DNC Chief Proposes New Gun Control

by Iron Fist ( 76 Comments › )
Filed under Crime, Politics, Second Amendment at April 19th, 2011 - 6:30 pm

In case you thought that your Second Amendment rights were safe even in Democrat hands now, Debbie Wasserman Schultz wants to disabuse you of that quaint little notion:

The new head of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) is pushing for screenings of all gun purchases.

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz said the current law, which allows private firearm sales without background checks, is “outrageous.” The Florida Democrat is sponsoring a soon-to-be-released proposal extending the screening requirements to all gun purchases, commercial or private.

“It is outrageous that gun buyers evade the background check system every day, even in broad daylight,” Wasserman Schultz said Monday at a gun reform rally in Miami sponsored by Mayors Against Illegal Guns.

“While we likely cannot end all gun violence, we certainly can do much, much better,” she added. “We have laws on the books designed to keep guns out of the hands of those that should not have them. We just need to close the loopholes and improve the information available to law enforcement.”

Make no mistake, the Democrats want to squeeze the life out of the Second Amendment like a snake squeezes a rat. They have no respect for that particular article of the Bill of Rights, and as we saw in the ObamaCare legislation, you can’t trust any of them on any issue. They will sell out their “deeply held” convictions for a dime and a pat on the head if Obama asks them to. As it was with Bart Stupak and abortion, so with any and all of the so-called “Blue Dogs” on gun control. The only safety for the Second Amendment lies with the Republicans (who aren’t that great a friend to it themselves).

Perhaps if Ms. My-hair-is-in-dire-need-of-deep-conditioning Wasserman-Klutz asked Sheriff Douche-Bag why he ignored the complaints about Loughner and failed to take action – oh, I don’t know, by putting his name on a list for starters – this creep couldn’t have gotten a gun from a licensed dealer to begin with. But he would have passed a background check with flying colors – there was nothing that would have prevented his getting a gun.

And I’m so sure those gang-bangers and drug dealers in L.A. and along the border will suddenly begin registering their “private” sales with the government right away.

She is such a fucking idiot – the next in a long line of fucking idiots that they have picked to run the DNC. I’m starting to think it’s a prerequisite for the job.

  2. 2 | April 19, 2011 6:40 pm

Of course, is the irony lost on these clowns that the rally was sponsored by “Mayors Against Illegal Guns” — Wasserman-Klutz wants to stop LEGAL sales of guns.

Totalitarian regimes strive to keep a certain level of violence. It enables them to keep control of the people by “protecting” the people from the bad guys. If the people are able to protect themselves, they wouldn’t need the draconian government goons. Look at how they are purposefully mismanaging the southern border. by allowing this level of illegal immigration, they are controlling more and more things. Byt making sure criminals have guns and the law-abiding citizens vulnerable, they control both.

  13. Aussie Infidel
    13 | April 19, 2011 7:16 pm

The reason for having the 2nd. Amendment in place in the US Constitution is NOT about protecting oneself from criminals but is about protecting oneself and society from a run away government intent on crushing the people’s rights.

Hmmm Maybe I should think that criminal bit.

BIG government IS about criminals after all! :)

Well done Australia, Open face policy………….

This actually took place in Australia and was caught on tape. This is one of the big news items on tonight’s (ACA) news over here. The woman in the burqa was pulled over by the police because she was a “P” plate (provisional) driver and the plates weren’t displayed correctly. He asked her for her license and asked her to remove her burqa so that he knew it was her license. She then accuses him of being racist and that the only reason he pulled her over was because she was wearing a burqa. She then tells him he will be sorry and that she would take him to court. Then she contacted the media and says that he was very racist and touched her burqa and she was intimidated by him. However luckily for the Policeman, the police car’s video camera was operating and it was all caught on film. She has now been charged and supposedly is going to be jailed for 6 months and the judge said she was the racist one. Now her solicitor is saying it wasn’t her who made the complaint but someone else in a burqa You can see why France has banned the burqa. Although supposedly it is not a religious dress code, the people wearing it say it is and because people complain about it, they are called racist to intimidate people in not complaining. My wife does it to me. It is time we take a stand. RegardsRJW Here is the video

I wonder if this pea-brain is aware of the fact that a number of states don’t currently have any sort of gun registration?

Given that fact, I’d really like to know how she would propose to enforce a requirement that private sales go through an FFL for a background check?

Licensed dealers must perform these screenings in all venues — including gun shows — but unlicensed dealers are under no obligation to follow them anywhere. Critics of the policy discrepancy call it the “gun-show loophole.”

Of course, there is no such thing as an “unlicensed dealer.”

There are federally licensed firearms dealers, and there are private citizens.

If I sell my car to my neighbor, does that make me an “unlicensed car dealer”?

    @ huckfunn:
It needed a paintjob when I got it, I rebuilt nearly everything mechanically and put 45,000 miles on it. The window seals got bad on it so it sits in the garage and drive about a mile to the in-laws four or five times a year. I put it on the back burner for college, then I got married, then had a child, now step son is in college.
Old girl been waiting 13 years for that paint job.

    @ huckfunn:

1962 Chevy II Nova. Sadly no pics, looked just like that one.It actually belonged to my brother who was kind enough to let me take her out in my wild youth. Some sob stole her right off the parking lot. Great little car.

Rodan, I was just trying to remember the blog that I posted earlier today that had the videos from Libya of the rebels visiting horrible savagery upon the pro-Kaddafi soldiers so I googled ‘middle east blog’ and this came up.

Starred results for middle east blog

    1.
    The MEMRI Blog – http://www.thememriblog.org/
    2.
    lgf – littlegreenfootballs.com/weblog/

Why would the swamp come up? They never talk about the middle east or terrorism any more. So weird.

    @ Urban Infidel:

It’s probably from one of the side threads.
