I think he was not at home, but I couldn’t tell. It was kind of noisy in the background.

When are you going to call in?

You know, I think about it, but then I chicken out. I feel like since I am not as knowledgable as the rest of you on politics and history, that I don’t know if I have much to say. Like I tell Savage, I learn something new every day, mainly on this blog.

Well, it will probably never happen.

He’s severely allergic to my cats and his mom is still very much alive, so if those things don’t change and he’s not willing to get allergy shots so he can be around cats (I’m not willing to give up my “kids with fur”).

Besides, he’s been unemployed since end of February -- money’s tight…

geez, this f’ing punk will not shut up and go away

Levi Johnston takes back his apology to Palin

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — Levi Johnston, the father of Sarah Palin’s grandson, says he wishes he hadn’t apologized for telling lies about the former Alaska governor because he’s “never lied about anything.”

Johnston said in an interview on CBS’ “The Early Show” to air Friday that he wishes that he hadn’t issued the apology to Palin.

“I don’t really regret anything,” Johnston said, who has appeared nude on the cover of Playgirl. “But the only thing I wish I wouldn’t have done is put out that apology ’cause it kind of makes me sound like a liar. And I’ve never lied about anything. So that’s probably the only thing. The rest of the stuff I can live with.”

CBS said the interview was taped Thursday in Los Angeles.

    *spit*

I used to go camping a lot, and one of the things we did at night was spot satellites. It was a drinking game. If I spotted one the others had to drink and vice versa. You’d be amazed how many could be spotted in the deep desert or high on a mountain.

I can’t remember the year, mid 90′s, we went to bike in the East Mojave Scenic Area during a celestial event. Venus was the closest it had been in hundreds of years and nine of the planets were in alignment. At dusk Venus shone so brightly it appeared as a small sun and when it set the sky was ablaze with the stars and planets. For some odd reason the atmosphere appeared calmer that I had ever seen it. No twinkling -- the stars just hung there. We could clearly see the red of mars unaided as well as the red dwarf in Orion.

I don’t know if you’re aware of this, but if you wear rose colored glasses and look up all that will be visible are planets. I think it has something to do with the Red Shift and the planets being closer make only them visible.

From this we knew the line of the alignment and the next day we were able to see in broad daylight three planets in the sky.

It was an amazing night and day. The next day the weather conditions were different and the once in my lifetime phenomena was over.

I am “wrapping up” doing all the fun stuff this week. Semester has begun and it is about to be an ass-kicker. The grand finale will be the trip to MotoGP race in Indy, then my call-in to the radio show--this Sunday. I will still drop by to post a comment or two, but not as much.

Iran to Russia: Let’s establish a nuclear consortium

Iran has asked Russia to join forces in establishing a nuclear consortium to supply fuel for the newly operational Bushehr plant, as well as other plants due to begin functioning in the future.

According to reports on Thursday, Iranian Vice President and nuclear chief Ali Akbar Salehi told state news agency IRNA that the proposal to Russia was made “for the creation of a consortium, licensed by that country, to do part of the work in Russia and part of it in Iran.”

    yeah, that’s a plan

I am not a wimp but the Civil War thing is no light consideration. I always thought about what brass ones it takes to take up arms against your own country. These days however there seems to be no honor nor battlefield code. And of course everyone understands that these things (Geneva Convention) seem to always get ignored in an unCivil War because of the familiarity that the combatants have with each other and the historical political venom that builds up long before the first battle has commenced.

But there is something in these times that makes me think that it will be much more vicious and savage than our First Civil War. And I am not talking battlefield technology although that is another consideration.

Besides, I will just have to agree to disagree with the “low-fat” fanatics… Because I have successfully conducted an experiment that lasted a year… I completely cut out bread, sugar and all artificial BS, including fake oils… I’ve been eating tons of veggies and fruit, but even more fatty meat, butter, olive and coconut oil, as well as drinking heavy cream… At 5’1″ I am at 106lbs, I sport a 6-pack, people at my gym envy my muscle tone (and I am only there twice a week!)and I have so much physical and mental energy it is scary. A week ago I cut out alcohol (just for the school season), and the brain energy is even more awesome now. So, excuse me when I scoff at the misery called “low-fat dieting”.

Tea Party Spells KKK, Rights Leader Says

A civil rights activist and former congressman equated the Tea Party with the Ku Klux Klan today as he blasted a conservative rally planned in Washington, D.C., this weekend.

The Rev. Walter Fauntroy,(eh,who is this guy?) the non-voting delegate who represented the District of Columbia from 1971 to 1991, called on African-Americans to organize a “new coalition of conscience” to rebut the rally scheduled for Saturday at the Lincoln Memorial featuring Fox News pundit Glenn Beck and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

“We are going to take on the barbarism of war, the decadence of racism, and the scourge of poverty, that the Ku Klux — I meant to say the Tea Party,” Fauntroy told a news conference today at the National Press Club. “You all forgive me, but I — you have to use them interchangeably.”

wholey’s is the main distributor of fish in this area, they are huge. much of their stock is flown in, so from what they tell me, they can buy on the west coast and have it in store within 8-10 hours of the purchase at the wholesalers. they do such a huge trade tot he retail and restaurants that the shipping cost is small per pound in the end. for instance, they will buy 500 lbs of mahi and fly it into pgh and the stuff is gone in a day or 2.
