beautiful night in sw pa right now, post storm, half a moon, fast moving puffy white clouds, stars, its nice on the deck.
I looked at some more information on that kid in KC that got slapped, and his mom wrote the 40 page rant to the school board. Someone went through and ran a total of all her demands, went to a near extreme on some of them (the car of her choice- a Lamborghini), and came up with an estimated payoff for a slap of somewhere just north of $10 million.
The mom’s a jazz singer, and actually has a decent voice. It’s just too bad she’s completely lost her mind.

coldwarrior wrote:
Both. Musical ability starts with the ability to hear that their is a difference between tones. People who don’t have that pretty much cannot be trained as a musician. Fortunately people who are genuinely tone deaf are actually pretty rare.
Some, a very few I might add, people are born with an exceptional tonal memory, they are the insanely gifted prodigies. The rest of us have to work at it, so yes most people have to be trained and in fact given the right training can become exceptionally skilled and “talented” musicians.
Musical talent really is far more trained skill then anything else. The idea that practice makes perfect genuinely has more reality to it than myth. Musicians like Steve Vai or Joe Satirani started out with just about the same natural talent as everyone else, it is the amount of and quality of education and practice that sets them apart from everyone else.
Music is a discipline, if you can accept and embrace the discipline and get a good instructor and have the time to dedicate to it, pretty much anyone can become a musician of their caliber.

what puti did was hit a few keys, then a few more, then stop.
then she started really using her fingers on both hands to hit many keys, then would find a few keys that sounded good together.

The problem is that they are learning so much so fast that their attention span and retention rate is very small.
The best age for beginning the discipline of music is around 7, if you can get them interested and keep them interested and get them a really good teacher they will develop amazing skills, usually becoming accomplished Musicians by the age of 15. By the age of 20, they are world class material.

@ Bob in Breckenridge:
I’m giving your offer some serious thought here.
@ coldwarrior:
Hey, if I can handle just driving up the damn hill, I can handle the view from the balcony. That really is a great idea too!

That guy was AWSOME! He doesn’t just sing, he tells the story. Funny I’m a jazz musician and fan but some of the country musicians really get me. JC, Willie Nelson, Alison Krause and a few others blow me away. My grandfather and his brother were a guitar banjo bluegrass duo back in the fifties in southern ohio so I suppose I come by it honestly.
@ coldwarrior:
There really is a lot of room for improvement with those big houses up there. Be nice to see the town come back again. The main street is looking a lot better, so that’s a start. I could probably live over there now since I don’t have to worry about the school districts. But, the parking sux. lol lol
@ dwells38:
nice!
i like my johnny too.
NoThreat2U wrote:
i wish you could see what my parents did with the house…brilliant.
My brother worked back stage at the CMA a long time ago. He said people would be surprised to see just how small of a man Johnny Cash was.
@ coldwarrior:
OMG! Yep better even. And where’s the Vodka and marinated herring in deed! I love both.
@ coldwarrior:
I believe that with a vision and the funds, anything is possible. I like those big old houses…with the original woodwork and built-ins. That’s why I love my dining room bookcases. I should have been born rich. lol The one day I was standing on your deck looking at those huge houses across the street and to the left of yours. One is empty I think. I was gonna go peek in the windows just for the hell of it.

@ coldwarrior:
I believe it. The house next to me is up for 39k! I would want to be able to restore a house that old though..the one by you, not me. This one by me, the first thing to go is the trailer addition. lol
aye:
hahahah!!!
@ NoThreat2U:
The lot my house is on would cost more than that…
@ coldwarrior:
Buncha rowdy bastards. lol I’d probably get hurt real bad in that crowd. lol
@ lobo91:
The place isn’t too bad, not at all. The price is a friggin steal. Saw my landlord checking it out the other day. It would cost him less than what he paid for my house.
NoThreat2U wrote:
you do what my parents did, they bought the house, near here, for 27k in 1977. dad did one room at a time.
sold for 110k (one or two blocks from st felix.)
@ coldwarrior:
Yeah. he means it. Crap I’m screwed when the man comes around! LOL!
@ coldwarrior:
Well I was considering that with my grandmothers house..she only wants 17k. But I like my house better than the one next door.

