FAIL: Obama Campaign Slogan Recycled On Tucson Memorial T-Shirts

by 1389AD ( 103 Comments › )
Filed under Barack Obama, Crime, Election 2008 at January 15th, 2011 - 2:00 pm

Weasel Zippers has the scoop (h/t: vagabond trader):

“Together We Thrive”: Slogan From Tucson Massacre Memorial Souvenir T-Shirts Appeared on Obama’s “Organizing For America” Website in 2008…

Could Baghdad Bob have been lying?

Together We Thrive logo T-shirts draped over the back of grandstand seats

Via BarackObama.com (Organizing For America)

Read and listen to the rest.

Strictly pigsville…

Pig smiley

Nobody but a pig would even wear a T-shirt of any type to a memorial service, let alone peddle them at one.

But using a memorial service to distribute T-shirts with an old political campaign slogan? That has to be a new low.

    @ vagabond trader:

It is raising funds for someone. The efforts of the Democrat Left to profit from this are thoroughly disgusting. Did you see where Benie Sanders has a fundraising letter or ssome shit out about it? Un-fucking-real. You’d think his opposition could capitalize on his crass stupidity, but apparently the voters in Vermont? are really that fucking stupid. People that dumb shouldn’t be allowed to vote.

For once I agree with Jesse Jackson Jr. The “let’s sit together” bullshit is clueless and a waste of time and effort. It is meaningless if they do it, but it is designed to hide the fact that there are more Republicans than there are Democrats. This will lessen the visual impace of the Republican response to Obama’s speech. I am amazed that the Republican leadership is apparently so politically clueless that they don’t see that.

I’m still speechless knowing that t-shirts were passed out as a part of the memorial service. Talk about bad taste. Never underestimate the power of Kabuki. This man got elected the first time around on a real fluke, and the fact that not a single member of the drive by media told us or reported a single thing about this man. Americans will be all too familiar with him in 2012. They called the election between Carter and Reagan too close to call the night prior to that election, and we all remember how that turned out. They can try to prop this bum up as best they can, but in the end, he is still just a bum.

I think the whole thing was wrong. Rep. Giffords is Jewish and the other victims are Christians of various denominations. Arizona has a large Catholic population but no representatives of those denominations were asked to offer prayers. There was no effort to remind people that this was a memorial service and they should be quiet and not boo Gov. Brewer. I guess no one taught them manners. And the t-shirts were classless.

  77. Mad Mullah
    77 | January 15, 2011 3:47 pm

The “Together we Thrive” slogan originated from violent leftist political rhetoric calling for revolution.

What I see in Obama is a chance for revolution.

Also, on the bottom of the T-shirts, according to this article, it says “Rocking America and Rocking the Vote”, which is a common DNC theme.

    http://www.canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/32138

The idiots over at a shitty moonbat blog which I won’t name, but begins with L and ends in F, claimed that the t-shirts had nothing to do with Obama and ridiculed Michelle Malkin for speculating that it did. As usual, as more facts emerge, and the story becomes clearer, it is the liberal freaks who end up looking like ignorant, fanatical morons.

I kind of understood during the Clinton Administration because while Clinton was an awful President, the economy moved fairly smoothly under him (until the Tech Bubble collapsed, but the press made it seem good). The economy is abyssmal. We are in the middle (I hope; there really is no end in sight) of a Second Great Depression, only the MFM won’t call it that and the Republicans lack the balls to call it that.

We lost an innocent girl with ALL of her life ahead till stolen completely.

Her death was obviously tragic, but I still think that it’s a foolish idea for 9 year olds to get involved in politics. Somebody who’s 9 shouldn’t be involved in politics, no matter which side they vote for.

She was there because of Obama. I don’t blame blame a 9 year old for being misguided obviously, but I still think it’s kind of creepy and it reminds me of all of those distasteful Obama Youth videos on youtube.

What I want to know is why are people letting up on him?

I ask myself the same question. The Republicans aren’t hammering him the way they should be, for one thing. They should hammer home every day that the economy is the worst it has been since the Great Depression, that, in fact, in some ways it is now worse than the Great Depression. That should be the drum beat every day. They should not cease beating this until Obama is driven from office. The goa should be to totally destroy Obama, to make it so bad that his wife divorces him and his children will not speak to him. I want him penniless and homeless and totally broken. That is probably not possible, but if we set our goals high, we will reach higher than if we set them low, even if we fail to attain our set goal.

Fear not grasshopper. this Wellstone moment cemented the end of his chances at re-election. It is over for this boob. The poles are a mirage, and nothing more. Reality will set in soon enough. Hyper inflation and skyrocketing interest rates. Defense cuts which will cripple our military’s ability while leaving them deployed very thinly around the globe. Exploding oil prices, coupled with domestic drilling and production regulated out of existence. People hated Obamacare last year. The excrement is going to start hitting the fan this year, wait till the American People get a load of that. The list is endless. We just better make sure we pick a good GOP nominee. I don’t relish the thought of President Huckabee, or President Romney either.

Possibly the GOP elite feel they’ve gained enough power to get their snots back in the time-warped trough both present and future?

They don’t want TOO many conservatives elected; only enough?

    You raise interesting points.
Obviously this particular girl was not “involved in politics” by attending a “Congress on the Corner”.
Young people should learn civics, though, if the teaching can be free from Alinsky/Progressive taint.
There is nothing more depressing than Young Pioneer swarms. But young Americans should learn that the one, great aspect of their constitution is that it establishes limited government.

They apparently were, as almost none of them are actually blaming the actual shooter, you know, the person responsible for the killings.

That would be too obvious, especially when there’s a political agenda to be had, and they can try to bring down some of their most hated enemies, which includes, Palin, Beck, Limbaugh, Fox News, Tea Party supporters, basically, your average American who is not a commie sympathizer.

  94. 95 | January 15, 2011 4:03 pm

    @ waldensianspirit:

I am very afraid that that is exactly how they feel. If they destroy Obama the way they should, we could wind up with an even bigger crop of Conservative congressmen and Senators, even a President Palin. You know the Republican Elites would rather have a Second Obama Term than a First Palin Term. They have made that plain.

That’s why Obama will run on his cult of personality.

I raised the point because I remember reading an article where it stated that her family said that it was Obama who had ignited her deep interest in politics and that reminded me of all of those Obama youth brainwashing videos on youtube. Where did she become a fan of Obama? Did her school or her teacher push that belief onto her, like it did with many other children? Her family?

I don’t have any children (yet), but I won’t try to force any of my views on them when I do have children, especially not at 9. A 9 year old should be out playing with friends, in my opinion. If I raise my kids right, they’ll be wise enough to find out for themselves what’s right and what’s wrong.

    @ Rodan:

I am very afraid that if the Republicans don’t get their thumb out of their asses that his Cult of Personality will be enough to get him a second term. Every day, every single day, the Republicans should be drivbing home how totally fucking awful this economy is. We have lost so many jobs that we won’t recover to where we were by 2020, and that would only really be the same if the population were steady. It is really, really awful out there and the fucking Republicans are considering “feel-good” measures like mixed sseating during the State of the Union. If the Republicans had any balls they’d sit there until he does something like dis the Supreme Court again, and then they would en masse stand up and walk out. That would make a statement. I don’t think that has ever happened before.

I don’t see the issue. After all, we all still have our “Reagan Remembers Challenger” T-shirts from 1987, don’t we?

Who in the hell is the loon that thinks up this crap for Obama? No one in this dyslexic administration can see how tasteless, classless and boorish all this is?
