Rodan is exactly right. The big investment money is holding it’s breath waiting to see what congress is going to do, and there are a lot of mixed messages.

I’ve met some very wealthy people. They don’t operate the same way the rest of us do. If they want to invest in a pricey project, they dictate terms to the lenders, not the other way around.

Regarding the “Spanish racism warning,” it is my understanding that the Spaniards have—quite understandably—been doing some profiling on the basis of the influx of illegals from Africa which they have been dealing with. In other words, the so-called “racism” consists of actually describing and attempting to address the problem they are facing.

  14. 14 | August 8, 2010 8:31 pm

They’re not big money multimillionaires; ten or fifteen million these days is chump change. Bloomberg probably carries that much in his swim trunks.

One of the big stock-market operators in the ’20s, before the crash, used to say, “What’s the use of ten million dollars if you can’t have big money?”—and that was back when a million bucks was big money, really big money, to most people.

The Obamas have several million, doubtless, but so do many moderately successful doctors and lawyers these days. They are poor relations compared to a lot of the people they hobnob with, which only encourages their gross wallowing in the public trough.

True, but irrelevant. I was referring to one of the solid financiers of the period—whose name, alas, is slipping my memory; Jesse something—who was a multimillionaire many times over during that era, though he finally lost it all and committed suicide.

Well, in the opening wedding scenes in the novel The Godfather, the donations in kind—food, drink, etc.—from grateful “friends” who wish to “show their respect” are described in detail.

Not after the stimulus money got re-routed. So much went out that they can’t track all of it, but I bet Obama socked away a billion or so somewhere where he can get to it. There’s a difference between campaign debts and personal debt, just as there is with any business (which is essentially what a campaign is).

Bill and Hillary Clinton still have plenty of money.

Whatever happened to the blogtalk radio chat, it is over. I just logged in to another shows chat with no problems. Just one of life’s little mysteries.

Wow, there are so many different topics on some of the other radio shows at blogtalk radio. Some are hilarious. Pagan talk, bigfoot radio, paranormal research, alpha afro americans and some anarchist show. We are not even remotely edgy in the BTR universe. LOL

    Edgy, schmedgy.

Some of that crap sounds like it would appeal to the new crowd over in Chuckistan.

Although I must admit the “bigfoot radio” sounds pretty amusing.

Have there been any sightings in Marbella?
