Office Newnoun Barbie

Recently fellow BlogMocker Macker sent an email with a link to his favorite site *wink wink, nudge nudge* and thought we should share his awesome discovery – a collection of NSFK Barbies.

Since we don’t “embiggen” or “biggify” here (those terms are SO 1.0) click on each image to view in a larger format for your enjoyment on The Overnight Open Thread.

But Dr. Suresh, I must tell you frankly, it angrifies my blood mightily when you keep funding scofflaw scientists like Thompson. I wax wroth, and utter venerable Anglo-Saxon imprecations, when the NSF doesn’t follow its own policies. And to my wife’s embarrassment, I confess that at times I find myself audibly urging anatomically inventive but ultimately improbable acts of sexual auto-congress on those government employees who are allowing this to happen.

Several years ago I heard a caller to Michael Savage (on one of his sane days) who was talking about how he and his twin brother had fared in life. The twin had gone to college and done well for himself while the caller had gotten into pot, trouble, and really hadn’t done anything with his life. Moneyquote from the call, “there’s nothing more pathetic than a 40 year old pot-head”.

Now, Willie’s done OK for himself and is obviously self-supporting, but it doesn’t always work out that way.

It makes a game I have no interest in more exciting. As a disclaimer I have been watching it all night while my son and I wrapped up a two day excursion with tamala making.

I was really bummed the Raiders lost yesterday. Yeah it’s been one of those seasons again.

    @ PrincessNatasha:

The only difference I can see is intent. People can drink without the intent of becoming impaired. When someone lights up a joint, there is no intent other than to become impaired, it’s not something done to enhance a meal.

For those prone to alcoholism, absolutely any exposure is going to cause problems and those people are likely to wind up like the caller I referenced. Since many people have used pot as young adults and have not wound up like that caller, it is apparent that not all people who use it develop that kind of dependency upon the substance. For those who do however, there are studies that suggest long-term degradation of mental capability does result. Those stereotypical jokes about stoners are grounded in reality.

    hehehe

Keep an eye on Nikky Haley. I do believe she aims to misbehave…

Obama, Haley go head to head

    (…)
Haley’s exchange with Obama on the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste dump was less complicated.

“The taxpayers of South Carolina have paid $1.2 billion to [develop a plan] to send our nuclear waste to Yucca Mountain,” she said.

“I asked him if he would consider honoring the federal commitment and allow waste to go to Yucca Mountain. His answer was no.

“He went on to the fact that they feel like they had safety concerns. He was pretty adamant that was not an option that was on the table.”

Haley then made a direct demand.

“Then give us our money back,” she told Obama.

“He said that he would have [Energy] Secretary Chu call me.”

I’ll disagree with your disagreement. Having a beer or a shot will not impair you, and you can moderate the intake.

Not so with pot, since the potency varies widely, and the effects are not dependent upon body mass. A glass of wine will not get you drunk, but a single toke of a strong variety WILL get you stoned.

Amen!! I have seen the whole spectrum of “drug” users in my life. One of my friend’s father is a Nam vet, hard working mechanic. Had his own Mercedes repair shop for 20+ years, sold it and started an a/c installation and repair business. Smokes pot pretty regularly. Then there is a guy I used to be friends with. He is 26, lives off his parents, doesn’t work or go to school. Sits at home playing video games, watching tv and smokes like a chimney. Granted, I don’t cut his parents slack for enabling his behaviour, but his sisters both have degrees and work their butts off. It is up to the individual.

I had the opposite effect with street whites. I had to take more and more to get high. Drug users would be shocked at what I would take. being young and stupid it fucked my body up big time. I picked the habits up from nam vets just back from vietnam. It was the cool thing to do.

Drugs are the one thing in life I have seen destroy people on a regular basis. A drug dealer is at about the same level as a level III sex offender. Maybe a bit worse, cause I would put the college level drug dealer/student to death.

Proposition 19 went down in California last month, and that surprised me. The best argument I saw to legalize marijuana was to cripple the Mexican drug cartel. If one accepts that as a logical argument, then it follows that cocaine, meth and any other number of drugs should be legalized also. Enforcement is the way to deal with the drug cartels, not decriminalization.

Dr. Dean Odell Edell had a local radio show a few years ago. He advocated for marijuana legalization, but warned about side effects, both physical and cultural. He also said that if he were to choose to use any “recreational” drug, including alcohol, that he’d choose heroin, as long as he was guaranteed a non-stop supply of it. Heroin is very addictive, but it metabolizes better than any other “recreational” drug.

