What phonies! Actors used for Obama townhall meeting with young people

Scroll down for the NCAA Football Open, Week 7

Did you watch the interview “A Conversation with President Obama” that Obungler did on Thursday, Oct. 14th that was shown live on MTV, BET, VH1, CMT, etc? Me neither.

I was going to, but I then remembered I had an appointment to get my nuts cut off with a rusty knife by a half-blind doctor from Guatemala who gives half off on Thursdays if you skip the anesthesia. Didn’t want to miss that deal, don’t ya know!

Turns out all the audience members who asked questions were actually actors who auditioned for their “roles” in the charade. They had to submit their questions at the audition so Obungler would know what they were going to ask and how to answer them, and they also had to state their political views, proving, yet again, that the dolt cannot do anything if it isn’t scripted or can’t be read off a TelePrompTer.

Actors Called to Play ‘Young People’ at Obama Town Hall

The set is beautiful, the lighting perfect. The President is ready for his close-up at the taping of the MTV, BET, CMT town hall to mobilize the ‘Youth Vote’ for the November election. Called a “Conversation with President Obama,” the town hall will include 250 young people. Leaving nothing to chance, the ‘Youth’ asking questions will be actors.

On behalf of the President, casting website Backstage.com put out a casting call for “males and females 18+” to fill out a questionnaire to include “your name, phone number, hometown, school attending, your job and what issues, if any, you are interested in, or passionate about. Also provide a recent photo and short description of your political views.” This job will be strictly for exposure; there will be no pay. Wonder if SAG condones this union-friendly President getting actors to work for free.

The casting call for the “Conversation with President Obama” was sandwiched between “Bachelors for Dating Show” and “Landau Music, Cruise Ship Musicians”.

I guess this close to an election Obama could ill afford another Velma Hart moment.

On September 23, in a town hall format that was not as controlled, Obama called on a middle-age black woman, Velma Hart, who thanked him for being there, affirmed that she had voted for him—and then said she was “exhausted” defending him; that she voted for a man “who said he was going to change things in a meaningful way for the middle class … and I’m waiting, sir, I’m waiting.” After describing the fear of a new “hot dogs and beans” era of her life, she asked the President, “Is this my new reality”?

You can read the rest here if you’re bored.

Not surprising at all. Politicians have done similar things for years. Maybe not to this extent, and maybe not at what’s supposed to be an open ‘Town Hall’ event, but it’s been done.

(The Hill) – Gov. Charlie Crist (I) hit Republican Marco Rubio’s stance on immigration during a contentious debate exchange Friday in the state’s three-way race for Senate.

Crist referenced an article in the Hispanic newspaper La Gaceta, which criticized Rubio for not backing immigration reform.

“These are their words, not mine speaker, that you have turned your back on your Hispanic family, and they think that is inexcusable,” said Crist.

Rubio hit back quickly, calling Crist’s remarks “offensive” and recalling his own Cuban heritage.

“We’re all used to hard-knock politics, but that’s quite frankly, governor, offensive and outrageous, for you to talk about me to turn my back on my Hispanic family,” Rubio said.

speaking of delusional idiots, some one posted some of the comments about an article about lgf on the overnight thread. cj is outed for lying over and over again. bizarre lies that are easily disproven. i wonder if anyone but myself remember when he hosted and posted porn pics? triggergirlie and i were among the oldest readers of lgf and likely the only ones who might remember such in the archives of yesteryears.

Two years ago today the Charlie Sierra in Chief said’

“If you’ve got health insurance through your employer, you can keep your health insurance, keep your choice of doctor, keep your plan… The only thing we’re going to try to do is lower costs so that those cost savings are passed onto you. And we estimate we can cut the average family’s premium by about $2,500 per year.”
~ Barack Obama, during his presidential debate against John McCain, October 15 2008.

And so how’s that been working out?

Manufacturing conglomerate 3M Co. – with major operations in Connecticut – said it will no longer offer its health-insurance plans to retirees beginning in 2013, a move being spurred by federal health care reform, The Wall Street Journal reports.

McDonalds Corp. has warned federal regulators that it could drop its health insurance plan for nearly 30,000 hourly restaurant workers unless regulators waive a new requirement of the U.S. health overhaul.

Regence BlueShield, one of the state’s largest health insurers, will no longer offer child-only individual plans, a move that state insurance officials fear may trigger other insurers to drop similar policies. The Regence decision comes as regulations contained in the new federal health-care overhaul prohibit insurers from refusing coverage to children with pre-existing medical conditions…Another large insurer, Premera Blue Cross, with about 1,400 child-only policies in the state, said in a statement it would continue selling such policies “for now” and wanted to continue to do so.

Humana CEO: More companies could drop insurance – Corporations will be doing the math to see whether it will be more cost-effective to continue offering coverage or to cancel it, absorb a penalty and letting employees go the state insurance exchanges that will go into effect in 2014 as part of health care reform.

The state has given Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield the go ahead to raise premiums by as much as 47 percent for some members, and says health care reform is the reason why.

    As of This week:

“…as a consequence of us getting 30 million additional people health care, at the margins that’s going to increase our costs, we knew that. We didn’t think that we were going to cover 30 million people for free…”
~ Barack Obama, at his Presidential Press Conference, Sept 10, 2010.

    From you link:

“And of course, the approach [to build] a multicultural [society] and to live side-by-side and to enjoy each other… has failed, utterly failed.”

I would agree with her. Forgive my hypocrisy. Although native Germans are not keeping up with replacement rates. Visit a baby section in any clothing store hear and you will find mainly foreigners and muslims being the biggest of that demographic.

This is likely all BS, but it sure is interesting.
    http://www.opinion-maker.org/2010/10/white-house-in-crisis/
    Example:

Washington has not witnessed so much top level White House intrigue since October 20, 1973, when a Saturday night saw President Nixon fire the Watergate independent counsel, the U.S. attorney general, and the deputy attorney general in the “Saturday Night Massacre.” Just ten days earlier, Vice President Spiro Agnew resigned after being charged with accepting bribes while governor of Maryland.

In the case of President Obama, the senior firings are not happening during a single nght but the recent involuntary sudden departures of the White House chief of staff and national security adviser, along with what WMR can confirm from multiple sources is a president who is suffering from Nixonian levels of paranoia, depression, and schizophrenia, has some top-level administration officials considering the first-ever invocation of Section 4 of the 25th Amendment — the involuntary removal of the president from office. The White House meltdown has the Washington political circuit buzzing under the surface.

Unlike Watergate and the Iran-contra scandal, however, the corporate media is refusing to report on the breakdown of the Obama administration and the internecine political warfare within the Executive Office of the President.

    read it all

    @ pat:

I read all the articles on the site. I didn’t post them because of the source. I think you were right to do so. I find nothing far fetched in any of the contentions about the Obama administration. People HAVE to notice the mass abandonment of the ‘Titanic’ White House staff. Those articles list them. They also show MOOCHelle taking on all kinds of power she was not elected for. She campaigns for Obama next to the voting booth, spends millions on trips, redecorations, her personal staff and jetting her friends around. It’s well known they party all the time at the White House, inviting non-stop celebrities and having tents put up for a party on the lawn. How much time does golfer/vacationer Obama really have to govern? He’s a disaster in every way. He’s toxic to his own party. He is a psychiatric case in the Oval Office. Abandoned by father and mother, he is fundamentally broken with no real leadership skills. That source has got to be just skimming the surface with those observations. Nervous breakdown? Entirely possible IMHO.
