The anti-Reagan; and Islamic Rage Boy sings Christmas songs just for you!

Barack Obama is The Bizarro Reagan - anything that Reagan would have done, he will do the opposite. The sense of U.S. floundering, confusion, and lack of spirit has done nothing but embolden our enemies. Obama seems to have a special gift for antagonizing friends.

Check out the comments on the article -- a great example of the appeasement mentality sweeping Western Europe.

by Nile Gardiner

As 2010 draws to a close, the United States faces a world that is ever more dangerous, with the looming spectre of a nuclear-armed Iran in the Middle East, a resurgent and increasingly aggressive Russia in Europe, a rising totalitarian power in the East in the form of China, a malevolent rogue state in North Korea, and the global threat of Islamist terrorism. Yet Washington seems almost passive in the face of these huge challenges, with an administration whose focus is overwhelmingly upon domestic politics, and lacking any coherent long-term vision in maintaining America’s place as the world’s superpower.

Last week The Times of London summed up the fears of many US allies in an editorial on the passing of veteran diplomat Richard Holbrooke, when it lamented America’s lack of leadership in the face of its competitors:

America today is arguably less convinced in its moral mission than at any time in the past century. This unease spreads to its natural allies worldwide. As global power shifts, and other growing economic powers learn to flex their might, the West appears increasingly uncertain in its occasional role as the world’s policeman.

The Times makes a strong point. With Ronald Reagan you knew clearly where America stood, and it what it stood for, with the key goal of building up America’s military might, and defeating the Soviet Empire. More recently under George W. Bush, the presidency had a twin strategy in foreign policy of advancing liberty across the world, while waging war against al-Qaeda and its backers.

With Barack Obama there appears to be no great moral cause which drives his foreign policy, no overarching strategy for enhancing American global power, no concept of a global war against Islamist militants, and no desire to strengthen America’s defences. In fact Obama’s approach to international affairs is the exact opposite of Reagan’s. It is based upon a naïve belief that America’s enemies can be won over through “engagement” rather than confronted with maximum strength, and that US security can be advanced by making major concessions. Obama’s extending the hand of friendship to Iran, and his drive to sign a New START Treaty with Moscow which gives the Russians a say over America’s missile defence plans are perfect examples.

The Brit’s can see that START isn’t in America’s best interests, but the Senate Republicans can’t. That says a lot, doesn’t it? How many Republicans voted for that? 11? There are 11 Senators in need of being primaried out. Of course, on of them is the cunt Murkowski. I wonder how much the Russians paid her for her vote? We all know what she is. I just wonder what the going rate is…

OT: Males and females are actually wired differently! Who knew? Yeah, I knew, but it’s interesting anyway.

Young female chimps treat sticks like dolls

Researchers have reported some of the first evidence that chimpanzee youngsters in the wild may tend to play differently depending on their sex, just as human children around the world do. Although both young male and female chimpanzees play with sticks, females do so more often, and they occasionally treat them like mother chimpanzees caring for their infants, according to a study in the December 21st issue of Current Biology, a Cell Press publication.

The findings suggest that the consistently greater tendency, across all cultures, for girls to play more with dolls than boys do is not just a result of sex-stereotyped socialization, the researchers say, but rather comes partly from “biological predilections.”

“This is the first evidence of an animal species in the wild in which object play differs between males and females,” said Richard Wrangham of Harvard University.

Earlier studies of captive monkeys had also suggested a biological influence on toy choice. When juvenile monkeys are offered sex-stereotyped human toys, females gravitate toward dolls, whereas males are more apt to play with “boys’ toys” such as trucks.

They were discussing that last night on Hannity. There’s no actual evidence that any of this is needed, and there were no hearings. They just pulled a number out of thin air.

And nobody can explain the “urgency,” either. 9/11 happened 9 years ago. Surely a few weeks to actually study the bill won’t make much difference.

  64. 64 | December 22, 2010 5:59 pm

    @ Doppelganger:

That’s a very interesting piece you linked. Some key parts, if I may:

First, it’s pretty clear that this administration has already written off the Brits and are now focused upon the ne overlords:

A further U.S. cable, dated February 5 2009, said reaching out to Britain’s Muslim community there was a ‘top priority’ for U.S. embassy staff.

It stated: ‘Although people of Muslim faith make up only 3 to 4 per cent of the UK’s population, outreach to this key audience is vital to U.S. foreign policy interests in the UK and beyond… This is a top mission priority.’

The February cable outlined a plan encompassing ‘engagement and community capacity-building’ to counter the possible growth of ‘violent extremism’ in the UK.

Furthermore, it clearly outlines the deplorable work ethic of the Mohammadens and pretty much explains why Britain is in such bad economic shape:

The outreach plan for British Muslims was published a month after a cable that revealed that while the community had grown to more than 2 million, unemployment rates were higher among Muslim men and women than in any other religion.

Muslims were also found to have the highest disability rates – with 24 per cent of men and 21 per cent of women claiming a disability – while the cable also cited statistics claiming Muslims were also the most likely group to be unavailable for work or not actively seeking employment due to illness, their studies or family commitments.

It was revealed last week that a U.S. cable from 2006 had suggested the British Government had made ‘little progress’ in engaging Muslims and combating homegrown extremism.

Yeah, as though these beasts are even capable of being “engaged”, geez.

And again, the Brits are written off and the administration has clearly decided to “engage” the Muslims directly. What could go wrong?:

And the latest cable revelations of U.S. ambassadorial plan to empower Muslim communities to ‘mobilize against extremism’ and ‘build community resilience’ confirms the White House’s lack of faith in the British Government’s ability to engage with the UK’s Islamic population.

That’s just great; we choose to “engage” a shiftless bunch of barbarians who are our sworn enemy while undermining our closest ally. Just another day in the Obama administration.
