Egyptian Riots 2-1-11

Today the Egyptian opposition held a so called Million Man march, sounds familiar? 250,000 Egyptians turned out demanding  Mubarak to resign. Mean while the Muslim Brotherhood is spouting all the Progressive talking points. He said the Egyptian opposition stands for social justice and combating climate change. Progressive organizations were the originators of the protests and then their Islamic allies joined in. The Islamists are using leftist talking points to win over Western Progressive support. This is protest is following the 3rd World Liberation script: “spontaneous” protests, a “Million Man” march, then a “Popular Uprising” followed by a “People’s Provisional” government. Although the grievances for the protests are real, this was planned and manufactured.

The Muslim  Brotherhood is play western Progressives like a fiddle. One of their leaders says his group wants war with Israel.

Mohamed Ghanem, one of the leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, calls Egypt to stop pumping gas to Israel and prepare the Egyptian army for a war with it’s eastern neighbor.

Speaking with Iranian television station Al-Alam, Mohamed Ghanem blamed Israel for supporting Hosni Mubarak’s regime. Ghanem also said that the Egyptian police and army won’t be able to stop the Muslim Brotherhood movement.

The Progressives will love this stance and continue to support the Muslim Brotherhood. They hate Israel and want it destroyed, hence their love of the Brotherhood. The Progressive-Islamic Axis is flexing its muscle in Egypt.

Update: Jordan’s King dissolves his government and seeks to form a new one.

King Abdullah II of Jordan has sacked his government in the wake of street protests and has asked an ex-army general to form a new cabinet, Jordan’s Royal Palace has announced.

King Abdullah’s move on Tuesday comes after thousands of Jordanians took to the streets, inspired by anti-government protests in Tunisia and Egypt. Jordanians had been calling for the resignation of prime minister Samir Rifai who is blamed for a rise in fuel and food prices and slowed political reforms.

A Jordanian official said the monarch officially accepted the resignation of Rifai, a wealthy politician and former court adviser, and asked Marouf Bakhit to form a new cabinet.

The Jordanian situation needs to be watched.

Update II: Bob in Breckenridge has a link showing the connections Western Progressive groups have to the Egyptian protests.

For all the lack of clarity on where the Obama administration stands, one thing is becoming more and more clear: Signs are beginning to point more toward the likelihood that President Obama’s State Department, unions, as well as Left-leaning media corporations are more directly involved in helping to ignite the Mid-East turmoil than they are publicly admitting.

If it is indeed the case that the Obama administration, with help by private-sector companies and the union movement has led an “internet revolution” in the middle east and toppled two governments within a month, the longer-term ramifications for U.S. relations with other allies such as Saudi Arabia and certain other Arab monarchies, could prove to have much more far-reaching consequences.

This is the Cloward-Piven strategy done on a global scale.

US President Barack Obama will hold a meeting with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and other top national security advisers on the unfolding events occurring in Egypt, CNN reported.

Officials have said that the protest movement in Egypt is in the midst of a decisive moment.

Well we can all rest peacefully now?

Here’s additional info about how the left is deeply involved in the turmoil-

The American Left’s Role in Leading Mid-East Regime Change

What the U.S. State Dept, Unions and New Media Companies are doing to foment chaos

As the world watches Egypt crumble into chaos, with over 100 dead and 2000 injured, the Obama administration continues to be somewhat and rather curiously ambivalent. On the one hand, on Friday, Vice President Biden came to the defense of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, saying that he shouldn’t step aside. Yet, on the same day, the Telegraph (ala Wikileaks) reported that the U.S. had planned “regime change” for the “past three years” while both President Obama and Secretary of State Clinton demand that internet be restored to the Egyptian protesters. This morning, Secretary of State Clinton again clarified the United States’ official position, ”We do not want to send any message about backing forward or backing back.”

1447hrs – It’s announced by major news networks that nobama has succeeded in convincing Mubarak to step down – our boy president has done it again. yaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy

    @ apachegunner:

Aloha Snackbar! Our boy-President is amazing, isn’t he? This victory for the Ummah might not have been possible had he supported Mubarak. As it is, with only the hated Israelis backing him, he is toast! Praise Allen! We are one step closer to nuclear war in the Middle East, and that has been on the Left’s agenda for decades…

Charles Needs A New Gig pointed this out at DoD. But it seems the guy arrested outside the Detroit Mosque with M-80s and spraypaint served time for a thread against Bush. He’s also a Muslim Convert (1981). Although I’d be hard pressed to think he’s a devout anything. He’s pretty messed up according to the articles I’ve seen.

Sometimes a Crazy is just a Crazy.

    More from the Obama Boom™:

More concerning than the home ownership rate is the vacancy rate. The Census tables don’t tell the entire story, but they tell a lot of it. Of the nearly 131 million housing units in this country, 112.5 million are occupied. 74.8 million are owned, and that’s only dropped by about 30 thousand in the past year. 38 million are rented, but that’s up by over a million year over year. That means more new households are choosing to rent.

Now to vacancies. There were 18.4 million vacant homes in the U.S. in Q4 ’10 (11 percent of all housing units vacant all year round), which is actually an improvement of 427,000 from a year ago, but not for the reasons you’d think.

