In the news from Europe, the Swedish Democrat party won seats in Parliament for the first time. This has resulted in a war of words and more as the party defends itself against charges of neo-Nazi affiliation, and attempts to marginalize the members and the candidates by the political establishment refusing to form a coalition government with them.
But are they a bunch of neo-Nazis? The answer is more involved than it appears. Doing a google search of “swedish democrat nazi” turns up a number of hits, most of them coming from lunatic left sites like this.
However, no mention of any such connections seem to exist in the modern day press accounts such as this.
Odd. Until you look a little deeper, and find that the current leadership is quite open about a purge that occurred in the past decade:

So there doesn’t seem to be any attempt to conceal the past affiliations, and nobody (save the left-wing lunatic mentioned above, who obviously didn’t get the memo) seems to dispute that the Nazis have been effectively and completely purged from the party.

I have friends in Finland, the husband of this Fin couple is ethnic Sweed.

Regarding Swedish Democrats, I don’t know if they do have among them racists or not, but they for sure have not committed racial violence. Those acts are committed pretty much by left and “immigrants.” As some examples we all know the left has been terrorizing Jews so that many have left Sweden, attempts to rig the votes to prevent SD to get votes and violence against suspected SD voter (news was up today). And this list by far incomplete – you can get much more up to date list from other sources. When the kerfuffle was going on about the Flemish politics, there was a lack of understanding of what it takes for good PR in the US. I tried a number of times to discuss it but always got a lot of unnecessary argument from the defenders.
It was near impossible to defend what most Americans had no clue about; Flemish politics. We needed good, reliable, speedy education on the matter but all energy tended to go toward trying to hammer back at their tormentors. Most of us would not defend because you never knew when unknowns would break your back. Then google searches were turning up the stuff snork is pointing out. There was fast attack stuff but shaky information for those of us going much slower at evaluation and looking for who we could trust and not write off the Flemish people as a whole. The tormentors should have been forced to choose and defend at least one group in Belgium. Then we could get back to using American style counter methods. But this didn’t happen.
Also there should have been more openess and clarification from the VB leaders themselves. Yet all we had is their idiotic trips to the US where they botched their PR big time on the record. They were indefensible. There were people in some of the VB videos that turned up I could analyze and know they wanted and needed better voices representing them. They needed to be empowered to find their own voices too. They were left high and dry without help to change their situation. For future rounds it will be important to improve PR and know who to associate with in the States.
Gotta get back to work soon so this is left unvarnished.
