Life’s a bitch…but then again, so am I
The country sucks…at this time. The economy sucks. The “war on terror” has become a joke. No sheeple, being nice to people that want to kill you is not a noble and smart way to go through life.
I’m broke and miserable, as are most other people that we all know. So what are we gonna do about it? I give you MY presidential campaign platform:
First, we got to stop or limit immigration. Legal and illegal. Legal immigration is a fine cause, I have no problem with it, but until we can get our own sh*t together, we are of no help to anyone else. We need to straighten up our own house first. Illegal immigration on the other hand is more detrimental to us. We have countries refusing to take their criminals back once we catch them. Maybe I should say IF we catch them. We are held to a standard that ANYONE ANYWHERE in the WHOLE WORLD is due something from the United States. I will not apologize for being from the best and strongest nation in the world.
Second is national defense. This kind of mixes in with the immigration debate. We need to secure OUR nation first before securing or “bringing democracy” to any one else. Our responsibility as a nation is to our own first. If other countries choose to rule under Sharia law or communism, go for it. Just don’t bring it to our shores. And don’t expect us to deal with you. I realize I come across here as pretty cut and dry, but hey, I’m not an expert.
Third, I do not know much if anything about economics, but I do know how we can save a ton of cash! First, ship all criminals who are not citizens back to their home countries. I really don’t care if they will face torture at home, which is probably a bogus claim anyway. Why are we keeping foreigners in our prisons for YEARS at our own financial expense? Either toss them out of here when they are caught, or ship them home when their term is finished. Either way they gotta go. Too bad if their home countries cry about it. It is now their problem.
Also, cut foreign spending to hostile nations. I can no longer care for the starving men and women who cannot find it in themselves to rise up against their oppressors.We try and try, yet these people still follow their deranged despot leaders. If we are going to invade any country, it should be to remove their “governments” and install our own. Take the whole damn place over until they learn how to live in THIS century. The US does do that to some extent, but not where they should. Many here have already bitched about us backing the muslim nations in any conflict. Meanwhile, people are still starving in Darfur.
I may come across as stupid or naive, but I’m OK with that. These are just conclusions that I come to when I hear things on the news. If you don’t like it…….

To be true to freedom the office of President must be made less powerful by divideing the powers into at least three offices.

I do not do the Facebook or the Twitter thing. I’ve been tempted on several occassions, but I just feel like it’s too much of my personal information out there, and what if someone wants to “friend” me that I really don’t want to (then you offend someone), etc etc.
Almost all my family members, including cousins and their kids, are on it. Apparently it is the only way to find out and keep up with what my younger brother is doing. Oh well, I still go the old-fashioned way – a phone call or an e-mail…

I think personal responsibility can be drummed in without serving in the military too though. Some people just are not cut out for that. That is where we failed as a nation…the only place the young folk get discipline and a sense of purpose is the military. We need others skills enforced too.

I used to play guitar (acoustic) and song write.
Never felt I could get beyond a certain level with the guitar playing and I didn’t have a thick enough skin or enough money to pursue the song writing and get into “the music biz”.
Oh well. Song writing was one of the things I always wanted to do. Haven’t played my guitar or written any songs in quite some time… every once in a while I will pick up my guitar and see if I can still play…

BTW, different people see different things in movies, but the one of the main messages that I took away from “Amadeus” was that Salieri was just good enough to realize how mediocre that he was; anyone less than him wouldn’t have recognized his own mediocrity. You have to be good enough to see how bad you are sometimes. Johnson reminds me of someone not quite at Salieri’s level of mediocrity.

I don’t know why I’m fascinated by these shows. So long as I don’t end up on one of them (or anyone I know ends up on them), I’m ok with watching them. Interesting how some of these cases get solved.