The number of vacant homes for rent fell by 493 thousand, as rental demand rose. 471,000 homes are listed as “Held off Market” about half for temporary use, but the other half are likely foreclosures. And no, the shadow inventory isn’t just 200,000, it’s far higher than that.

Screwed! We’re screwed! I don’t care what they claim, the Depression is still deep and lasting. They just won’t admit it because it’d make their boy look bad. Fuck him. We need the truth from these motherfuckers, not pie-in-the-sky about a non-existant boom.

Now, you may join the Jews, my friend,
    And I may join the Christians;
And other men may marry wives
    As members of the Mormons.

Still others wear a turban hat
    Or small bead rosary;
But I have learned there’s one great club
That wants us all to be…

There is a Brotherhood of Mo,
    A Benevolent Brotherhood of Mo,
    A Jihad tie that binds
    Allah to hearts and minds
    Into one Brotherhood of Mo.

    Your lifelong membership is free.

Totten links to Israeli view on Egypt

The author makes a point about Mubarak that I agree with. I have no feelings about him really. Except that he run a bad police state.

I’m wondering if Egypt will have a civil war or will the secular muslims there acquiesce to the threats from the Muslim Brotherhood and it’s totalitarian fantasies. All these Arabic countries seem vastly undereducated and ripe for a lot of violence.

We need to force upon them a modern respect for Israel as a friend. People in the US that can’t do that should be confronted. Get in their face. Get in Obamas face. lol

    —apologies to “The Brady Bunch”

Here’s the story of El Baradei
Who headed the UN’s nuclear agency
His job was to prevent the bomb’s proliferation
But he helped Iran gain its capacity

Yes, this fellow named El Baradei
Did such a good job of turning his blind eyes
    That he earned international recognition
And was awarded a Nobel Peace Prize

Then the Muslim Brotherhood gained power in Egypt
And, to gain Western approval, they’d a hunch
That they had to find a respectable frontman
That’s how the Brotherhood became Baradei’s bunch
    Baradei’s bunch

Because of the US State Department involvement.

We need to bring the public eye to that nest of Islamist moles, so as to motivate demands for a major cleanup.

Granted, State Department bureaucrats are a difficult bunch to get pink-slipped, but that needs to happen.

MSNBC‘s ’Morning Joe’ Promotes Anti-American Al Jazeera To Cable Companies

Wrapping up Tuesday’s edition of “Morning Joe” was a segment on TV that launched with a full-court press from all in the room on behalf of Al Jazeera’s English-speaking service to gain access to the American cable systems. Joe and his group wondered aloud why the cable network was not on any major systems here in America.

    NY Times Media writer Brian Stelter shared some insight about the controversial and frequently seen as anti-American network stating;

“Their commentators might makes us cringe at times, but they’ve got the news gathering that nobody has, that’s gonna win out.”

“Is Al Jazeera anti-American? I feel that’s being drowned out by the raw coverage. They’re the main ones with these live shots out of Egypt, that counts for something.”

Is the esteemed Times writer saying that a viewer should look beyond the feelings and statements of anchors if the news gathering ability of a channel is viewed as exceptional? Is he also stating just because Al Jazeera happened to be on the scene in Cairo before anyone else, they should be given a free pass for being anti-America?

Maybe the cable companies should swap MSNBC for Al Jazeera. The ratings couldn’t be any lower…

South Dakota Pols Introduce Bill Requiring All Citizens to Own a Gun

A group of of South Dakota state lawmakers is trying to make a point about the federal government’s individual mandate that everyone must have health insurance. Their method of choice? Introduce a bill that everyone in the state own a gun.

The five politicians recently introduced legislation that would require any adult 21 or older to buy a firearm “sufficient to provide for their ordinary self-defense.” The bill would take effect January 1, 2012 and would give people six months to acquire a firearm after turning 21. It would not, however, apply to people who are barred from owning a firearm.

While ownership would be mandated, the type of firearm would not. Instead, citizens could choose any gun “suitable to their temperament, physical capacity, and preference.”

I read a lot of concern, here and elsewhere, over the new direction of Egypt, given the current unrest and probable departure of Hosni by Friday.

I think it’s all well-founded, but the short-term view seems to be the only one considered.

I think that the Muslim Brotherhood will take over, either directly or by proxy, or at least that seems to be the likeliest outcome. The short-term situation looks bad.

However, read the preceeding thread “Why Arabs Lose (Conventional) Wars“. Arabs, due to their religion and culture, are and always have been incompetent stewards of civilization.

The MB will enforce their own brand of Islam on 80 million Egyptians, and it will be a disaster, much like what the Ayatollahs have done to Iran. Israel is unlikely to be surprised militarily, and I see a reconquest of Sinai all the way to the Suez Canal, this time permanant. Will the Canal stay open? It and tourism are 2 of Egypt’s main sources of income. Without oil, Saudi Arabia would look like Somalia.

I think the ascention to power of the MB might end the legitimacy of the idea of the return of the Caliphate and imposition of Shari’a, forever, and I see this as a worthwhile outcome. However, many people will die in the process.

Unfortunately, I can’t tell which will cost fewer lives: dealing with Muslim agression, as we will eventually have to, or letting this new and unexpected MB option play out.