The residual chemicals are inactive. It is basically the junk left over from the intake that shows up on drug tests. It stores itself in the fat cells and that’s why it takes longer to clear out than other drugs. Just saying. Plus you can clean out faster if need be. Back when I smoked I cleaned out in 3 days. thc is not a hostile molecule to the human body, therefore, it is metabolized slowly and the metabolites are either passed of placed in adipose for later pass.

Oh I didn’t eat a lot of them. I had a pretty small one both times in fact. Truth be told though, I was always a light weight. Which was good, because I spent most of my time around it selling. Not the proudest moments of my life, but I needed money. Working minimum wage wasn’t paying the bills. It did teach me about marketing and sales though, lol. In the end I am more than happy that I exited that scene. Most pot heads are mellow, but buying in bulk introduces you to some really shady people, and that ALWAYS lead to bad things.

I’m not constantly nervous, and I can be honest with people about who I am and what I am doing. I still work like horse, but it keeps me straight. My family is confused by my past choices of monetary gain. I just tell them that I am a Capitalist at heart, and since I had a market right in front of me, I took it up. Never sold anything else though. I could not bring myself to deal in the hard shit. I saw too many people ruin everything around themselves to get into that mess. I thank God that he gave me atleast that much sense.

This year alone I have paid more than I had made in a year till I was 25. It is amazing to me that people aren’t ready to burn D.C. to the ground for their excess and abuses.

    From Moochelle:

Michelle Obama today said that she sees childhood obesity as “a threat to national security.” This is in addition to her claim that (at the ceremony for the “Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act” cost $4.5B to taxpayers that will subsidize/regulate what children eat before school, at lunch, after school, during summer vacations) of deciding what American children should eat: “We can’t just leave it up to the parents</em>.” (from ‘I was anti-Obama before it was cool’ on Facebook) (emphasis mine)

Sorry Moochelle, but while making sure kids eat the right foods is admirable, it’s not the business of the GOVERNMENT. Stay the hell out of my lunchbox and stay the hell out of my kid’s lunchbox (if I had any). Stay away from my dinner table and stay away from my cereal bowl. Good God, is there NO part of my life that you bastards don’t want to control? Women, according to you, have the right to control their bodies and have abortions up until the 9th month. But by God if I want to eat things I like instead of organic foods, then I’m in desperate need of correction & control.

Interesting piece on Fox’s site about the “recovery”:

    A ‘Recovery’ Like No Other

This is the first entirely “temporary help service” job recovery. Our current “recovery” might be in its seventeenth month, but the few new private sector jobs have come from companies temporarily hiring staff on a contract basis. What were once jobs reserved for people hired to cover seasonal demand or permanent employees on sick leave have become the standard employment for many workers. Companies simply don’t want the risk of hiring workers that they might soon have to get rid of.

Since the recovery started in June 2009, the total number of private sector jobs has increased by 203,000. But these weren’t “regular,” permanent jobs. Indeed, permanent private sector jobs fell by 257,000.

“Temporary help service” jobs is what made up the difference, as they increased by 460,000. For all sectors of the economy, including government jobs, the drop in the number of permanent jobs during the recovery was even worse — a drop of 561,000.

The trend has recently been getting worse. During five of the last six months, the total number of permanent jobs fell. The new unemployment numbers released on Friday weren’t as bad as other recent numbers. There were 39,000 more jobs during November. However, with 39,500 coming from temporary jobs, there would have been essentially no new permanent jobs.

Stockholm bomber: family blame Britain for radicalisation

The family of the Stockholm suicide bomber last night blamed Britain for his transformation from an “ordinary teenager” to an al-Qaeda fanatic.

Taimur Abdulwahab al-Abdaly showed little interest in religion as he was growing up in Sweden, channelling his energies into sport and partying.

But after he began attending Bedfordshire University in Luton “everything changed” as he became a strict Muslim with increasingly extremist views, even naming his baby son Osama in honour of the al-Qaeda mastermind Osama bin Laden.

How is that multi-culturalism working out? Are UK Universities serving the same purpose as US prisons?

I think any university with a large MSA presence is having this happen. All you have to do is look at York University, Ryerson University here in Toronto. I am not sure about the University of Toronto, but I think the situation is pretty much the same there.

That doesn’t surprise me at all. Most university students I have met don’t seem to have the depth of knowledge of anything. I was talking to a student a couple of weeks ago and he had minimal knowledge of our municipal elections for 8 years. He also had a year of political science to boot.

The question is do we blame the teachers or the students?
