Blood libel? You have got to be kidding me!

Funny how the Left which supports the genocidal Hamas, gets all upset over a Sarah Palin using the term “blood libel” claiming that it is anti Semitic.  Palin is more pro Israel then all of them combined and no group has proprietary rights on terms such as “blood libel”, “racism”, “holocaust”,  and “genocide”.  It is the Left (with its puppet master Goerge Soros) which is in the forefront (along with its Islamofascist allies) in pushing forward the agenda of delegitimizing, boycotting and ultimately working for the dissolution of the Jewish nation, therefore its anguish over a phony charge of anti-Semitism rings hollow to me.

by David Harsanyi

Wasn’t it moving to see progressive tweetdom and punditry unite in the defense of Jewry — in the Middle Ages? As a member of this most oppressed minority, I personally want to thank you.

After all, how dare she? The media are so sick and tired of Sarah Palin’s shtick (that’s one of the words we use in private) that they created a stampede to Wikipedia to quickly figure out just how divisive this “blood libel” thing, whatever it means, could be to American discourse.

Now, just for the record, we Jews haven’t been using the blood of gentile kids for our baking needs in at least a couple of decades, but in historical terms, blood libel refers to false accusations that Jews were murdering children to use their blood in religious rituals — and an excuse for anti-Semitism. It was heavily utilized in the Middle Ages by some Christians and, with a few modifications, is a regular smear in the Muslim world today.

Jeremy Ben-Ami, president of Israel antagonists at J Street (an outfit that USA Today accidentally referred to as “a political organization for Jews and supporters of Israel”), spoke for hundreds when he claimed that “the term ‘blood libel’ brings back painful echoes of a very dark time in our communal history when Jews were falsely accused of committing heinous deeds” and demanded that Palin “retract her comment, apologize and make a less inflammatory choice of words.”

Really? Memory? Inflammatory? Painful echoes?

Jews, well, we can be offended like it’s 1257.

If blood libel is really a distasteful parallel, it is only because we have intimately familiarized ourselves with the idea through a History channel documentary about the crusades. And if our institutional memories make us so thin-skinned, there are far more tangible reminders of genocide when we hop into our fancy German cars (which we do a lot, because we’re in charge of everything). Or it is certainly as offensive as the heinous deeds of Sarah Palin, which include, among many other transgressions, talking.

And as Jim Geraghty of National Review helpfully noted, the term “blood libel” has been used many times by pundits and journalists from both sides of the ideological divide, including the esteemed Frank Rich of The New York Times, over the years.

[....]

Perhaps if self-proclaimed spokespeople for Jews everywhere like J Street focused on genuine anti-Semitism around the world, their little partisan cabaret would be more plausible.

Blood libel is the fiction-laden, anti-Israel Goldstone Report. Blood libel is the flotilla incident near Gaza. Blood libel is the Egyptian state media’s peddling the idea that shark attacks were the handiwork of Jews and other state-run Arab media’s blaming AIDS on Zionists.

There are plenty of genuine things to get offended about in the world if you’re Jewish.

Read the rest Blood libel?  Oy vey!

Tucson Shooting Survivor Blood Libels Palin, Boehner, Beck and Angle

A wounded survivor of the Tuscon shooting that critically injured Rep. Gabrielle Giffords is blaming Sarah Palin, House Speaker John Boehner, Fox TV host Glenn Beck, and former Nevada GOP Senate candidate Sharron Angle for the tragedy.

“It looks like Palin, Beck, Sharron Angle and the rest got their first target,” Eric Fuller said in an interview with Democracy NOW.

“Their wish for Second Amendment activism has been fulfilled — senseless hatred leading to murder, lunatic fringe anarchism, subscribed to by John Boehner, mainstream rebels with vengeance for all, even 9-year-old girls,” he added, referring to the death of Christina Taylor Green.

I would say Palin did the world a service. The majority of the people in the US do not know what the words “Blood Libel” mean. that part of history was never in any of my high school or college textbooks. Once the internet fired up I heard the term here and there but never was interested in looking up the full meaning. I asked what it meant on this blog last year and for the first time came to knowledge about it.

Organ stealing seems to be the modern equivalent.

If anything Palins statement points out that lefties would love to do blood libel if they could get away with it and if not they will accuse non lefties of it.

Democrats should be embarrassed to be Democrats.

A palin presidential run as pres or vp will start to cleanse and heal a lot of this irrationaility of the pro science left.

Maine Governor to NAACP: ‘Kiss My Butt’

Maine Republican Gov. Paul LePage is keeping up his reputation for blunt language, telling an unhappy NAACP chapter that they can “kiss my butt.”

The governor made the comments to CNN affiliate WCSH after being asked about criticism he received from the organization for refusing to attend an event it is sponsoring on behalf of Martin Luther King Day.

“They are a special interest. End of story…and I’m not going to be held hostage by special interests. And if they want, they can look at my family picture. My son happens to be black, so they can do whatever they’d like about it,” LePage said.

The governor has an adopted son from Jamaica, according to WSCH.

