Wavy Gravy

by Bunk X ( 201 Comments › )
Filed under Art, Humor, Open thread at August 26th, 2010 - 10:40 pm

George Carlin, and later Cheech y Chong, were arguably the first hippie comedians, although an argument could be made that all hippies were comedians. At least these guys were intentionally funny.

But Wavy Gravy owns the title of being the First Hippie Clown. He even played Woodstock, and he’s still alive. (Proof can be found on the Wavy Gravy Homepage.)

After that blast from the past, let’s all take a big hit off an Overnight Open Thread.

One day I met a lovely young family. They are the epitome of the American family. They have a young child. They live in a humble house. It is not a mansion, but with fresh ideas and some good old fashioned work, it will be their vision of a “home”. They are working to make a life. It really put things into perspective for me because I know people who are scamming the system to the max. I would much rather live like this young family, working hard…maybe going without a few things, than live a lie. I know a couple who have all their toys in their son’s name, because they keep filing bankruptcy. i would rather NOT have that boat and camper than have to live a lie.

I have been thinking about this the past couple of days and just wanted to share it with someone. Thanks for listening.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, I make no assumptions with this group.

I think they are reaping what they’ve sowed and quite happy with the results.

Stumped as well. Ok, one for you. There was an acoustical song from the 90′s that i recall coming from the brother of Sean Penn. Slow and really good song. But it may have come from the brother of another that was in the show biz.

I’ve looked and can’t find it.

A drunk kid stabs a muslim cabbie and of course everyone condemns it. No sane person condones that. Yet while speaking to a muslim girl, David Horowitz says:
I am a Jew. The head of Hizbollah has said that he hopes that we will gather in Israel so he doesn’t have to hunt us down globally. For or Against it?
    Muslim Girl: For it.

No. I’m scratching my brain. He was a Brit who covered Chuck Berry’s “Tulane.” The “Rounder” song was an odd lame filler track.
