Follow this Link out to lecture 20. The Feudal Order

Also: This blog has many people with a very divergent set of expertise and knowledge. Therefore, I am opening this slot for guest ‘lectures’ for anyone who submits a well written, fully cited, submission on a topic that is normally not covered on the blog. The submission can be on a topic that is covered but it will have to be very in  depth and go into new detail that would greatly increase the understanding of the subject at hand. Submissions may be made to the blog’s email address with the subject line ‘Saturday Lecture Series’. I reserve the right to edit, approve, and publish at my discretion.  So, who is up for the challenge?

    Hi, Ludwigged Out,

Fair deal, you log on and debate the “dumb crackers” who post on Anthony Watts watts up with that blog. None of us here, daedalus or lgf’s .001 will post there while you show those dumb wingnuts watts watt.

When you win, come back and take a lap with your flag up hing.

Thanks for being what you are.

    @ taxfreekiller:

He would do the same as at Daedalus. Post some inane dribble and then scamper back over to .001 claiming victory over the wingnuts.

And that seems to be enough for the new crop of minions. It’s pretty sad really.

    Good morning tfk!

Good Morning all. A nice balmy, foggy 50 here in Central Texas. Should see mid-70′s by this afternoon.

Here are some musings from Clint Eastwood found in an article at the WSJ. I’ve been a big Eastwood fan ever since his Rawhide days. When I was in San Francisco about 10 years ago, I saw an article that Clint was closing his Hog’s Breath Saloon down in Carmel so I drove down there to enjoy some drinks and get one of the last Hog’s Breath t-shirts in stock. I left there and drove down to Mission Ranch and had a few more toddies and a great dinner. Really a beautiful place. You may remember that Clint testified before Congress about the hardships place on business owners by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). It seems that malcontent sued him because one of the guest cottages at Mission Ranch was not totally up to snuff on it’s ADA equippage. As a result of Clint’s testimony to Congress, the law was changed so that prior to suing, the would be defendant be notified of definciencies and given a reasonable time to get into compliance. It really cut down on the lawsuits. … and he didn’t have to kill anyone.

Marines should be the guards at the embassy.
Only way they did not fight for the cars is they were told to let the go or they were outside. My guess is outside, the storage place was handing a kick back to someone inside the embassy who had the power to make the deal.

Second guess, Obama ordered the Marines not to fight back.

Third guess, they were GM cars and the drivers wanted to get rid of them.

all embassies have a secure parking area behind walls, barbed wire, ‘tank traps’ huge metal blocks that elevate out of the ground to completely block entrance and exit that are controlled from post 1 inside the embassy by the marines

me thinks i smell some fish

also need to know if this was just the service fleet or the cars for the officers with all the commo gear…

Here are some more pearls of wisdom from that NPR interview. Biden actually said “I think that the time has come for President Mabarak to begin to move in the direction of being more responsive to some of the needs of the people”. Now there’s some tough talk for ya. Mark Steyn was sitting in for Rush yesterday and had great sport with that crap.

  32. The Osprey
    32 | January 29, 2011 10:41 am

    Speaking of Steyn…

Hugh Hewitt: Oh, that brings me, though, to the NBC dictate, that they will run the first Republican debate at the Reagan Library on May 2nd, along with Politico. It will be hosted by Brian Williams. They just told people to show up. And you know, I’ve got to assume that Brian Williams and Chris Matthews talk a little bit. Why in the world would we allow, Mark Steyn, the conservative movement, to allow the MSM to mediate these debates?
Mark Steyn: Oh, come on, Hugh. I mean, I think Brian Williams is the perfect man to moderate the debate, and determine who is going to be this year’s Bob Dole or John McCain. We’re interested, I think in this political season, we need to identify as early as possible the decent, dignified Republican loser who knows how to give a great concession speech. And I think that’s what Brian Williams and NBC are hoping to get a jump on. And now if you’re actually interested in saving this country from sliding into a multi-trillion dollar abyss, then letting Brian Williams dictate your nominating process is a complete waste of time. But I’m not sure the Republican party at heart quite gets that yet.

While the reports of gov’t shakeups are troubling, the ‘dozens of dead’ and ‘army sitting it out’ reports make me wonder just how serious it is given the media’s penchant for exaggeration. Dozens of dead, while sad, points to rioting as opposed to budding revolution.
