And finally, I doubt any conservative, moderate Republican, independent, or sensible Democrat would list the “Communist Manifesto” or “Mein Kampf” as one of their favorite books. Even the shooter’s classmates described him as “a left wing pothead”.

What legitimate civilian use is there for 33 round magazines? Can anybody defend the legality of this kind of magazine?

If you are loaded with a .308, 5 rounds usually takes care of the problem rather effectively. Problem is it leaves a mess and you have to shower after you shoot the guy at close range.
