Party affiliation should not be an ethnicity

by Speranza ( 181 Comments › )
Filed under Democratic Party, Politics, Republican Party at November 1st, 2010 - 2:00 pm

In this article, the author points out the sad phenomena of people voting Democratic because they feel as if they were born into the Democratic Party. The fact that parties evolve over decades means that your loyalty should be to principles.  Recently the Republican Party has become the Democratic Party (circa 1941 -64), and the Democratic party has become the Socialist party. Far too many people are ethnic Democrats (people who came of age during when my  parents did and for whom FDR was their patron saint) and could not conceive of voting Republican even if Abraham Lincoln were to return. There were several blue dog democrats who did not want to vote for Obamacare but they felt the pressure of the Pelosi-Reid-Obama troika and caved. Therefore having a Republican is always preferable to having a Democrat even if they are similar on a lot of issues because a GOPer is immune to  the Unholy Trinity. That is why in the Senate races I always say (and still do) – Nominate the most electable Republican!

by Selwyn Duke

Many years ago, a very nice lady with whom I was having a political discussion announced to me, “I’m a Democrat.” My immediate response was, “By birth or by choice?”

It’s a relevant question for many Americans, as some treat party affiliation as if it’s akin to ethnicity. It can work like this: Their pappy was a Democrat, and their grandpappy was a Democrat, and their great-grandpappy was a Democrat, so they have to be one, too. This is despite the fact that the party has changed along with the generations. Their grandfather is gone — and so is the party for which he once voted.

This is why it’s interesting when an elderly person who was a passionate Democrat in his salad days is still so today. I would say to such an individual, “It was very brave of you to admit you were all wrong about things and abandon all your old beliefs.” If this left him puzzled, I would explain that since the Democratic Party is radically different today from what it was fifty years ago — since it’s now pro-abortion, for all intents and purposes promotes faux marriage, advocates race-based quotas, pushes amnesty for illegals, bails out wealthy fat cats with our tax money, and refuses to enforce laws in a race-neutral fashion (the New Black Panther case), among other things — that he must accept this radical agenda as well. After all, to oppose this ideological sea-change in the Democrats but still support them would be to place party ahead of principle.

[...]

Certainly, there are rank-and-file Democrats who do embrace the above. You will find many of them in my area (near NYC), for instance; these are people who are every bit as liberal as the politicians for whom they vote. But when I traveled through Middle America, I encountered a different kind of Democrats. These were people who were fairly traditional Americans — but ethnic Democrats. They don’t accept the agenda I outlined; in fact, misled by the mainstream media, they often aren’t fully aware their party has adopted it and, consequently, orphaned them. They don’t realize that ceasing to vote Democrat would not be leaving the party, as you can’t leave something that left you long ago. It would simply be a recognition of the abandonment.

[...]

Consider that while House Democrats in 1970 voted with their party’s majority only 58 percent of the time, that figure is now 91 percent. And it is precisely the same among Senate Democrats. (Among Republicans, the party-unity figures are only slightly lower — 87 and 85 percent, respectively.) Even more to the point, with extremely rare exception, even the least liberal Democrats vote with their party approximately 75 percent of the time.

What does this mean? If you want to stop the Obama-Pelosi-Reid unconstitutional, über-statist metastasizing of government, you must do what may seem to contradict this article’s thesis. Instead of judging a candidate solely on his merits, you must also consider his party before casting a vote for him. But you don’t do this driven by ethno-political loyalty, but instead for a thoroughly logical reason.

Should write some verse for the commie Democrats.

But commie Democrats are getting voted out tomorrow so it will be of little use now.

In any event it would be short and to the point….

“Good Bye do not let the door hit you and Pelosi on the skinny ass on the way out.”

Please try that in my house. After I walk outside and ask the person to please go ahead and push me, I’d press charges so fast in front of the cop it would make them spin. I’d like to walk outside in my yard with an AR-15 but knowing the cops, they would arrest me for standing on my property with a firearm.

    Dear Washington,

    You’re fired.

We remember how you ignored the will of the American people. We remember the arrogance, the condescension, the deep partisan divide that you dug into our political system.

We can assure you that we have NOT forgotten the way you treated us during the town halls. We have not forgotten how you treated us when we called your office, sent you letters, and tried to make our voices heard. It would be IMPOSSIBLE to forget how you forced Obamacare on us. No one forgets the day their government puts them on notice that they will be required to finance abortions, lies to them about what will happen to their insurance coverage, and performs the most egregious set of political acrobatics in the history of the legislative process in order to circumvent the will of the American public.

Every time you pushed legislation that we didn’t want, we were shut out and told to sit down and take it. You made it loud and clear that what we wanted didn’t matter. DON’T EVEN GET US STARTED on what you’ve done to our economy!

