need our help, but the truth of the matter was that the two subs we had that could have helped were nowhere near that distressed sub. Those poor boys would have died anyway and the Russians saved both our faces by publically saying no thank you. It was politics, but on the practical side nothing could have been done.

Ahem -- Never let a emergency/disaster go to waste. Now what do you suppose they will do with this disaster? Obama has already halted all oil drilling -- has refused to approve any new contracts. They plan on shoving crap&tax through to make sure we freeze in the winter and bake in the summer. Oh and if you plan on reading a night -- buy some candles. My point in bring that up was, the Russian sub had Russian nuclear weapons on it. That was for the Russians a genuine national security concern when it came to allowing America to help rescue their sailors.

There are no genuine national security concerns that I am aware of in this gulf oil spill. For this administration to act as if there were lends credence to the notion that this administration is not being honest or forthcoming and has some hidden agenda that is being advanced by allowing this spill to get so out of hand.

It is getting hard, isn’t it? If Obama is as incompetant as he now appears, how did he manage to keep his Presidential campaign on track for two years? Forget McCain. He might as well have campaigned for Obama himself, but how did this bumbling fool beat Hillary? She sure as shit didn’t give it away. How she must burn to be working for this clown. No doubt she wouldn’t have been this bad, at least this bad in this way. Now she’s tainted with his incompetance. She is part of the mess that has to be cleaned up.

That’s actually not hard to understand at all.

It’s not like he was actually running his campaign. He managed to stay on message and read his scripted lines well during the campaign. That’s all it took. The media did the rest.

Exactly. Where is the HaitiAid or FarmAid or any of that stuff to help the enviroment? I know they despise red state southerners.

Lots of Asian descent too is my guess. In other words, people who work and don’t go begging to Uncle Sugar for handouts. Despicable.

Well, I don’t know about that -- Jindal aside. I do know when I go down there it’s still real black and white down there. Mostly white.

So far, this one seems like a keeper.

She recently did the same thing Nevergiveup did, and joined the Reserves in order to give something back. They gave her a direct commission as a captain.

That part actually concerned me some, because of the fraternization rules. I had to look up the regulation in question. Fortunately, there’s a loophole for Reservists who aren’t in the same chain of command.

I noticed the same thing when Chile got hit with their earthquake. Too many white people = no aid!

Barry and the Dems in Congress haven’t been able to get the slush fund particulars nailed down yet.

Oooohh! You know, you’re right. I remember the Asians during Katrina were sitting very quietly (they were trapped and really couldn’t go anywhere, other wise I think they would have) and weren’t complaining about anything. I thought most of the Asians ended up on the west coast. I saw that one first hand. Bit of problems at first and then great resturants and totally assimilated!

They will. I’ll never forget when we went down for my grandfathers funeral that none of my relatives (and they are considerable in number!!!) could offer us a bed or bit of floor for our stay because they had all taken in their neighbors whose homes had been damaged (roofs blown off mostly -- blue tarps everywhere!) by Katrina.

I’d find it a unmitigated bore to even feign interest in a highlights film.

Yes, I am unrepentantly proud and delighted in saying I am not an athletic supporter.
