Church boycotts Arizona meetings
Presbyterians will refuse to hold national meetings in Arizona and any states that adopt strict immigration laws such as Arizona’s new Senate Bill 1070.
The vote was 420-205 in the General Assembly of the Louisville-based Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), meeting this week in Minneapolis.
The church voted to “refrain from holding national meetings at hotels in those states where travel by immigrant Presbyterians or Presbyterians of color or Hispanic ancestry might subject them to harassment due to legislation similar to Arizona Law SB 1070/HB2162.”
“Our work will always be to stand with those who are the most marginalized,” said Rick Ufford-Chase of New York, a former moderator of the denomination who for years worked with immigrants in Tucson, Ariz.
The Rev. Trina Zelle of Arizona agreed, urging delegates to reject an alternate proposal to study the issue further. “For many Presbyterians, the immigration crisis is not an option to be studied but a daily reality to be lived and endured,” she said.

A system that tries to achieve perfection denies the fact that this is a fallen world and that corruption is inevitable; the upshot is another corrupt system with a different group of people in power.
Christian charity is based entirely on VOLUNTARY giving. Nothing in the Bible justifies the government taking from the rich and giving to the poor.
Empowering the government to level the socioeconomic status of everyone means that the government will take from people who have resources and use it, not to help the poor, but to enrich itself and entrench itself in power. This will end up reducing everyone to misery.
From what I have learned from history, even the apparatchiki don’t end up being happy.

Can’t say bacterial, as it could be misinterpreted as “Bactrian,” as in a type of camel, and then you’re making fun of poor middle eastern people who depend on them for milk and transport.
“Skin” is out, too, as it has a color, and nobody is allowed to talk about it. “Infection” is probably okay to use except it might reference the early and evil government experiments involving syphilis.
Maybe everyone should just shut up for a couple of years. Pfffft! Right.

I am doing OK. Kind of tired, and kind of bored. What I should do is go down for a nap, and get up in about 4 hours and do some samples. There’s no way that I can remain awake for 4 hours.

I can’t comment because youtube hates me, refuses to let me view their videos.

Hey jimmah and your skank iceweasel, fyi, cj used to be right wing.
Do you forget his header with the football, hippie and terrorist?
We didn’t change, cj did, because he thought the political winds were going to stay left.
Obama is a joke now and so is your loser leader.

I can tell you what I mean. My theory is that people are pack animals. If you run too far in front of the pack, then people feel abandoned, and, possibly don’t like to feel like they aren’t winners.
I need other people, however, I’m mostly in competition with myself. Not guy brain wiring either. Even people who care for you are not all that likely to applaud your success due to their own ego involvement. I don’t know what Doriangray meant though.

Hmmm. We might be safe with that… unless the Dutch take it as insulting British rhyming slang for “Flemish.” “Flemish” translates into “Vlaams,” and they’re all neonazisfacists according to Chuck even though he has no idea what it means.

Thanks.
I know that, of course.

Did you like music vid for you?
So, from Bunk’s evocation of the Bactrian camel, which is not Middle Eastern by the way , o Bunky one, but Central Asian, I had to look up the history of Bactria, an ancient region once colonized by Greeks and Persians that made up part of present day Afghanistan, and hence discovered the story of the Bactrian Hoard, an ancient treasure trove of gold Bactrian artifacts that the final Afghan Communist regime of Najibulah hid from the Taliban by means of vaults that needed seven keys to open…fascinating story.

My comment was a friendly snark/sarc at dorian, nothing more. He knows.

Well I know that some people have to feel above others or that they are better or that they have more things or money etc..
I honestly don’t understand that concept..if someone has less than me my urge is to give to them. I live by the creed that am not better than anyone. It doesn’t make me feel better if I have more…not at all. If someone likes the shirt on my back I will give it to them.

Me, we are starting into the home-stretch of moving into our new house. At this point I don’t know which is worse, the move or keeping my wife on an even keel. We have some issues with the grade of the house, which is documented by our own independent inspector and noted on our initial walk-through, the builder will be working on to resolve, that she is fixating on.
I don’t drink, but am seriously considering taking it up at least temporarily. /