So, does this make us angry voters?

Nah…. we’re downright GIDDY as we cast our votes!

Up until now, we’ve pledged to remember November. Now we’ll leave that to YOU.

    Signed,
The ones you’re now hearing loud and clear!

Tuesday could produce new Latino stars – in GOP

In an election year when Democrats are accusing the GOP of being anti-immigrant, Hispanic candidates are poised to make historic gains Tuesday – on the Republican ticket.

It’s an unusual twist on one of the dominant narratives of the election: The party that reignited the immigration debate by writing the Arizona enforcement law, pushed for repeal of the 14th Amendment, and produced hard-hitting ads against illegal immigrants is likely to wake up Wednesday with a bench of Hispanic Republicans who will be instant celebrities in the political world.

    The Democrats aren’t listening:

Two governors sparred over the message Democratic candidates are sending this election— if it’s the right one and if it is even being heard at all.

Governor Ed Rendell, D-Penn., started it all by blaming the Republican voter excitement on his party’s bad communication. Rendell said on CBS “Face the Nation,” “I think this administration has done a great job… We just did a lousy job communicating it. We let the Republicans, to their credit, out-spin us a year-and-a-half ago, and we’re paying the price.”

Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty, disagreed, “I don’t think it’s about communication. I think it’s about the product. They’re trying to sell something that isn’t any good. And what we have now is an economy that remains in the doldrums.”

There wasn’t much agreement about what will happen after this election either.

Yes, if you had spoken slower and yelled louder it would have helped. Try that next time. Ordinarily, I’d say don’t fuck with your enemy when he is destroying himself, but the Obama Administration and the Democrats are destroying America, too. I think that they are like a suicide bomber: it’ll be worth going down if they can bring America with them. I really believe that is how they feel.

geez..the more that comes out on this the worse it is.

Baghdad church siege survivors speak of taunts, killings and explosions

…Fifty-eight people, most of them worshippers from the Chaldean Catholic community, are confirmed to have been killed in the massacre, which was carried out by al-Qaida-aligned gunmen, some of whom claimed to be avenging a foiled bid by a small-town US pastor to burn the Qur’an.

Survivors spoke of religious taunts, random killings and then a gunman slaughtering hostages en masse as the Iraqi army stormed the church to end the four-hour siege.

Ghassan Salah, 17, had just arrived for the Sunday night service with his mother, Nadine, and brother Ghaswan, when the gunmen burst through the cathedral’s huge wooden doors. “All of you are infidels,” they screamed at the congregation. “We are here to avenge the burning of the Qur’ans and the jailing of Muslim women in Egypt.”

    Then the killing began….

…Mona Abdullah Hadad, 62, was in church with her family when the gunmen started shooting. “They said, ‘We will go to paradise if we kill you and you will go to hell,’” she said. “We stood beside the wall and they started shooting at the young people. I asked them to kill me and let my grandson die, but they shot him dead and they shot me in the back…

My Mom doesn’t vote anymore, she stopped voting Democrat when it became clear abortion was a core issue for them, and Clinton vetoed the partial birth abortion ban, but can’t bring herself to vote for the rich Republican Protestants who’d hang “Irish need not apply” signs in their windows.

My older brother Charlie, however, embraced full bore Kos/IndyMedia/DU style Marxism, apparently as a student at Washington University in St. Louis, although a Jesuit high school probably didn’t help. Of course, he is a holiday Catholic, and committed adultery on, then divorced the mother of his children and remarried outside the church. Mother of children had a weight problem, new wife jogs and has implants.

Full bore no blood for oil Halliburton!!! loony, but he works as a contractor at the Lake City Army Ammunition plant outside Kansas City. Probably a miracle he hasn’t sabotaged the war machine of the imperialist USA of KKK.

I’d be careful about free tattoos. Tats are usually worth what you pay for them. I’d find someone with a good, clean permanent shop, references or pictures of various tats he/she has made, and only then would I quibble about price. A tattoo is forever. I’ve seen some really bad stuff out there. The guy I have is really good. My only complaint is that he doesn’t do enough original drawing. He has the talent to do it, just, for whatever reason, he doesn’t do it. Once we get my sleeves done, one on my leg finished, and a neck chain (yeah, I have a lot to do), I’m going to start finishing my back. That is next year’s project.

They worship a venegeful, blood thirsty god, who tolerates perversity.

I wonder what other ‘holy books’ have such a chapter….

Sura – 8 The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)

“I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them.” Sura 8:12

In my family my Mom and Grandpa taught me the Democrats are racists against Hispanics. SO I was raised to despise them.

Tomorrow night is going to be fun.
I suggest a thread to track the ridiculous spin the dhimmi blog will be creating on how powerful a win the election is for the party of Hussein.
