Rare Frieda Kahlo Stereograph

This is amazing. If you cross your eyes and focus on the middle image you get an awesome 3D effect of one of the hundreds of Frieda Kahlo’s self portraits.

Make sure that no one else is in the room who might bonk you on the head while your eyes are crossed because they might stay that way (according to your mom) and you won’t be able to enjoy The Overnight Open Thread.

Frieda Kahlo was revered in the 1930s for being a crippled “primitive” painter who hooked up with Diego Rivera. They were popular Mexican communists.

That wasn’t snark on my part. Diego Rivera was a big fat well-known elitist pig who put Kahlo in the spotlight because she was the only one who would put out for him.

Although Lennon wasn’t fat, he was still an elitist pig, and put Ono in the spotlight.

ejection fraction, from what i saw and read, can either be improved and/or mitigated with a ‘pacemaker’. if the heart muscle functions at a higher efficiency, the livable/historic ejection fraction from the past is covered by increased actual cardiac flow.

This holiday season, Feministing.com, an “online community for feminists,” is encouraging women to opt out of eyebrow waxing appointments in favor of looking like “Frida,” the girlfriend of Marxist Diego Rivera.

Thanks! I like Scotties too. I’ve always had big dogs, so now that I have the Spitz I am finally really appreciating small dogs.

Then you’d love Maine. My mother is from Houlton, ME. My grandfather would wake her up for school and said, ‘Nance, Nance. It’s warmed up to 20 below.’ She’d open her eyes and say, ‘Good,’ and got out of bed.

    @ taxfreekiller:

That is good, but it doesn’t make up for this:

House GOP Steering Committee hits ditch, picks Rogers, Upton UPDATED! WITH BOEHNER RATIONALE!!

A Hill source tells us it looks like the House Republican Steering Committee has selected Rep. Hal Rogers of Kentucky as chairman of the Appropriations Committee and Rep. Fred Upton of Michigan as chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee.

These are the two worst picks House Speaker-to-be John Boehner could make as Rogers is an earmark-happy Old Bull and Upton is an moderate liberal -- aka RINO. It appears House GOP leaders still have not learned that talking the talk but not walking it stopped working in 2006.

The steering committee’s recommendations must be approved by the full House GOP caucus. Normally that would be a formality. Perhaps with a bunch of Tea Partiers elected as freshmen last month, we will see Boehner’s first leadership crisis if the new blood rebels, as they should.

I hope the full caucus has a fit. We need people who are going to cut spending, not plunder the treasury. The Republicans still seem to want to put the same old thieves in charge of the purse strings. They can’t seem to hear the public that is screaming ENOUGH!

I’m dreaming of a white Christmas

Bastardi is predicting that the pattern will result in over 50 percent of the country having a white Christmas which is well above the average coverage of less than 25 percent of the country which is usually covered by snow Christmas Day.

Heh, the Washington Post admits tax cuts are economic stimulus.

    The first paragraph:

President Obama on Tuesday faced an uprising among angry Democrats who strongly opposed his deal with Republicans on tax cuts, opening a public rift that could prevent the White House from ending the year with a fresh dose of stimulus for the economy.