Just sent you the info.
I’m hoping Jim does buy the house next door. That is even more security for his business if he owns the houses around it.
@ Bob in Breckenridge:
Not that!! lol Maybe I should have said short in stature??? lol

I have an extra lot, this guy said that during the boom I could have gotten 80k for it.
Bob in Breckenridge wrote:
Got it.
Thanks.
@ Bob in Breckenridge:
Yeah. You know i got nothin to either hide or brag about so I’m cool with them. But I suppose some of the people who live and die by public perception could be a little nervous. I mean let’s say your Alec Baldwin or G. Clooney or maybe some heart throb macho rapper and your rep is your a big stud. Then someone screen caps your scan and it’s….uh..shall we say…underwhelming. A real “I was in the pool…” moment. Could be a career killer.
@ dwells38:
LOL Only a man would think of that. My goodness. lol

So are Levis.
Oh – maybe I am not so cool.
I am not a shoe type of girl.
NoThreat2U wrote:
Not that I’ve noticed…
@ Calo:
Oh they have new levis out just for women now. I am gonna check them out. No longer do we have to wear those stupid low riders. Nikes are good, I prefer my DCs but there is no substitute for a nice high heeled shoe. I am short. lol

Cuz we have a warped sense of humor – and rightfully so.
@ NoThreat2U:
LMAO – no – he never does.
@ coldwarrior:
Uh huh. lol Well for short folks a high shoe makes your legs look longer. SOmetimes that is important with what you are wearing. I rely on them actually. I’d look pretty stupid in a nice dress with flat shoes. I’d look like my grandmother.
NoThreat2U wrote:
Some of the “dress shoes” look like what I wore in high school. Let’s put it this way- The Temptations would admire me.

@ coldwarrior:
Silicone is too hot.
@ coldwarrior:
But see, a good heel will force your chest out, therefore, more “tits” to see. I can’t believe I jsut said that.
@ coldwarrior:
Eyes? That’s a new one.
@ NoThreat2U:
Probably – where is the lever?
I can’t drive with my knee in my face.

@ Calo:
Under the front of the seat. lol It’s even more funnier when I have to slam on the brakes…I end up pretty much standing up on it. lol
@ Bob in Breckenridge:
Short is a pain in the neck. You can’t reach up in the cupboards. There have been times I parked on a slant and have to grab the steering wheel and shimmy up in the truck. I can’t reach into the bottom of the damn freezer.
@ coldwarrior:
Nope
@ coldwarrior:
LOL Goonight dude!
I need to get to bed, too.
Night
Goodnight

@ lobo91:
CYA both! Lobo, any questions, email me.
Well it is safe to assume the power will stay on (yes, I am afraid of the dark at my age). Gonna shut everything down and try to sleep. No guarantee of that. Nite Calo
@ coldwarrior:
No, we were looking at DMII and Gastric bypass.
Tre’ cool.

Her morning treat.
Imagine waking up to a dog nozzle in your face no matter how many pillows you try to hide behind.
I just woke up from a dream that I was standing next to a field of cattle speaking to a cattle buyer, who’s truck was parked on the roadside and reeked of all that cows can be.
Turns out the cat is sick and shit in the bath tub.
Morning everyone. Usual blog pimping ahead.
@ PaladinPhil:
Morning. YOur’re right. There is nothing good about it
@ Iron Fist:
Yeah, my apartment sprung a leak and it’s still raining outside. :p
well, off to work. See you all in a little while.
Awfully slow around here isn’t it?
Hmmm. Not a lot of Mohammedan news out there; it’s like they’ve fallen off the radar. It’s a bit creepy, like a summer night when all of the crickets stop chirping at the same time……
@ MacDuff:
They are plotting. They are always plotting. Maybe the election knocked them back a pace. They were all excited about watching us destroy ourselves, and now maybe we’ve put a stop to that.

Still checking my numbers.
