Serious Blockage

Someone spent a lot of time on this sculpture, but what I like best about it is that it’s  made out of wood, hopefully culled from a rain forest somewhere in the Pacific Northwest, and fastened to a board with a toxic adhesive derived from the bile of boogeymen and tested on lab-rabbits’ eyes as required by the EPA.

It also takes electrical energy to view it. Real electrical energy with tungsten filaments heating up the atmosphere to prevent imminent Global Cooling. Cutsey little weenie curly fluorescent lamps just don’t cut it here.

I suppose you could mount it on a wall perpendicular to the rays of the sun, but then you could only see the image for about 30 seconds two times a year. If the day is overcast after you and your friends rearranged work schedules just to view it, you’re screwed, and  that would suck donkeys big time.

Speaking of donkeys, here’s another big ass installment of The Overnight Open Thread.

Ban Ki Moon, from the stinking rot of the planet, makes up history and craps on the Jews:

He is willing to start an unprecedented blood bath in Jerusalem in a situation where Israel is not allowed to defend Jewish lives – and then Ban could sleep like a baby at night after having done so.

Beautifully done work Eliana, of course. I just wonder if we don’t lose the conversation in the process? Maybe the right word is ‘momentum’. That intangible thing that gets and keeps things flowing naturally.

There are some peeps who hide out in the toilet stalls until the lights go out and the screen door slams shut. Sometimes the BRC comes up from the secret hatch behind the couch and lets loose after hours. It’s all good.

Yeah, that was a drag. I think that was the same night someone wrote “PENIS PENIS PENIS LOL” in Sharpie pen on the women’s restroom door after we’d just got done repainting and fixing the a/c. We had to replace the screen door a couple of times, too.

You’d have needed a really big boot — these were big honkin’ roaches. I never did quite understand the esthetics of that one. At first, it looked like a few pieces of weirdly twisted copper wire with lights illuminating them, somebody had to point out that you were supposed to look at the shadows to see the real art. This was in a new building the company had built and they furnished it with art in the hallway spines between modules. It was mostly weird stuff.

What happen to Serbia in 95 and 99. Now Libya today, will all be used against Israel. That’s why Hamas is acting up and the PA will declare a state. They fully expect the “International Community” to back them.

I just have a bad vibe about all this.

Also notice that Americans and Europeans who support Israel are called anti-Semites and Nazis. This is done to split Jews off from their allies and leave them isolated. It’s a sick plan.

There was a guy in the 80s who inserted metal tabs into the sides of tall buildings. I think this is him. I remember he did one of Bob Dylan, and crowds would gather to see the image appear for 30 seconds and then fade away for another six months. They called it an example of “kinetic art.” I like the idea.

Never in my life have I seen a situation where the ones who are willing to talk peace are being punished by the world because the other side refuses to talk.

Every time the “international community” says that they urge Israel and the “Palestinians” to talk – I want to know why they don’t just aim their request at the “Palestinians” instead of threatening Israel about what they will do if the “Palestinians” are never willing to show up.

The scariest part about all this is that our armed forces are being indirectly deployed in Libya by the U.N., with Obama’s permission. Congress had no say about it.

Now if Obama had decided to go rogue and kick Iran’s ass, I might support that, because we know who the bad guys are. With Libya, Khaddafi looks better than the muslim brotherhood-al qaida-supported “rebels.” Bad news IMO.

What I hoped to see (and I’ve seen it!) is that if some people start replying to an older thread from earlier in the day, it’s visible so that I can see what they’re saying. Others see it, too – and reply.

It’s why we wanted the “10 seconds ago” code so badly! It’s cool to know if people are replying to older threads because they aren’t all that far down on the page now.

We didn’t go to the new format until we had the “10 seconds ago” code ready.

There’s a whole lot of insanity going around right now. Israel is but one of the issues. In Wisconsin, we are seeing a potential for judicial activism to trump legislative actions and possibly install a liberal judiciary after this next week’s state elections. You have Democrat senators screaming about “draconian” cuts that are the equivalent of a 3 year old screaming about the tiny sliver being pulled. We are exercising military force in Libya in support of what is very likely Muslim Brotherhood and Al Quaeda extremists while not getting involved in Syria’s civil unrest that could lead to equally many civilian deaths.

    Whole thing is just crazy

Been quite a while since I was gracing the blog. I’ve missed you guys. Been busy demolishing a couple of communists who mistakenly opened a blog at the New South Wales Fire Service Union site. So far I’ve seen off the revolutionary communist main contributor. He ran up the surrender flag about 2 weeks ago. Dealing to a much more savvy communist this time. Into my second week of stomping on his posts using logic and cool calm logic. The rank and file ‘firies’ have been posting supportive posts to my efforts and the left management have come to appreciate that a blog is a two edged sword, especially if one doesn’t lose one’s ‘rag’ and just keeps chipping away at the core leftist rhetoric. Now the communists who run the NSWFB are between a rock and a hard place. If they keep blogging they lose BIG time and in the full light of logic. If they close down the blog then they look like the bunch of losers they are to the rank and file firemen.

