Self-taught free stylin’ slide guitar by “Ronnie” from Botswana. There’s another clip here, and his brother(?) plays as well:

Unfortunately I couldn’t find who these people are as the Utoobage notes are vague. I like the sound; similar to Soca. Listen to the roots of ska, rock steady, toaster and reggae in the rhythm and chord patterns while we awkwardly segue into The Overnight Open Thread.

Did you ever wonder how Lewis and Clark managed to explore that huge swath of the Louisiana Purchase, go onto the Pacific coast and back, without being attacked or massacred? The answer might lay with an air rifle the expedition carried, that’s right, an air rifle. This thing wasn’t your average Daisy or Benjamin, no siree, this 20 shot, repeating fire, rifled barrel puppy could knock down a target at 100 yards with a 46 cal. round.

As an aside, I recall seeing where William Clark carved his name and date, on the side of Pompey’s Pillar, while on our family vacation in 1967.

Well, DUH! It gets really stressful, just sitting at home, waiting for your fellow citizens hard earned money to arrive in your lazy assed welfare sucking direct deposit bank account. You gotta follow dear leader’s example and spread all that money, someone else earned, in far flung places. After all, it all came from Obama’s stash,,, didn’t it?

4,000 homes set ablaze and the families terrorized or killed.

This incident was triggered by a relationship between 40-year-old Copt Ashraf Iskander and a Muslim woman. Yesterday a “reconciliation” meeting was arranged between the relevant Coptic and Muslim families and together with the Muslim elders it was decided that Ashraf Iskander would have to leave the village because Muslims torched his house.

The father of the Muslim woman was killed by his cousin because he did not kill his daughter to preserve the family’s honor, which led the woman’s brother to avenge the death of his father by killing the cousin. The village Muslims blamed the Christians.

    Fricking barbarians.

Muslim 1 kills Muslim 2 killed by Muslim 3 because Muslim #3 didn’t kill yet Muslim 4, who was Muslim 3′s daughter after a relationship with a Coptic Christian.

Yet we’re supposed to consider Islam ‘The religion of Peace’, while conservative Christians are a threat.

It makes me wonder- someone, Hannity maybe, interviewed an imam and said that Christian pastors had offered their churches as places of worship for Muslims, and asked if he’d be willing to offer mosques as a place of worship for Christians. He replied that they could come in & learn about Islam, but never said they could worship as Chrstians. Any bets that the churches offering worship space to Muslims would be considered ‘Mosques’ and ‘Holy Ground’ to Muslims thereafter? Any bets that the Islamic mindset would read this as ‘submission to Islam’, possibly some form of jizya, because the Christians recognized the superiority of Islam?

Happy Saturday! The better half is out of town, helping her younger brother do some more work up at her late mom’s house. Tons of work around the place getting it fixed up so her niece on the other brother’s side of the family can move in. Too bad brother #2 didn’t do the work he was paid by his mom to do while she was still alive… :( I’ve got a guy from church coming over to help me with some re-wiring in the basement.
