Inmate claims fictitious ‘Festivus’ religious holiday to score better foodDecember 14, 2010 | 11:20 am
An Orange County jail inmate caused a stir this year by successfully claiming the fictitious holiday Festivus, made famous on the television show “Seinfeld,” as part of his religious beliefs to score better meals.
Malcolm Alarmo King, 38, enjoyed “a high protein no salami diet 3 times per day for ‘Festivism’” according to a court order by Orange County Superior Court Judge Derek G. Johnson.

There is a big, official, country-wide holiday, part of our culture as Americans, you personally may or may not celebrate it, but wishing a happy one to people who do is a decent, polite thing to do! So he sincerely wished everyone a Merry Christmas, and not-so-sincerely good luck on the finals (in his class, luck has nothing to do with it, you have to KNOW the stuff!). So, to recap: a foreigner, who (possibly) practices a, let’s say, “different” religion, is perfectly cool with wishing people a Merry Christmas. Yet, libtards, who grew up in this country, and were spoiled rotten all their lives with expensive Christmas presents, bitch about it? WTF…

Yup, it’s that time of year again, the time when the PC police crawl out of the cesspool and demand that everything associated with the season be banned and that those who promote such things be locked up, shot, hung, drawn and quartered, or sent to re-education camps.
Let me make my position perfectly clear. I’m an atheist. Period. And at this time of year, I greet people with “Merry Christmas !” I put up a Christmas tree. I put on at least three Nativity Scene ornaments, plus a couple of other Nativity Scene items around the house. I buy presents, drop money in the Salvation Army kettles. I rack out the Christmas CD collection and play it to death. And I get extremely annoyed (to say the least) by people who are “offended” by such behavior. Fuck off and die already.

German-US military history was made earlier this year when the German Armed Forces awarded 14 American soldiers one of the German military’s highest honors for valor, the Gold Cross of Honor of the German Armed Forces, for risking their lives in the rescue of wounded German soldiers in northern Afghanistan. It was the first time non-Germans had ever received the award. Some of the US soldiers will now be honored by the US Army in a ceremony on December 13 in Katterbach, Germany.
It was the first time non-Germans had ever received the award.
Please tell everyone you know. Not that U.S. soldiers are heroes. We already know that and we don’t neet anyone to validate that. But that, regardless of their public pronouncements, other countries know it also. And that they are in the fight, too.
Please tell people…….

I agree. Injury is something we think about every day. The trick is to be on the other side of injury when it appears. So far so good.

About elite education. University of Texas after the Navy. State school, sure, but a good football team. Except this year. And 1989-1994 when I was a student.
There is zero Constitutional authority for the US government to help anyone go to college, but at the minimum, I say, limit subsidized student loans/Pell Grants to the mean tuition and living expenses of the various state U’s across America. Nobody should be getting subsidized loans off my tax dollars for a $30,000 a year tuition private school.
BTW, if Uncle Sugar stopped subsidizing it, I bet tuition at the Ivy League schools would drop…
@ rain of lead:
Sounds like a good plan. Hopefully this summer I will be ready for a road trip. I’ll look forward to it
@ Da_Beerfreak:
No cops in 20% of the city? That’ll get interesting! Thank God they have gun control, or the criminals might get out of hand…
My Old Lady says nuke it from orbit. It is the only way to be sure…
@ Da_Beerfreak:
I have to devote some time to read that thoroughly.
The comments are interesting. And even though they differ, there might be an element of truth in most of them.
Sorry I am late to this one.
Very funny vid.
Uhmmmm…. Does this mean that Al-Azhar is a die-versity?
@ rain of lead:
Is that pork? In Texas it is all about the beef.
@ NoThreat2U:
Just kidding.