Specifically, the NAACP event involved meeting with black prisoners at the state prison. Le Page maintains the organization rejected his requirement to meet with all prisoners at the event.

“That wasn’t acceptable to them,” LePage said. “So, tough luck.”

inShare.3 Retail sales came in weaker than expected this morning, largely driven by disappointing sales of general merchandise in the month of December.

The really bad news may be that, when combined with the CPI data, things are starting to look a little stagflationary. CPI came in hot, rising to its highest level since 2009. But retail sales are clearly slowing down. Consumers may be starting to feel the inflation, particularly in the sharp increase in energy costs, with gasoline prices up 8.5% month-over-month, 13.8% year-over-year.

That’s going to hit consumer spending, and it’s evidenced in the December retail sales data. For the department store sector overall, sales fell by 1.9% from November to December, a worry for big names like Sears, Macy’s, and J.C. Penney.

Electronics sales also fell 0.6% from November to December, perhaps a worrying sign for Best Buy.

Of course, stocks are still up…

Obama is just doing wonders for the economy, especially if you are in the new permanently unemployed/underemployed class. Our economy is, in technical terms, fucked. This is the worst economy since the Depression, and the housing collapse is actually slightly worse than the Depression. And there is no end in sight. Yet Obama is still the odds-on favorite to win re-election. I really, really do not understand our country at times.

I have no personal knowledge one way or the other, but I’m told that we do.

Whether the current administration would authorize any action to sieze them is another matter, though.

In general I am pretty conservative and would not normally think of doing something like that, but in this case, if a real radical Islamist Gov took over, I am afraid we really should do it. The consequences of not doing it are so great. But yeah the guy in the White House is sure a joker in all this, so to speak

Musical Chairs: Lawmakers Consider Crossing the Aisle to Watch State of the Union Address

In the wake of Saturday’s mass shooting in Tucson, Ariz., a Democratic senator’s call for both parties to sit together — rather than divided by party — at President Obama’s upcoming State of the Union address appears to be gaining momentum.

Lawmakers from both sides of the political aisle Thursday evening backed Sen. Mark Udall’s, D-Colo., idea.

On the right, Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., signed on to the mixed-seating proposal. Independent Joe Lieberman of Connecticut voiced support for it, too.

On the left, House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer, D-Md., did the same.

Noting that members of Congress have “a responsibility to set an example of less-ugly, less-divisive debate,” Hoyer said the State of the Union is a potential opportunity “to recommit ourselves to approaching our public life with the respect and honesty that our serious, shared problems demand.

FRANCES FOX PIVEN: Tea Party All About Sex (and Racism)!

Really, Frances Fox Piven? Is that all you’ve got? Tea Partiers are old, white, sex-obsessed racists?

This video clip is very interesting because Ms. Piven sounds like she’s starting to lose it. She is clearly unable to express herself as she used to; considering the damage she has helped to do to America, it’s difficult to feel sorry for her. In fact, I think she should be in a federal penitentiary. But perhaps that’s just my opinion.

Anybody calling for violent revolution because the government isn’t paying you enough for doing nothing needs to rot in solitary confinement for a very long time, at best. This old woman is an enemy of every Americans’ freedom, and the future of America, just like the majority of radical leftists/progressives.

That was most likely the Lobbying Institute program put on by American University ever year during the winter break. I’ve actually attended that seminar.

    That didn’t take long.
Just two weeks after she took the job of schools chancellor, Cathie Black has already put her foot in her mouth — reportedly telling parents that her solution to overcrowded schools is “birth control.”
“Could we just have some birth control?” Black said during a meeting of Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver’s school overcrowding task force on Thursday in lower Manhattan.
“It would really help us out a lot,” she added.

Police Describe Photos of Loughner Posing With Gun

TUCSON — Law enforcement officials said Friday they have multiple photos of Jared L. Loughner posing with a Glock 9mm pistol next to his naked buttocks and dressed in a bright red g-string. It is the same model of weapon as the one the police say Mr. Loughner used last Saturday to kill six people, including a federal judge and a 9-year-old girl, and to wound 14 others, including an Arizona congresswoman.

At least his deputies actually know how to use their weapons and carry ammunition. A significant portion of the “security forces” in Mumbai didn’t.

    On India.

    Alexander the Great met India.

    Junjab area.

After Aornos, Alexander crossed the Indus and fought and won an epic battle against a local ruler Porus, who ruled a region in the Punjab, in the Battle of Hydaspes in 326 B.C. Alexander was greatly impressed by Porus and for his bravery in battle, and therefore mad an alliance with him and appointed him as satrap of his own kingdom, even adding land that he did no own before.
Then Alexander fearing the prospects of facing another powerful Indian army and as his army mutinied at the Hyphasis River, refusing to march further east.

like that, India stood up against Alexander and won.

Destroying nuclear weapons is something I do know more than a little bit about.

It has to be done by people on the ground, who have the training and equipment to properly do it. You can’t do it with missiles, if for no other reason than the fact that you’ll never know for sure that they were actually there if you can’t see them.

I certainly don’t want us to get involved in Pakistan’s internal problems. I just don’t see any other practical way to do what needs to be done.
