Want a REAL LIFE Hello Kitty rifle? Too bad, it’s not for sale.

Hello Kitty AR-15: evil black rifle meets cute and cuddly

NOTE: “Hello Kitty” is a trademark of Sanrio, Inc. This firearm was built as a parody of the California Assault Weapon ban and this blog posting is for educational purposes and to draw attention to “Assault Weapon” gun laws and to encourage debate on such. This gun is not for sale, nor is any replica or copy of it available for sale on this site.

So called “Assault Weapons Bans” such as the now expired 1994 Clinton ban and the one still in place in states such as California seek to ban rifles that our misguided legislators feel have no purpose in civilian hands. They identify “evil features” they can use to generically classify these “military style” weapons in sweeping terms. Of course these features, such as plastic pistol grips, barrel shrouds, and bayonet lugs have absolutely nothing to do with the firearms potential lethality in the real world and are merely cosmetic features. After all, it really doesn’t matter what color the firearm is if it fires the same ammunition right? Well, in the “spirit” of the California Assault Weapon Ban I decided to do my best to alleviate the fears of my fellow citizens and gun-banning legislators when I put together a new AR-15 for my wife. Below is the result of my painstaking work to transform an Evil Black Rifle (EBR) into a Cute Pink RIfle (CPR). Introducing the Hello Kitty AR-15!

Judge Joseph Charles, in denying the restraining order to the woman after her divorce, ruled that her ex-husband felt he had behaved according to his Muslim beliefs — and that he did not have “criminal desire to or intent to sexually assault” his wife.

Some dumb blonde on Fox just said that the Wikileaks treason didn’t matter. Nothing was leaked that we didn’t already know. When it was pointed out that it might get some Afghanis killed she shrugged it off saying that we have killed a lot of Afghanis. At one point she said “Don’t we want Afghanis killed?” The fact that the Afghans killed due to the leaks are those who risked their lives to help us and without such help we might as well give up was totally lost on her and apparently the rest of the panel. I have been holding out hope that we could still win this but that hope is now dead. We will not put in the troops needed and we will not support our friends. We have no diplomatic team in place like we did in Iraq, those two idiots t Holbrooke and Eikenberry are still there. We still have the damn timeline in place.

It seems like Obama doesn’t care that confidential information damaging to the war effort was leaked. Has he said anything about it? Pressured Australia to arrest him? He must be torn, this war is now his to loose but he can’t bring himself to condemn an action that he himself would have taken if Bush was still Commander in Chief. You have to be twenty kinds of stupid to be an American ally nowadays, especially against the Taliban.

Furry, I think you’d be better off putting your money in lottery tickets. First, modern cars produce very little CO in the combustion process anymore. CO = wasted energy, so there is a real incentive to minimize it. Second, wharever CO does escape the combustion chamber will be burned in the catalytic converter. The end result is that practically no CO exits the tailpipe anymore.

So, a trickle of CO here becomes a trickle of propane here, and a trickle of CO there becomes a trickle of propane there. Simply gathering all those trickles together to get a useful amount of fuel is a huge materials-handling problem, and you have to expend energy to do it.

Here’s an analogy for you: suppose you were to build an electrical generator that burned cigarette packs and candy wrappers picked up off the street. Woo-Hoo! Free fuel! Well the fuel may be free, but getting it from the source (scattered along 1000′s of miles of roadsides) to the firebox means expending a lot of energy to reverse the entropy of the scattered fuel source.

Damn skippy. There is a reason that the Jews sometimes backed the Muslims as they fought their way up Spain–Christian Spain was intolerant under the Visigoths, and it was intolerant under the Reyes Catolicos of the Reconquista.

People try as hard as they can to ‘undo’ the history of tolerance and interfaith cooperation in al-Andalus, but the truth is, by a medieval standard, it was a remarkable society, and an inspiring one.

If your ‘one size fits all’ version of Islam is so threatened by the knowledge that there have been benevolent and flowering Muslim societies, you need a better grip on something. History, human nature, reality.

Wow, the Arabic genocide of Spaniards is justified becasue the Spanish had mistreated Jews. She really is a bigot and supports genocide of and occupation. She clearly is a racist and a bigot.

    This says it all…

The witness of those who lived through the horrors of the Berber conquest, of the Andalusian fitnah in the early eleventh century, of the Almoravid invasion- to mention only a few disruptive episodes- must give it [i.e., the roseate view of Muslim Spain] the lie. The simple and verifiable historical truth is that Moorish Spain was more often a land of turmoil than it was of tranquility…Tolerance? Ask the Jews of Granada who were massacred in 1066, or the Christians who were deported by the Almoravids to Morocco in 1126 (like the Moriscos five centuries later)…In the second half of the twentieth century a new agent of obfuscation makes its appearance: the guilt of the liberal conscience, which sees the evils of colonialism- assumed rather than demonstrated-foreshadowed in the Christian conquest of al-Andalus and the persecution of the Moriscos (but not, oddly, in the Moorish conquest and colonization). Stir the mix well together and issue it free to credulous academics and media persons throughout the western world. Then pour it generously over the truth…in the cultural conditions that prevail in the west today the past has to be marketed, and to be successfully marketed it has to be attractively packaged. Medieval Spain in a state of nature lacks wide appeal. Self-indulgent fantasies of glamour…do wonders for sharpening up its image. But Moorish Spain was not a tolerant and enlightened society even in its most cultivated epoch.