Oh OK. Whew. I so didn’t want to have to go there again. lol

I despise militant atheists – they give atheism a bad name. I’m surrounded by religious people of one variety and/or degree or another. It’s just a part of life. No need to be a prick about it.
And, while Christmas is overly commercialized these days, not all of the commerciality is without merit. Sure, I shop more atthis time of year than any other. But this time of year, I focus on what I think other people would like to have, not what I would like to have. Something to be said for that. I’m hoping the grandson is gonna love the items ordered today. Can’t go wrong with things that fly and things that go “BOOM” for a 10 year old.
@ buzzsawmonkey:
Why is the superior ape homo sapiens supposed to take care of all the other animals? I agree. I thought the same thing about the “melting ice cap”. There was a polar bear/grizzly hybrid, but someone shot it. They were trying to evolve.
@ snowcrash:
Looks like a nice place.
@ lobo91:
That should be interesting. I can see the Donks that are retiring, have already lost their seats, or who are, like Pelosie, immortal being willing to have a vote on it, but damn, if I were a surviving Democrat I’d consider this less desirable than a radioactive colonoscopy. Voting against this won’t hurt any Republicans, but there isn’t a safe vote for a Blue Dog here. The only thing I can surmise is that, having lost the House, Pelosie wants to keep it that way. I’m cool with that…

That is one thing I like about having bonfires….the smoky smell of your clothes. Reminds me of camping.
@ rain of lead:
Do you eat it with the vinegary sauce and slaw like in the Carolinas?
@ NoThreat2U:
ok now I’m curious what thread?
@ rain of lead:
from Martins BBQ site
Genuine barbecue cooks in either a metal roaster or a cinderblock pit, both heated with smoldering embers at about 180-220 degrees. The lower temperature is necessary for the roasting effect of the meat, which takes 12-24 hours, depending on the type and size.
low and slow baby
low and slow
@ mjazz:
The deviant thread. It was a discussion about sodomy laws.
snowcrash wrote:
the slaw yes, but in mid tenn we use the thick red sauce….or the

not about the sauce….
it’s about the MEAT!
@ rain of lead:
I don’t think I’ve ever had original barbeque like that. Sounds good though.

@ mjazz:
Yeah, that is what I’d expect. Depending on the gangs, the Muzzies may be in for a hard time. A lot of gangs don’t have much use for child molesters. They aren’t big on diversity, either…
Now I am missing summer and good grilling food…and bonfires….and all that goes with summer. Damn it.

oh, oh you poor deprived child.
that’s just sad
you really need to correct that

You are so right. I need to get out more. lol lol The only destination I have down south though is Nashville at my brother’s place. So I figure if I can at least get to there, I can branch out and enjoy other places.
@ rain of lead:
But we all can agree on banana pudding for dessert.
@ Iron Fist:
hey fist,
you got any really good bbq “joints” in your neck of the woods?
@ NoThreat2U:
a good rule of thumb….the worse they look outside…
the better the food inside
@ snowcrash:
oh hell yeah
@ snowcrash:
A pig pickin’? A pig roast, right? lol lol lol Eeewwww I can eat from a pig still in one piece….people going up to it an just yanking a piece of meat off it. ICK.
I can’t eat from a whole pig. lol
@ buzzsawmonkey:
Yeah. No police patrols == free-fire zones. It will be bad where the regular gangs rule. Where the Mohammedan gangs/militias rule it will be worse.
@ rain of lead:
Now that I can believe…it shows you what they spend their efforts on…food or looks. Food is more important IMO.
@ NoThreat2U:
I 40 from Nashville will take you all the way across! Easy peasy.

Calhouns and Jim ‘N Nicks Bar-B-Q. I’ve not eaten at the latter, but I’ve heard good things about it.
@ rain of lead:
Eeeeewwwwwww Although I have been told the face meat is good. I would probably eat it off a plate if I didn’t know which part of the animal it came from. Funny we are discussing this, Andrew Zimmern’s Bizarre Foods is on behind me. He is in Texas right now,
@ snowcrash:
Oh yeah. Bannana Pudding. MMmmmmmm
@ Iron Fist:
calhouns is ok for a chain and I have a jim and nicks near my house, yes they are good, you should try them the next time you and the old lady go out to eat
