DVD for Cats

If you buy this thinking that your cat is smart enough to turn on the TV, turn on the DVD player, open this box, put the DVD into the player, find the remote, grab a beer, hit “PLAY” and actually pay attention to this ridiculous exploitation of people who think cats are humans trapped in the bodies of furry lizards, you should pay triple the price as a penalty. Wait. That’s wrong…  hand over the contents of your wallet and sign over your bank account to the first person you meet named Bunk.

A much cheaper version is available, and it’s free. It’s called “Throw the Cat Outside Like You’re Supposed To.”

Then again, maybe you don’t have cats, but would like to hear what they (supposedly) like to hear. Fortunately, the hawkers of that piece of crap offer a preview, but it won’t do much for you unless you’re heavily sedated (like cats are 18 hours out of 24).

For the rest of us, heh, we’ve got The Overnight Open Thread.

Believe it or not, cats actually will watch those things. I got one for my ex-cat, and he spent hours watching it.

Reminds me of that scene in Scrooged where Robert Mitchum is asking Bill Murray the network Exec, “Do you have any idea how many cats there are in the United States?”

To clarify, he’s not really an ex-cat. As far as I know, he’s still a cat.

He just doesn’t live at my house.

My sister has a cat that watches a DVD of birds and tries to catch them on the TV screen. The kitteh is only amused for about 5 minutes though and then walks away in a snit. Good use of $20 bucks sis – put the damn cat outside to stalk real birds please.

During the bug season, the inside cat tries to catch bugs by leaping up against a glass door, problem is the bugs are outside.

    Here’s a joke for yinz:

    *WHAT A REAL WOMAN DOES*

A real woman is a man’s best friend.

She will never stand him up and never let him down.

She will reassure him when he feels insecure and comfort him after a bad day.

She will inspire him to do things he never thought he could do; to live without fear and forget regret.

She will enable him to express his deepest emotions and give in to his most intimate desires.

She will make sure he always feels as though he’s the most handsome man in the room and will enable him to be the most confident, sexy, seductive, and invincible. . .

    No wait… Sorry… I’m thinking of beer.

    That’s what beer does…

Someone is apparently trying to corner the copper market and the speculation is that it is China. Possibly also silver. Who really knows? However there are strategic metals out there that China is refusing to export. It will not allow any gold production to be exported. The so-called rare earth minerals and metals have all kinds of industrial applications. China raised interest rates by 25 basis points quietly over Christmas to help curb internal inflation. There are huge moves behind the curtain, not just the ones we shoppers see.

Centipedes take a really long time to get their shoes on.

Unlike gastropods. They have to take their shoe off just to eat.

OK I checked the comments in the dashboard here. He said something about the “funny farm door” being open at DoD. It’d be nice to know what he’s referring to.

Good Morning, Blogmocracy! Today is another day in the Glorious Reign of Emperor Barack Hussein I, Pasha of the United States and Defender of the Faith Ummah! The New Year is upon us, and we should count the blessings of this previous year. Yes, it is true that our Emperor decreed a vile HealthCare law to come into being, and in the end, a few cowardly RINOs gifted us with START, but look what we didn’t get, and be grateful. No Cap and Tax, no Card Check, no tax increase on small business, no Amnesty of any form, and no Gun Control. We may see some or all of those implemented unconstitutionally through regulatory bodies over the next two years. We are by no means in the clear. But our Legisalture did not make them the law of the land. All in all, it could have been much worse. I had expected it to be. So be of good Cheer! I am certain that Obama is not

  147. 147 | December 27, 2010 8:15 am

    @ Mike C.:

It is interesting. I’d prefer something in 5.56 for a house gun (and curse the NFA that short barreled rifles are restricted), but 30 rounds at close range should be sufficient unto the task. If she’s shooting at bad guys, I don’t figure they are goint to put a hand in the “wind” to see how strong it is…

  153. 153 | December 27, 2010 8:33 am

    @ Iron Fist:
Yeah, intercity buses. Only four scheduled direct buses to my hometown, and on Christmas eve the buses were packed with about two extra buses thrown on the route due to volume. The trip back wasn’t as bad. Still cramped and annoying. If I could afford a car, I would use it as well.