I provide the ammunition and my baby brother fires it.

    A winning combination.

I recommend it as a great blood sport.

It sure does. Most of the rank and file Firemen and women just wouldn’t pop their heads up over the parapet. Once someone shows the way they all get the idea and the conversation begins to flow. More to the chagrin of the communists who run the Fire Services Union. Now the communists are royally screwed. They are losing BIG time and VERY publicly. If they cut and run then they appear sore losers and cowards who are afraid of any real logical opposition. The longer they stay the more their ideas and philosophy is held up to the light and as you know like ‘roaches they abhor the light’ of free discussion.

Now the levee of free discussion has been breached there are LOTS of firemen who have been muted until now. The left doesn’t know how to handle logical debate because they have had no experience of it in the past!

    :)

Do you know what it’s like to be a peasant in Soviet Russia?

Imagine this: You’re in bed. It’s cold. Suddenly, guards kick down the doors to the barracks and rush in to unshackle your feet. You think of your hunger as you put on your only shoe.

You are then marched, to the music of a whip, outside, into the snow, where you will work until dawn, when you will be given a cold cup of water and a wormy crust of bread.

I’m sure that doesn’t appeal to you as much as the American Way of Life.

Good Morning Blogmocracy! Today is another glorious day in the Reign of Emperor Barack Hussein I, Pasha of the United States and Defender of the Faith Ummah! There are 587 Days Until the 2012 Presidential Election! Today brings setbacks in the Administrations War on Libya. Al Qaeda in Libya is in retreat, leading one to suspect that this will devolve into a long civil war despite the entrance of Ameriican airpower on the side of al Qaeda. Obama has staked the pride of his Presidency on removing Kadaffy, even when the UN resolutions that give a fig leaf of legitimacy (and it is a fig leaf. This is an illegal war. Even Obama, in his incarnation as a Senator, stated that the President needed to come to Congress for authorization of military action)does not call for Kadaffy’s ouster. There are no good guys here. Whatever happens, Libya isn’t going to break into a Jeffersonian Democracy at the end of it. In better news, Michelle Bachmann is doing well in the polls. Some are already saying she’ll be VP. That would make certain people’s heads swivel around while they puked pea soup! Too funny. I hope she does it, or even makes the swing into the big chair. We need a President like her. Until we get a good conservative President, with a good conservative congress, we don’t really have any hope of curtailling the spending behemoth that is swallowing our nation.

  137. 138 | March 30, 2011 6:04 am

Morning everyone. More fun stuff today. I am awake and pounding back coffee. Should be a decent day at least.

  138. tunnelrat
    139 | March 30, 2011 6:32 am

    @ Iron Fist:
I agree that Bachmann would make the right decisions as POTUS and would piss off the liberals to no end. I doubt however that she is electable due to the media created image of her as a nut. The MSM here in Minnesota never liked her and they hammer on her daily without mercy. Ditto for Tim Pawlenty. They would rather have an out of touch elitist from one of the coasts as our President than a local person who has demonstrated competence. I eagerly await the day that the old media becomes totally irrelevant and disappears for good.

  139. 140 | March 30, 2011 6:47 am

    @ tunnelrat:

That is to be expected, though. Whomever our side puts forward, the MFM will demonize. That is just par for the course. We have to fight around that. What we need desperately is a real conservative as President. If not Bachmann, who? Palin has the chops, but the MFM and the RINO establishment have had two years to demonize and deligitimize her nationally. I no longer think she is viable, though I do think she had the potential to beat Obama. Thus the two+ years spent taking her down. Gingrich has too much baggage, and who else is a real conservative? I am, in truth, not very hopeful for the 2012 election. Obama is going to be a formidible candidate, and the Democrats, who understand too well that Politics is War, will go all out for him. He will have a billion dollar war chest. We have to somehow counter that. Romney, the annointed one, will not cut it.

  140. tunnelrat
    141 | March 30, 2011 6:53 am

    @ Iron Fist:
I agree completely. The current crop of candidates are either unacceptable or unelectable. We need a new face with charisma. Maybe Paul Ryan or Chris Christie. We will not win with one of the current contenders- they do not excite anybody.

  141. 142 | March 30, 2011 7:06 am

    @ tunnelrat:

Chris Christie has too much baggage. He is anti-Second Amendment, and has shown an incredible lack of understanding about the Muslim problem. While he has some traits that are admirable, I don’t see hims as more than a regional candidate unless he does a lot of groundwork, i.e. come-to-Jesus on the Second Amendment and some understanding of the war we are in. Paul Ryan, though, would be my pick. I just don’t think he’ll do it.
