Self-taught free stylin’ slide guitar by “Ronnie” from Botswana. There’s another clip here, and his brother(?) plays as well:
Unfortunately I couldn’t find who these people are as the Utoobage notes are vague. I like the sound; similar to Soca. Listen to the roots of ska, rock steady, toaster and reggae in the rhythm and chord patterns while we awkwardly segue into The Overnight Open Thread.

Did you ever wonder how Lewis and Clark managed to explore that huge swath of the Louisiana Purchase, go onto the Pacific coast and back, without being attacked or massacred? The answer might lay with an air rifle the expedition carried, that’s right, an air rifle. This thing wasn’t your average Daisy or Benjamin, no siree, this 20 shot, repeating fire, rifled barrel puppy could knock down a target at 100 yards with a 46 cal. round.
As an aside, I recall seeing where William Clark carved his name and date, on the side of Pompey’s Pillar, while on our family vacation in 1967.
Wish I could write a melody like this…

Well, DUH! It gets really stressful, just sitting at home, waiting for your fellow citizens hard earned money to arrive in your lazy assed welfare sucking direct deposit bank account. You gotta follow dear leader’s example and spread all that money, someone else earned, in far flung places. After all, it all came from Obama’s stash,,, didn’t it?

Minutes ago I got word that Aardvarks & Asshats has been turned over to a new blogger. (Steamboat McGoo called it quits on this post.)

@ lobo91:
Heck yeah! I’d be stimulated too if I could afford a trip to Hawaii!
@ m:
M, what ARE you drinking on your avatar?
@ Calo:
Hpnotiq - mmm mmmmm good.
@ m:
I’ll take a hpno-blue lounge lizard please.
* 1 oz. Hpnotiq
* ½ oz. Tequila
* 1 oz. Sour Mix
Combine Hpnotiq, tequila, sour mix and ice in a highball glass. Garnish with lemon wheel.

I heard Southern Women are good!
@ Bordm:
Hey where’d your avatar come from! Pretty neat!
@ m:
Looks more like Romulan Ale to me!
Just finishing up the last of my Laphroaig Scotch here. Time to crack open the Black Bush.
@ Rodan:
I thought you liked exotic woman-types.
@ Macker:
Romulan Ale: 1 part blue curacao; 2 parts Everclear; 3 parts Vodka; 2 parts Sprite or 7-Up.
@ Rodan:
Check email please.
@ Calo:
He’s drinking. Wine goggles and he’ll make exceptions.

They sold some stuff at the Star Trek Experience at the Las Vegas Hilton that was billed as Romulan Ale.
It was crappy beer with blue food coloring.

I always considered southern women exotic…
@ lobo91:
Bleah. The mix I had, esp. without the 7-Up, was a real kick in the teeth. One of ‘em and you’d had enough.

That…will likely depend on his interpretation of the word “exotic”! 8)

I can make a very big exception!

Good, I’m partial to aardvarks, I hung bottled sunshine on the F models and FB-111A’s back in the late 70′s.
Not so fond of asshats though..
@ Macker:
Sounds like one I can take a pass on. Too bad, to.
@ Calo:
Don’t mind him, it’s the wine talking, lol.
@ Rodan:
Cheers for that,
I’m thinking of doing a research paper on “Famous slut-shaming scientists on the internet.” There is a tremendous amount of data to work with, but curiously I can only find on “scientist.” So not much Algebra needed.
Pretty soon Ludwig will own that phrase, he’s already on page two of a google search for “slut shaming scientist”.

I was stationed at RAF Lakenheath, 1977-79, with the 48th FW also known as the Liberty Wing. It’s the only USAF wing to have two official names. It was one of our patches and I decided to put it up in light of recent events.
@ Bagua:
He’s such a newnoun…
The “Slut Shaming Essay” was a watershed moment in the internet perception of climate hysteria. It’s really better than “Billions will die!!1!” because it gives insight into the mind of a true Climate Clown.
No one could fake that level of inanity and blatant Freudian slips. It shows how the warmists are prone to weird beliefs, and will make vile personal attacks to try to discredit the people exposing them.

Holy cow Ludwig, that is one of the most disgusting things I have ever read on LGF. You are a truly nasty foul human being.

It really does.

He’s real, and there are plenty of nutters mixed in with the good people in science and academia. Especially academia as they pander to and protect any weirdo they give tenure to.
When you see what their papers are on, you know you are dealing with a fringe wacko.
@ Bagua:
Islam always has been the dark ages and will continue to be, until it is destroyed. It can’t be reformed because there is nothing in islam to be reformed.

I’m starting to believe that LVQ’s a MegaTroll. No one can churn and chum such blatant self-contradicting idiocy for as long as he has. Something’s wrong with him for sure, but he’s got the biggest fan club next to Charles in The Swamp.

I heard fox news calling the westboro baptist church “fundimentalist”.
Wrong, just because fundie muslims ARE deranged don’t mean fundie Christians are.

Muslim 1 kills Muslim 2 killed by Muslim 3 because Muslim #3 didn’t kill yet Muslim 4, who was Muslim 3′s daughter after a relationship with a Coptic Christian.
Yet we’re supposed to consider Islam ‘The religion of Peace’, while conservative Christians are a threat.
It makes me wonder- someone, Hannity maybe, interviewed an imam and said that Christian pastors had offered their churches as places of worship for Muslims, and asked if he’d be willing to offer mosques as a place of worship for Christians. He replied that they could come in & learn about Islam, but never said they could worship as Chrstians. Any bets that the churches offering worship space to Muslims would be considered ‘Mosques’ and ‘Holy Ground’ to Muslims thereafter? Any bets that the Islamic mindset would read this as ‘submission to Islam’, possibly some form of jizya, because the Christians recognized the superiority of Islam?
Happy Saturday! The better half is out of town, helping her younger brother do some more work up at her late mom’s house. Tons of work around the place getting it fixed up so her niece on the other brother’s side of the family can move in. Too bad brother #2 didn’t do the work he was paid by his mom to do while she was still alive…
I’ve got a guy from church coming over to help me with some re-wiring in the basement. And maybe get a couple things figured out on this crazy computer.
@ Prebanned:
Other than calling them a bunch of nutcases, I don’t know what you’d call Westboro Baptist.
Now that they’ve been granted the ‘free speech’ right to make asses out of themselves at funerals, what are the limits of my right to ‘freedom of speech in making sure the families of soldiers, cops, and pretty much anyone else who dies in America, along with worshipers at Catholic churches, Jewish temples, and anywhere else not nutty enough for the Phelps clan, aren’t disturbed? Can I shower them with shit? Hose them down with a water cannon? Throw paint on them?
@ mfhorn:
That is a good point, if real fundamentalist Christians were dangerous, they would have killed off the Westboros for giving Christ a bad name.
Fact is they are in the grip of satan, turning people away from God.
I would say media blackout would solve the whole situation.
That or enough airtime pointing out that what they do is exactly opposite to Christ.
They will fade away like Cindy Sheehan some day.
I can’t get too excited about it anymore.
