Blogmocracy in Action!
Guest post by: Huckfunn!

While the O-Bomb regime slithers and dithers about the growing threat of drug cartel violence gathering on our Southern borders, Texas Governor Rick Perry has sent in the Texas Rangers for recon and special operations. The Rangers have been a cornerstone of Texas defense, law enforcement and myth since 1823 when they were first established as a unit by Stephen F. Austin.  Details of the Ranger mission are unclear, but there are people in the Department of Public Safety who feel that the Ranger presence is having an effect on the bad guys.

Reports on the missions, however, are kept under wraps to preserve “operational security,” said public safety director Steve McCraw. He also said the program doesn’t want to brag. “Have there been arrests made? Yes,” McCraw said. “Have there been drug seizures? Yes. Have there been vehicle seizures? Yes.” But asked for data on just those points, McCraw said, “That’s not how we measure them.”

Heh. Those points used to be measured in ears and scalps.

Asked whether taxpayers might feel unsettled about secret operations by a state law enforcement agency, McCraw replied: “The only ones who should feel unsettled are the (Mexican drug) cartels.”

Legend has it that those who threw down or fired on a Ranger, died with their boots on and there was no attempt to take them in to custody. To the best of my knowledge, that hasn’t changed in 170 years.

Read all about it here.

Good idea. Just do what you need to do and don’t give out any more info about it than you absolutely have to.

    Latest from the Aussie Elections:-

Coalition (conservatives with a rump of chardoney ‘country club socialists) 73
Labor (socialists with a rump of smoke filled room ‘anything for power’ aparachniks) 72
Ind (one certifiable nutter and three apparent conservatives who are being wooed with the baubles of power by Labor) 4
Green (certifiable hard core red pretending to be a ‘watermelon’ so as not to scare the kids) 1
    No Doubtfuls.

So the rules say that the Governor General HAS to offer the party with the most votes first refusal to form a government. This just more interesting and screwey by the day. The red bitch gillard are casting the baubles of power before the independents in a hope that they will sell their souls for a single term in power. Abbott stands firm on his principles as he knows that ultimately he is in a win-win situation where a future election will sweep the socialists away.

    More popcorn and beer folks

The second ring of this three ring circus is just starting up as the clowns (otherwise known as ‘journalists and political talking heads continue to lose their’s)

    :)

    Texas Rangers are awesome.

Too bad our current government wouldn’t probably support “Arizona Rangers”…

There used to be an Arizona Rangers unit modeled after the Texas one, but for some reason it was disbanded after the Arizona Territory became a state in 1912. I’m surprised Jan Brewer hasn’t reactivated it.

The Arizona Rangers were immortalized in the song “Big Iron” by native Arizona Country and Western star Marty Robbins…

Great tune! I’m not a big C&W fan, but I always liked Marty Robbins. When I lived in Nashville in the 60′s, his daughter was in elementary school with one of my younger brothers.

Memo to Jan Brewer: bring back the Arizona Rangers.

Speaking of Arizona, did you see this: Brewer condemns report to UN mentioning Arizona law

PHOENIX (AP) -- Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer demanded Friday that a reference to the state’s controversial immigration law be removed from a State Department report to the United Nations’ human rights commissioner.
The U.S. included its legal challenge to the law on a list of ways the federal government is protecting human rights.

In a letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Brewer says it is “downright offensive” that a state law would be included in the report, which was drafted as part of a UN review of human rights in all member nations every four years.

“The idea of our own American government submitting the duly enacted laws of a state of the United States to ‘review’ by the United Nations is internationalism run amok and unconstitutional,” Brewer wrote.

    @ huckfunn:

What went wrong with your hellish day?

You know, why is it that when something’s gonna go wrong, it will happen within the last half hour of your day?

OK, sometimes it’s right when I walk in the door and before I even sit down and turn on the computer…

Today was really busy -- week end, month end (for accounting purposes), crazy-busy all day long. And the end of the day, when I should be starting sending my end of day tracking reports out, I find out that our warehouse sent the totally WRONG PRODUCT out on a truck an hour earlier and that it’s an order that is going to North Carolina. Big customer. Supposed to be 5000 lbs of sockeye sides (200 boxes 25# each). Our warehouse manager decided to sent 200 cs of sockeye fillets in 7.5# boxes 1500 lbs)So I have to contact people who are back east (which meant I had to call their cell phones and bother them at home), get them to get a hold of the driver and have him TURN AROUND to come all the way back to our facility to get unloaded and then get the right stuff. So they got a hold of their driver and turned him around. Well, then come to find out that we don’t even have the product we are supposed to ship at our facility, it’s at a cold storage 40 minutes across town and it’s now 4:30pm on a Friday afternoon. Do you think they want to pull my order now? Of course not! They are slammed and behind, so even though the carrier had another truck SITTING RIGHT THERE at the cold storage, they wouldn’t pull the order. But on the other hand, the person who modified the order picked a different item and I think it’s wrong, so now nothing is getting changed until next week (Monday) and I’ve just left a 5000 lb hole in my carrier’s truck because now I have nothing to send him to Greensboro, NC with. And, too boot, I started making calls immediately to get it booked for the beginning of the week, but truthfully, I know and they know that getting anything to leave the west coast and go to the east coast in the beginning of the week is hard-pressed, unless it’s a truckload order. So now we are probably going to piss off one of our biggest customers. So of course, dealing with all this crap but me behind in my normal end-of-day stuff, which I then had to take care of. And we’re not supposed to be getting overtime, and I ended up working an hour of overtime. I couldn’t help it. Catastrophe hit a half hour before I was to go home. What could I do?

