I didn’t catch Beck playing that clip. Was Beck claiming that the wells were so far offshore because the progressives didn’t want to see them? And the progressives claimed that’s a nutty proposition? Or were the progressives admitting that’s why they were drilled so far out but it’s silly to use that as a negative thing?

  45. waldensianspirit
    45 | June 13, 2010 9:43 pm

    @ Runner:
Take Beck out of the equation. The progressives talk about right wing callers saying the drilling at 5000+ is because of the progressives not wanting to see oil rigs. The progressives say this is so nuts they don’t respond and just turn off the right wing caller’s line.

I didn’t hear enough to get why

  46. waldensianspirit

There’s a conservative alternative to PayPal called GPal…it started out a GunPal because PayPal was refusing an transactions for firearms related items. So a group of people in the Silicon Valley who were affiliated with the California Gun Rights advocacy website CalGuns.net founded GPal.

I had always assumed the drilling was forced so far offshore to keep the shores safe and basically make it harder for oil companies to drill. It didn’t occur to me that it’s part of the NIMBY crowd because I guess I thought that part of the offshore windmill complaints.

My relatives have such a thick accent it’s sometimes hard for me to understand them!

The $50B is to bail out munis and school systems that are on the brink of failure because of their union bloated contracts and pensions. Kolifornia and Illinois are the 2 that first come to mind. There should be a law that says union contracted systems and employees get NO federal bailout funds. People pay union dues in order for the unions to provide them with job security. All of those union members need to go sobbing and crying to the unions, not the taxpayers.

    It does not compute.

Yes it does. Just because I do not believe does not mean I am not sensitive to the feelings and traditions of others.

When the American national anthem plays I stand. I however do not put my hand on my heart. Same thing here. I am not part of but I respect.

It looks worse than it is. That said however it still hurts when someone rucks your body out of the way in a ruck or rolling maul. I have the scars to prove it.

It’s strange the difference between soccer and rugby. In soccer the violence happens off the pitch and after the game in the streets.

In rugby the violence is all on the field and afterwards everyone from both teams go to the pub to have a beer and sing :)

I am The Rat on Blog Talk Radio.

I have a different nic and a different persona on every place I go.

I am currently [Redacted by Admin] over at the swamp.
