Peruvian mayor dad’s skull stolen before election

LIMA, Peru -- Foes of a small-town mayor in Peru say they have dug up the skull of his late father and won’t give it back unless he drops out of next month’s election.

Police in San Cristobal say unknown thieves unearthed the remains of Juan Vizcarra Quispe, who died in 1978. His bones were found strewn about the cemetery, but his skull is missing.

    Bunk

    How the stew coming along?

It is done. Well nearly done. 108 hidden threads to account for and 50 “private” threads.

158 threads missing out of 37252 is not bad going.

However, the ones missing will provide the best laughs. Working on it.

Also I never realized what 10.8Gb looked like until I got one.

I saw quite a while back where Russian farmers were bringing suitcases of veggies into the cities by commercial airline and actually making a profit.

Montana woman fends off bear attack with zucchini

FRENCHTOWN, Mont. -- Police say a Montana woman used an unlikely weapon to fend off a charging bear -- a zucchini.

Missoula County Sheriff’s Lt. Rich Maricelli says a 200-pound black bear attacked the woman’s 12-year-old collie just after midnight Wednesday on the back porch of her home about 15 miles west of Missoula.

To date, the US has spent $400m. on the Palestinian army. The Obama administration has allocated an additional $100m. for the next year.

How much has also been allocated to Israel? Billions.

So what, Israel is a) a real nation, b) a US ally c) not a bunch of Muslim terrorists d) kills genuine Muslim terrorists practically daily. Shit we ought to give them a couple billion more…

Excellent article relating to a drum that I’ve been beating in my posts here for a while.

The Tea Parties comprise a distributed network — a non-hierarchical system of autonomous nodes with no central control point, and with all nodes possessing the same value and freedom to act independently. A distributed network can be compared to a beehive. All the bees know their particular task and complete it autonomously, without directions from a central authority. If a threat appears, the bees overwhelm it not by direct confrontation, but by swarming, driving it away with sheer force of numbers.

The Left is specifically designed to foil the Republican party, and as such specifically unequipped to deal with the Tea Party phenomenon.

In many ways, they spawned it. It simply does what it has to do without allowing itself to be directed, too tightly organized, or affiliated with groups that can be made into pariahs.

It is a thing of beauty IMO.

    Parting thought:

I feel that it’s time that the RNC puts out a broadly distributed, well-produced commercial explaining why the Republicans voted against the Small Business bill.

IMO this is just one of a myriad of issues with which they could do this, but I feel that the timing is right RIGHT NOW.

People understand the economy better than anyone else, and it would serve not only to educate the public-at-large about this specific issue but also to plant the seed in peoples’ minds to perhaps take a closer look at issues such as this and not simply trust the MSM to give them the truth.

Morning all. So I saw that think skinned fat bastard CJ banned Cato. So I had to look. It’s really unbelievable. I mean he really banned him because he would or could not contribute and it seems if you don’t “contribute” then you have to “behave” or your gone? What a freaken cult over there. And they are or at least a few-I think that Dark Falcon guy ( it is a guy isn’t it?)- are making fun of the tread we had about that “supposed” Syrian Tank? 120. 121 | September 24, 2010 8:01 am

    @ Nevergiveup:

It won’t be the same swamp to mock with Cato gone. He was a full third of the manque business there. Chuck’s desperate for money. Very desperate, because $10 a month isn’t a lot of money, not from and one individual poster. There was a time when I’d have gladly paid it, and considered myself to have been getting good value for my money. That was before the Change, and Chuck lost his mind to meth or whatever he injects to get foaming-at-the-mouth-crazy. Now, I wouldn’t blog there if he paid me the $10 a month. His obsession over trivial amounts of cash seems to indicate that he wasn’t bought off, or if he was it wasn’t a lot and was a one-time deal.

Hey, GM is pilling out of their downward spiral:

    GM Resumes Political Giving

    By JOSH MITCHELL
General Motors Co. has begun to once again contribute to political campaigns, lifting a self-imposed ban on political spending put in place during the auto maker’s U.S.-financed bankruptcy restructuring last year.

The Detroit company gave $90,500 to candidates running in the current election cycle, Federal Election Commission records show.

.The beneficiaries include Midwestern lawmakers, mostly Democrats, who have traditionally supported the industry’s legislative agenda on Capitol Hill, including Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D., Mich.), Sen. Sherrod Brown (D., Ohio) and Rep. John Dingell (D., Mich.).

The list also includes Virginia Rep. Eric Cantor, the House Republican Whip, who would likely assume a top leadership post if Republicans win control of the House in November.

Hey, they’ll never make the $134 a share stock price necessary to fully pay America back, but at least they can give to these welll-deserving candidates who have made such a contribution to the golden parachutes for so many of GM’s higher eschelons. It really sucks if you don’t have a few million to fall back on when your job comes apart. Ask the almost half-a-million people a week who lose their jobs without such necessities paid fo rwith tax-payers’ dollars…