I had a tough time today too. Nobody said anything bad to me, but my co-workers and superiors all seemed very gruff. That always makes me wonder if I’ve done something wrong, though I can’t think of anything I actually did that would qualify.

I told my boss I’m gonna have to stay and do some overtime. I told her like 15 minutes of it, but it ended up being an hour. I gotta take care of it as much as I can before I go. But not too much you can do late on a Friday afternoon.

Way, way OT…but I need some technical assistance…..

A blogger is denying that he said something prior to the election, hint…that he actually considered voting for Obama. Of course he was one a Dem and now slams all things conservative since he’s now such a calm moderate soothing independent. How can I easily find the post he said it in? I’ve tried going through posts from back then but have no idea exactly which post it was in…any ideas?

Oh, and Go Rick Perry and those Texas Rangers!

    @ Aussie Infidel:

We have been dealing with this here in Canada for a few years now. The minority Conservative government has had pretty good staying power, thanks in no small part to the absolute ineptness of the last 2 Liberal leaders.

After the last Federal election, there was an attempt by the Liberals (centre-left, more left than centre, though) and the New Democrats (hard left, aka Dippers) to form a coalition with the Bloc Quebecois, a hard-left socialist party dedicated to breaking up the country by making the province of Quebec independent. There was massive public outcry about that, and the Governor General, bless her heart, nixed the idea outright, and the Conservative minority persisted in power. had the GG not made the right decision, I think there very likely would have been Libs and Dippers, rather than flower baskets, adorning some of the lamp standards in Ottawa. Really.

It seems like that Independent Quebec idea pops up every few years and gets some traction. I guess the rest of the provinces would be pretty well screwed if that ever happened. I even saw some speculation that if Quebec went its own way, some of the Western provinces might try to join the US.

Today I took it into Best Buy and they ran a fairly comprehensive scan which showed no trojans, viruses or spyware. I added a gig of ram. My free AVG scans every morning. I have Spyware Blaster and Spybot Search and Destroy which I update and run a couple of times a week. I even did the MSConfig thing and cleared out the start menu. I’ve gotten bits and pieces and I assume your avatar has personal meaning…I’m not on here often enough to get to know any of you very well but I certainly like much of what I have learned about many of you…..and some I remember a little from 1.0.

    Wow, now that’s a house!
In the article I found this amusing “The members were the United States, the United Kingdom, and the Soviet Union. France was later added with a vote, but had no duties.” Good ol France. Some things never change.

Then a huge thank you is in order for serving. Hugs too. Berlin Brigade…quite an honor!

And I am completely envious….ECON…..ugh. That ate my lunch. It takes a certain mind to grasp. One which I didn’t have.

And RN school…..what’s your desired area to work?

Fortunately, no one was killed but his shooting hand was damaged and required surgery so a sniper he is no more….at least not for the military. Wants to be on a police SWAT team. He’s on his way as he’s currently a police officer….

Actually, if Quebec went its own way, the rest of us would shout “good riddance”, and the balance of power would shift away West. Ontario would see a huge loss of influence, and the Maritimes might feel isolated.

And Quebec would lose its largest source of income, which is transfer payments from the West.

Needless to say, the Bloc Quebecois doesn’t advocate outright independence, but “sovereignty association” which is akin to having one’s cake and eating it too.

Quebec would separate with all kinds of money. Then they would spend it all and demand that Canada let it back in the fold because it’s so damn productive./ I lived in Quebec. Everybody is on the take in one way or another. While I worked, acquaintances went on unemployment as soon as they could quit their job and be eligible. Nepotism is a way of life there. Not everybody, of course. They are the only Province entitled to make their own immigration policy and their Provincial tax levels are grossly high, Of course, they ADORE Marxists.

The military is portrayed by the left as a source of shame. It’s likely the left will find out what the real world looks like after Emperor Obama sets his stuff in action. All he does is sign executive orders. He’s a lazy party animal with a neurotic need for attention.
